I’ll tell you what happened. I was at home, yesterday night past. And I was helping my son with a wooden ship model. That’s something we do. And he asked me about the ship. I said it was the kind of ship used for exploring the seas. And he said, “Where do they explore, Father?” And I told him, “Everywhere. The Orient, Peru, and even the frozen North.” And he says, “What’s that, Father?” And so I told him it was the places all covered with snow. North of Scotland and even beyond that. And he said, “Do people live there?” And I said, “No. It’s too cold and lonely all the time. No one lives there.”

I love films that make me react emotionally and physically when you walk out of the cinema. Two of my favorite films however have got to be 'The Tree Of Life' and 'The Piano Teacher,' which also stars one of my favourite actresses, Isabelle Huppert.

I’m not the First Lady anymore. I lost Jack somewhere. I was real, that was performance.

I am about life. I surround myself with beautiful things. I work hard to have a better life. This job helps me achieve that through the people I meet. I’m lucky — not to have been a cover girl — but to have been able to meet all these people, to live these adventures and travel so comfortably. But despite that, it's still difficult. Nothing comes easily. Everything I’ve earned is down to me, and no one else.

How long have I known him? Not really your best line of enquiry. We met twice, five minutes in total. I pulled a gun. He tried to blow me up. I felt we had a special something.

There's nothing worse than people who want to make you feel better when you are losing. I just want to smack them.

The business of life is the acquisition of memories. In the end, that is all there is.

Always, my mother said: "Be yourself." That is sometimes the hardest thing to do. I try to always remember that and come back to that and have strength in who you are. There is only one you.

For many years, everything I touched would fade away. And you are so full of life it scares me. I admire your spirit too much to let it be clouded by my darkness. Yet, I can’t stop thinking about you. And the time spent with you allowed me to feel again. And for that, I thank you. And I’m forever grateful. Yours, Tom.
