Satan often represents liberation and rebellion. I think it suits him perfectly to have deceived Adam and Eve so that they may obtain free will.
Not necessarily for their benefit, per se, but just due to the principal of the matter and also for his unfortunate need to shake God’s throne as often as possible.
In that sense, I am inclined that nobody loves humans: not God, and not Satan. But we exist because of God and we’re free because of Satan.
(Reminder: I’m only a scholarly Satanist; philosophically satanic, only. My true “beliefs” (if you can call them that) are not stated on this blog.)
(Also, I don’t hate Christianity or christians. I don’t hate or love entire people groups, I only hate a person based on their individual personality and how they’ve wronged me or my loved ones.)
Is it truly a loving act to give people free will when they still have such stupid, faulty minds?

That would mean that God preferred humans without free will and cast them out once they obtained it.

On that note, what if the forbidden fruit gave nothing more than free will?

I used to have a lot of nightmares like this. Just someone’s unwelcome presence in my room, too close for comfort. I never knew who they were. Faces too close to my face. Not sleep paralysis, just me and the other person, or thing, in otherwise complete darkness.

John Milton estimates how many angels rebelled against God in his work, Paradise Lost. He didn’t go with the now conventional 666, but estimated that the number of fallen angels fell within millions to innumerable.
By his estimation, at least millions of angels rebelled against God.
I don’t believe in “the majority is always right,” but doesn’t it seem significant that a Puritan such as Milton would estimate that many fallen angels? Doesn’t it suggest that if there are that many likeminded people holy angels moved to rebellion, they might have had a cause worth fighting for?

𖤐 I believe that fallen angels can make a garden of their own—one that is even preferable to the Garden of Eden. 𖤐

:D!!! I JUST got my BA in literature and Milton is who I studied most.
John Milton (1608-1674) was a Puritan, Christian writer and philosopher, so you’d think he wouldn’t be of interest to Satanists. However, he gives us the most interesting and fair perspectives on Satan, Hell, and original sin. In my opinion, you can’t read his 10 volume epic poem, Paradise Lost, without blaming God for Satan’s fall and Adam for Eve’s. Furthermore, he gives us a lot of names of fallen angels that decided to follow Satan and war against God. They’re mostly deities from other religions because of Christianity’s natural fear of other beliefs. But you get some really neat depictions of Belial, Beelzebub, Mammon, and Moloc. He also writes the tragic origin story of Sin (female Satan). I could go on forever about interpretations of any of these people (characters?) so just ask if you wanna know (otherwise this post will get super long).
Here are some random cool concepts we get from Paradise Lost:
Hell is full of gold. As a result, fallen angels are able to create the immaculate, absolutely GORGEOUS architecture of Pandaemonium (that’s the spelling Milton used). If you Google Pandemonium or pandemonium, the image results show John Martin’s painting. These paintings are direct depictions of Milton’s description of Pandaemonium: (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandæmonium_(Paradise_Lost))
Satan rebelled against God not long after God declared Jesus his only son. God specified that all the angels have to worship Jesus and answer to his authority. But, like, God created everyone, so why is Jesus his only son? Why did God create some angels in higher authority than others? God essentially created the hierarchy of power that ends up provoking Satan’s pride and inspiring him to revolt, and I don’t exactly blame Satan for it because God picks favourites.
Heaven and the Garden of Eden are pretty much identical. Humans and angels were permitted to live in paradises, so long as they always worship God and Jesus. It can be inferred that pretty much all forms of art had to be dedicated to God. Art is important af to me, so I’d rebel instantly if the subject of my art was to be dictated by someone else.
God created all things from Chaos, which was the entire universe before God created everything, but it wasn’t empty or devoid of people to begin with. Chaos and the four elements (water, earth, fire, and air) were all embodied as warring entities. Chaos didn’t give God permission to use his space to create Heaven, Earth, and Hell, and is actually kind of pissed about it. Therefore, when Satan escapes Hell and explains his intentions to Chaos, Chaos actually takes his side and helps him get to Earth.
Adam plays the “I’m superior,” “you were made for me,” card all the time at Eve. She just wants to see all of nature as equal (called monistic thinking, which I believe Satan also uses). Adam even goes as far as to claim that he, Adam, created Eve (which is obviously ridiculous but also he was unconscious when God created Eve). He is constantly trying to control her by saying that he is closer to God’s image and is more Godlike than she is. Angel Raphael warns Adam to protect his weaker self from Satan’s deceit and that really ticks Eve off. Jesus Christ himself even shows up after Eve comes into existence to lead her to Adam and essentially tell her that her purpose in life is to be his wife. By the time she eats of the fruit (which Satan promises would give her equal knowledge to God and Adam), it is pretty understandable why she does it. Adam eats of the fruit just because Eve did (like, FOMO) knowing full well that he’s not supposed to, but when he regrets it, Eve offers to take all the blame for his actions as well as hers.
Adam told Jesus he wants someone of equal intellect to talk to because all the animals of nature are great, but he’s lonely without an equal. However, once he has Eve, he always acts like he’s superior in intellect and godliness. It seems he only wanted someone who was smart enough to worship him. He has serious Angel-envy throughout the poem, too, prioritizing their comfort over his own as if they are, like, celebrities. Eve, on the other hand, prefers her husband’s words and company because she loves him. She doesn’t initially covet what Angels have.
I could write more but I have to go. But feel free to ask me any questions on anything and I’ll relay the information when I am back online. And thank you for reading this far if you have!

Omg I've never heard that story of Milton going blind from actually going to hell. What an incredible flair for the dramatic. I don't know much about Milton and so you say he has other good works? I would love to hear about them.
