🌈 Hey Reading Rainbows! BIG NEWS: Our June We’re Here, We’re Queer, Get Used to It books have arrived at the port and should be arriving at our packing center this week. Once they arrive the center will ship them out as quickly as possible. 

There is an American (USA) holiday at the end of this week, so depending on when the boxes arrive, they may be shipped the following week.

To not overload our staff with unnecessary emails, please log in to your account and check the address on your June crate purchase or renewal.

If you need to submit an address update, please email us at support@rainbowcratebookbox.com with your order number and updated address.

ALL address update requests must be in by the end of day Tuesday, July 1st.

If you do not send your address update by July 1st, we cannot guarantee it will be able to be updated before the box ships. Once the shipping label is printed we will be unable to change the address, due to the large amount of orders.

If your box needs to be reshipped because you did not get your address updated on time, you will be responsible for any reshipping fees.

Late, but still needed.

I meant to share this for Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27), but life’s been heavy, and I didn’t get to it. Still… this isn’t something tied to just one date.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Ka Utapanashkutshet, the song by Shauit and Yves Lambert. It hit me hard when I first heard it. There’s something in the way it blends traditional Innu music with old French Canadian folk—two cultures that carry so much history, pain, and resilience—something that feels like remembering an old alliance most people forgot even existed.

It’s not just a good song. It’s a reminder.

Another reminder, from me : Indigenous nations—and I do mean nations, plural—aren’t just one group. They’re as distinct as France is from Spain, or Germany from Italy. Innu aren’t Cree. Cree aren’t Mohawk. Mohawk aren’t Dene. These are sovereign peoples with different languages, histories, and relationships to the land.

And then there are people like me—descended from a lot of it.

French, Mohawk, Ojibwe, and Cree ancestors.

Carrying threads from multiple sides of that history.

So yeah. I missed the “official” date.

But if you would please, listen to this song with me.

And maybe take a moment to honour voices that don't always get heard.

Because none of us are truly minorities—not when we remember. Not together.

Together, we’re the living fabric of this place. Like the ones who came before, who came after, are still coming in now.

And this is the Canada I want to live in.

I really like your art. I've sadly lost inspiration in recent years due to a great many things outside of my control. Life has not been kind. But you're inspiring me in turn, and I hope that when things are less chaotic, I might return to my long neglected WIP.

Hey there just like a a lot of other people I just came here to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your stories. I just finished reading dav, it’s literally been the only thing I’ve been doing the past couple of days (and I do have a job but luckily it was the weekend) and I just couldn’t stop reading cause of how amazing it was.
