remicastillo:
The unexpected dips and weaves that their date night had left Remi’s mind racing in a frenzy, and she just hoped to god that not all date nights were going to follow the same pattern. Despite how effortless the changes in their relationship felt since Sawyer’s release from prison, Remi also knew that nothing worth having came easy, and there were bound to be hicks in the road. She would be naïve to ever think there wouldn’t be any considering her dislike for the club, and his devotion to it. But what part Remi’s father played in all of this, that shook her the most. Her deep frown slipped away, soon to be replaced with a soft smile. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes, knowing that was her father to a T. He had never been one to beat around the bush, if he had something to say, then he would say it. Although the truth behind Grayson’s visit to Sawyer in prison caused Remi’s gaze to fall downwards, that same familiar frown quickly taking residence upon her brow again. Again, her mind was battling with itself. Her father was only trying to protect her and keep her safe, away from a life he knew she never wanted. But she couldn’t stop herself from feeling a brief twitch of betrayal, now knowing that her father had stolen Sawyer away from her. But he had done it out of love for his daughter, and wanting her to have a better life than a prison wife.
“My father was a pretty intense man. Cruel, sometimes.” Remi chuckled lightly as she nodded her head, her eyes finding Sawyer’s again with a gentle smile. “But he had a good heart. And he loved his kids, he would’ve gone to the ends of the earth and further for us. But I also know that he loved you, he respected you and I know that it wouldn’t have been easy for him to ask that of you. But,” her fingers that had tucked themselves away between his knuckles squeezed his hand lightly. “I don’t blame him for it, and I don’t blame you either.” Remi was well aware that Sawyer could’ve easily brushed aside Grayson’s words and followed what he wanted, but he didn’t. And that was how she knew Sawyer was a good man, that was how she knew waiting five years hadn’t all been for nothing. “Because I don’t think we were ready for each other five years ago.” she had convinced herself over the years that they couldn’t have worked anyway until he had a handle on his anger, and she had a better grip on her career. Only then would everything fall into place, if that was what fate intended. “I knew that somehow, we would find our way back to each other. And we did, that night of the storm when you came over to me with that big, stupid smile of yours.” Remi’s own grew wider as her hand moved to his cheek, the familiar texture of his beard tickling her palm. “I want you, us. And this time, I’m not letting go.”

In a lot of ways, Grayson Castillo had been a father figure to Sawyer, far more so than James Graves had ever been. But beyond that, he’d been a mentor in the club, and even a friend. Sawyer had looked up to the man, respected him even when he disagreed with him. An easy smile settled on the biker’s lips as he listened to Remi talk about her father and describe the version of him that Sawyer would always remember best. “I loved your old man,” he murmured, glancing down at her, “I woulda walked through fire for him. After everythin’ he did for me over the years, respectin’ his wishes felt like the right thing to do— even if I didn’t want to,” he added, giving her a slight nudge. “I know he was just lookin’ out for ya. Couldn’t fault him for that.” But things were different now. Sawyer was out of prison and coming for everything he wanted, including her.
Humming thoughtfully, Sawyer lifted a brow as she continued. Maybe Remi was right and they hadn’t been ready for each other five years ago. Sure, he’d gotten his heart around her back then, but maybe she’d slipped right through his hands anyway for a reason. Maybe they’d still had some work to do. He sure as hell had, and now the man beside her was a better version of who he’d been back then, or at least Sawyer hoped he was. She deserved that much. He flashed her that same big, stupid smile as if on cue while she spoke, her words filling him with hope for the future they were both looking to build. Because Sawyer loved her. If he was being honest with himself, he figured he’d always loved Remi in one way or another, but never like this, and it was a feeling he wanted to cling to. But the confession snagged in the back of his throat before it ever had the chance of hitting the air. True to his nature, he’d only peel back one layer at a time. Sawyer leaned in instead, fusing their lips together. “God, how did I get you?” He wondered aloud, head shaking in disbelief as he eased back the slightest bit so that he could get a better look at her. Men like him didn’t end up with women like her and that fact had never been lost on Sawyer. But he’d fallen for her anyway. “Well, I’m yours, darlin’— for as long as ya want me,” he promised, leaning down to sneak her another kiss, “It’s you and me, alright?”

“While I agree, Ramsey gets what Ramsey wants.” Jo commented as she eyed the surrounding stores trying to calculate where she hadn’t checked. “At this point I may have to succumb to wrestling a woman for it. I don’t want it to come that far but I’ve seen this movie.” She laughed shaking her head before pursing her lips together. “I can definitely help with this. What does she like? Are you thinking of jewelry?”
Tumblr media
--
Smiling warmly, Sawyer shook his head and glanced over at Josephine, “The things we do for family,” he droned, finding it all too easy to imagine the lengths Josephine would to go in order to ensure that Ramsey got her creepy, life-sized doll. He snorted a laugh, “People turn into savages durin’ the holidays.” Already, he’d seen a number of people fighting over items on the shelves and could only guess that it would get worse the closer they got to Christmas. Fixing his attention back on the glass cases of jewelry in front of him, the biker hummed thoughtfully and tipped his head to the side, “I was thinkin’ of goin’ with jewelry, yeah,” he answered, knocking his head in a brief shake, “Somethin’ small, not too gaudy, y’know?” Resting his palms on the glass, he leaned over and tried to get a better look at the different pieces. “But somethin’ with meanin’.”

scthcartcr:
A black hole— that was one way to put it. Seth had been sucked in by the black hole since he was sixteen. His fascination with the Club had been there but it grew into an allegiance easily. While his family looked to law, medicine, nature, Seth looked to the violence and chaos of the Club, something he continues to embrace to this day. “I mean, ain’t much they can do now. Any of ‘em that they sent our way are fuckin’ dead,” he mentions. But Seth hasn’t truly given up the paranoid thought of them showing back up at his door or at the Dive looking for revenge. “Think Em’s gonna be fucked up about it for a long time. Not really a way to convince someone it ain’t gonna happen again when I’m not even fuckin’ sure. Know what I mean?” Seth grabs for the pack, taking a cigarette of his own as he shakes his head. He was still waiting for the other shoe to drop and for Em to go running for the hills. “Appreciate that. Not sure what any of us can do besides wait for the fuckers to show themselves.”
Tumblr media
--
Dusting the ash off the end of his cigarette, Sawyer nodded and gave a thoughtful hum, unsurprised to learn that the Rogues who'd taunted his family had been dealt with appropriately. But at what cost? The biker frowned as Seth went on, explaining the emotional toll that the invasion had taken on Emme. Muttering a soft curse beneath his breath, Sawyer set his cigarette back between his lips and inhaled a long drag, "Yeah, I get that." He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t thought about what might happen when who he was inevitably caught up with who he wanted to be. Who would it land on— his aunt, his sister, Remi? Shifting uncomfortably at the thought, Sawyer unleashed a quiet sigh and raked a hand through his hair, ruffling the dirty blond locks, “Ain’t easy, bein’ with any one of us,” he mused aloud, “Shouldn’t be so goddamn hard lettin’ someone in, y’know?” Or at the very least, it shouldn’t feel like they were potentially sentencing the ones they loved to something awful, and yet it still did. Shaking his head, he exhaled a heavy cloud of smoke and watched it billow off to the side in lazy spirals as Seth continued, "Ain't ever been good at that— waitin'," he admitted with a humorless laugh, "Wish there was a way to just flush out what's left of 'em and be done with the whole fuckin' thing." Between the Rogues and Otto, Sawyer hadn’t done well to sit on his hands and let the cards fall where they may. It hadn’t ever been part of his programming and yet time and circumstance had forced him to stand down, and he hadn’t quite figured out how to do that. Pushing the thought away, he glanced over at Seth, eyes narrowing, "What'd they want with ya anyway?" He asked, brow raising the slightest bit. It had been something Sawyer had wondered about since first hearing about what had happened, and while he'd heard bits and pieces through the grapevine about motive, he would always rather hear it from Seth himself.

THE brunette had been realistic about her circumstances since she’d dragged her ass at the club and offered herself up for entertainment purposes. It meant that everything else would become that much more difficult. Even though she wasn’t dancing anymore, she was doing something illegal. Those in the club wouldn’t think twice about it but people like Summer — good people — probably wouldn’t want any involvement with it. “I ain’t trying to put myself down, Sawyer. It’s just how it is.” A realistic view but she understood that he wanted more for her. Maybe it just wasn’t in her cards. “I think you’re describing yourself, babe. I chose this shit. I didn’t have to walk through these doors and I don’t have the same loyalty you have. I could, in some way, get out if I really wanted it. You’re inked it.” She was a siren. No one would blink twice if she just fell off the radar. The brunette shrugged and looked around. “’nough bout that.” The subject was getting a little too real for her. The brunette nodded when he explained the second change he had. He’d come out and taken everything he wanted. “Well I’m happy for you. I hope it’s everything you wanted, babe.” She winked at him and reached out to give his hand a squeeze. “Happiness looks good on you. How’s the other one?” Her head tilted to Kit’s bedroom. Yasemin had nodded the increase in white powdery substance… partly due to partying with him. But she wondered how bad it truly was.
Tumblr media
--
Sawyer's name had been synonymous with the club ever since he'd first rolled into town at the ripe age of fifteen. His loyalty to it and all it represented stretched even deeper than perhaps Yasemin realized. It was so tightly woven into who he was that he barely saw a distinction now. But it was different for her— like she'd said, if she truly wanted a way out of the life, she could have it. Clearing his throat as Yasemin pressed to change the subject, Sawyer nodded, taking that as his cue. They'd only continue going round and round in circles anyway. A soft smile settled at the corners of his mouth as the conversation shifted. While many days still felt like a struggle, his transition from prison back into the real world had been made easier by the people around him, “Everythin’ and more," he answered truthfully. Still, he couldn't help but wonder when his luck might change, when everything he held dear might be swept out from under again. He chose not to dwell on that for now though, not when Yasemin's curiosity shifted towards Kit's room. Frowning gently, Sawyer shrugged, not entirely sure how to answer her question, “Hard to say. Some days, he seems fine. Others, he's blitzed out of his fuckin' mind," the biker explained, easing out a long sigh, "I dunno how long he can keep it up." He couldn't mask the concern in his tone even if he tried. He'd seen this film before with his own parents, and it hadn't ended well. "What's your take on it?" He asked, twisting towards Yasemin, "Prob'ly tells you more than he tells me, honestly."

josephinecadiuex:
She hated malls; despised them, actually, but she found herself here today because Caleb needed her to do him a favor. Caleb had her out scouring every single shelving unit in this damn place for some doll he wasn’t able to locate for his daughter. Her niece and just about the best thing in her life. When she caught sight of Sawyer, she offered him a smile nodding her head in silence before raising her empty hands. “I’m striking out all around if we’re being honest.”
“I’m looking for some life-sized dolly girl, something or other,” she grimaced before pointing towards the restaurant on the upper level. “I’d rather be up there in front of the tv watching the game, but eh, here we are.”
Tumblr media
--
Blowing out a blustery sigh, Sawyer raked a hand through his hair, smoothing the dirty blond locks back and into place as Josephine took up residence beside him. He didn't know if hearing that she too was struggling with Christmas shopping made him feel better or worse. “Shit, don’t tell me that,” he laughed, hoping that at least one of them might find some success by the time the day was over.
Wrinkling his nose a little, Sawyer resisted the urge to cringe at the thought of a life-sized doll and suddenly felt incredibly grateful that his sister hadn’t ever wanted anything like that while they’d been growing up. It was no secret that the biker hated dolls, a trait that had followed him well into adulthood. “Sounds creepy as fuck– ‘fraid I can’t help ya there,” Sawyer snorted as he folded his arms across his chest and unleashed another sigh, “I’m lookin’ for somethin’ for my girl and I dunno where to even start.” Shaking his head, he laughed in spite of himself and cracked a small smile, “I’m new at this shit.”

Obviously, Izzy isn’t blind and nor is she going to ignore the man’s glorious appearance. Once upon a time, when she was a little more single, there would’ve been something more for her to say but instead she bites down on her bottom lip and shakes her head. “I’m sure,” she smirks to herself, grin bursting through. “I should send her pictures. Get a little sweat shot, maybe some shots of your arms looking incredible and then she’ll come and train. If she didn’t, she’d be the stupidest woman alive. At least like just walk on the treadmill, you know what I mean?” Izzy fumbles the catch but eventually bobbles the tape in her hands. “Okay, as long as you promise you’re not going to throw shit at me anymore. I am not like some sports star. Gimme your giant hands. But I’m not good at this thing so you’re going to have to walk me through it or something. Ryder always says I do it wrong— or too tight.”
Tumblr media
--
Chuckling softly at Izzy’s suggestion of sending his girlfriend pictures, Sawyer shrugged a shoulder and grinned wide, “Be my guest,” he offered, “Ain’t ever gonna say no if it helps me get laid.” Not that he and Remi had been lacking in that department. Since his release from prison, it was almost like they’d been trying to make up for the five years they’d lost. “Ya obviously never played softball in school,” he laughed as Izzy fumbled the roll of tape before finally securing it. But in her defense, neither had Sawyer, and if someone had chucked that same roll of tape at him, he likely wouldn’t have caught it. “Promise,” he sighed, flashing her an innocent smile as he offered up his left hand. “No worries, darlin’. I’ll teach ya.” He nodded down at the roll, "See the loop at the end? Hook it around my thumb then start wrappin’ my wrist,” Sawyer explained, turning his hand over so that she could better see what she was doing, “Make three turns, keep it snug but not tight. Sound easy enough?” Wrinkling his nose, he wiggled his fingers and glanced over at her, “The hand part is a bit more involved, so we’ll take it slow.”

DANI nodded her head and opened the magazine. She expected that he’d come get her when all was done so they could settle the bill but she was surprised to hear his voice. His question made her pause, not ready to look up at him yet. There was a lot of emotions involving him. She’d been rejected and that had only been the tip of the iceberg. It felt like forever since she’d last spoken to him and he hadn’t attempted to bridge the gap. “Sawyer, it was hard enough to find out that it wasn’t that you weren’t ready for a relationship but that you just plainly didn’t like me.” His new relationship had been mainly what had clued her in because he hadn’t plainly told her he didn’t feel the same way. Though she’d guessed as much. “But then you fell off the face of the earth. It wasn’t just rejection. I wouldn’t have done that to you.” And she hadn’t. She’d went to him every day. Taken time out of her week to make the drive to visit him. “So let’s just leave it as it is.” Her eyes finally met his, forcing herself to swallow the emotions. “I’m fine.” Slowly, the brunette rose and turned her back, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand. “Is there somewhere I can get water, please?”
Tumblr media
--
Out of every response Dani could have hit him with, Sawyer hadn’t been expecting that one. A soft frown furrowed his brow as he studied her and silently debated on an answer. He knew he could try and offer her an explanation, but what was the point? Either way, he knew Dani would likely still see it as a rejection, and he wasn’t about to apologize for however he felt or didn’t feel— especially when it came to Remi. "I didn't lie to ya, Dani,” he answered simply, shoulders shrugging slightly, “I don’t do relationships, ya know that.” And he’d always thought it would stay that way. Sure, he’d wanted to be with Remi five years ago, but he’d never thought it would actually happen given the stark differences between them, especially when it involved the club. "But when it comes to her," Sawyer trailed off with a soft shake of his head, having never been able to define how he felt about Remi— he just knew he’d never felt that way about anyone before, "I won't apologize for feelin' the way I do. But I am sorry for bailin'. I thought ya wanted me to give ya space, so I did." And when Dani hadn’t reached out either, he’d taken it as some sort of sign, but now Sawyer could see the error in his ways. He hadn’t taken the initiative and perhaps he should have. “Me not reachin’ out has nothin’ to do with me and Rem. It’s just me bein’ a shitty friend,” he admitted, frowning gently once she finally looked at him. Swallowing thickly, he nodded and moved to pour her a cup of water. "Here,” he murmured, holding it out for her. “Look, I wanna make this right, Dani…but if ya wanna leave it as is, ‘m not gonna force it.”

What started out as a routine phone call asking for money ended up with Nora standing out in the cold at about 2 a.m.  She knew this street, it was as shady as the dark corners that covered it, but it made sense for her mother to want to meet there. All she knew was shady. Luckily Nora had gotten wise to her mothers games quickly and knew to ignore her taunts. This time  was different. The phone call had consisted of a carrot being dangled in front of the blondes face. Something she’d wanted, no needed for years and all her mother was asking for it was a measly three hundred dollars. What that woman wouldn’t do for a bag. She could do what she wanted with the money for all Nora cared, as long as she go the answers about her father that she’d been deprived of her entire life up until now.
It seemed as if the answer would never come, though. She had been checking her phone for twenty minutes now and nothing. What solidified it was the cold metal that she felt press against the back of her head. Eyes snapped shut and she pleaded over and over again in her own head that this wasn’t what was happening. All she wanted was a name and here she was with what she could gather by the voice was a man, wanting the golden ticket. “Please don’t do this. I have a family to go home to,” A smart person would have given him the money and avoided the trouble, but she worked hard for her money and she wasn’t about to let it go that easy. “I need this money, please.” It was either lose the key to everything she ever wanted or die and she was running out of time to make that choice.

Crunching numbers and cooking books late into the middle of the night hardly sounded like the most appealing way to spend an evening, but after fighting sleep for half the night, it was something Sawyer could use to keep his mind focused rather than running wild. But by the time two o'clock rolled around, even he had grown tired of it and finally decided to call it a night. As he gunned his Harley away from the clubhouse, the crisp December air nipping at patches of exposed skin, he wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed and bury himself beneath a pile of blankets. But as he paused at a stoplight and peered down an all too familiar street, the unmistakable sight of gunmetal glinting in the moonlight caught his eye. Squinting, it only took Sawyer a fraction of a second to recognize the woman currently being held at gunpoint, and his heart nearly leapt up into his throat. The traffic light flashed green, but he didn't go. Instead, Sawyer pulled over, killed the engine, and nearly tripped over his own two feet clambering down from his bike. What the fuck was Nora Bridges doing on this side of town in the middle of the night? With a gun pointed at her head?
He’d promised both Remi and Jodie that he would look before leaping, that he would play it smart from now on, and yet here he was pulling his Beretta from the waistband of his jeans and aiming it at the unknown man in front of him. But who would he be if he turned a blind eye? Especially if he turned that blind eye on Nora, a woman he and Michael had both sworn to protect? Ignoring that voice in his head that told him to pause and think it through, the biker stepped up and pressed the mouth of his pistol into the back of the man's head and clicked the safety off. “Drop the gun, ya piece of shit," Sawyer ordered, voice calm and even despite the potent mix of adrenaline and rage burning through his blood. "Now." When the man didn't immediately do what Sawyer wanted, he dragged his thumb across the hammer and lowered it with an audible click, “Drop it, or I’ll put a bullet in your goddamn brain,” he swore, tightening his grip on his pistol, because Sawyer Graves was nothing if not a man of his word.

jodiexgraves:
hesitated for a moment, not wanting to downplaying what happened or the situation. “It’s okay,” she said softly, just wanting to make sure he know that she was okay, “It was the right choice.” It was and she knew that. She knew one day, when it right, she’d have a family. “Remi,” she answered honestly, “She went with me to the appointment and I told Laura after a little while. Pretty sure she already knew somehow because, you know, it’s Laura.” There was a small smile on her lips because their aunt always had a way of just know how they felt or what they were thinking about. “Kit was around a lot too,” she offered, “He didn’t know about the baby but he helped things feel - I don’t know, more normal, I guess.” She wasn’t sure how much Sawyer knew, if he knew who was there and who wasn’t. The club kept an eye on her, of course, but it was Kit who was actually present most of the time.
It wasn’t surprising that there were times that Sawyer saw her as his baby sister and couldn’t not protect her, just like there were times she only wanted to go to him. “Yeah,” Jodie cleared her throat, “I even do a pretty good job scaring yours away too, even if I had to wait five years to do it.” Her words made it obvious that she was part of his early release, despite him wanting her to stay far away from it all. She listen to him talk about his state of mind that night and just looked at him, at her brother. Who she saw in front of her right now was not who she saw slamming her ex’s head into pavement. “Just to be clear, I don’t feel bad for Travis,” she started with that, “but I’ve seen you lose your shit before, Sawyer… that was … more than that.” It wasn’t like she could tell him it was wrong to want to hurt the person who hurt someone he loved. And maybe it wasn’t even all about Travis. Maybe a part of him saw James that day, and it was also James he was trying to put in the ground. “Just promise me that it won’t happen again,” she breathed out, “At least in public. Promise me that you’ll be smarter than that.”
Tumblr media
--
Whether it was the right choice or not, it was one that Sawyer wished his sister had never had to face. But it gave him comfort knowing she hadn't had to go through it alone. “Good, good— I’m glad ya had her," he murmured, breathing a soft sigh of relief. Remi was the perfect person to lean on in the middle of a dire situation— Sawyer knew that firsthand. And then there was Laura, who'd been solid as a rock and on their side from the moment they'd come to live with her and Michael all those years ago, “Guess it’s that maternal instinct or some shit," Sawyer offered, chuckling warmly. It didn't surprise him to hear that Kit had been ever present too— he’d made the man promise to be there in his absence, to keep a watchful eye on his family while Sawyer served his time. “Yeah, he’s good at that,” Sawyer murmured, dipping his head in a slow nod. If anyone could help uplift a mood, it was Kit. The tension in Sawyer’s shoulders faded slightly, because while he might not have been able to be there for his sister the way he wanted to, Jodie hadn’t faced the last five years alone, and that thought comforted the biker when little else could.
But the soft smile that had been threatening abruptly faded, replaced by confusion and, if Sawyer was being honest, a bit of worry too. “What?” He asked, head knocking in a brief shake, “What’re ya talkin’ about, Jo?” Unease swirled in the pit of his stomach, followed by a nagging pang of dread. What had she chased away— and more importantly, how? A hard frown furrowed his brow, driving deep worry lines into the plane of his forehead as he eyed her, wondering what in the hell his sister had gotten herself into on his behalf. Unleashing a long sigh, he glanced down at his hands, knowing full well that Jodie wasn’t going to let him off the hook so easily, but he didn’t know what else to tell her about that night. His own sense of denial wouldn’t let him look at it much deeper than that, because that meant confronting issues that stretched way deeper than what had happened five years ago. “Yeah, maybe,” he admitted quietly, shoulders shrugging simply. “But it’s done.” And all he wanted to do was move on from it. He didn’t want to analyze it to death, or pick apart every punch he’d thrown. He just wanted to piece his life back together and do things differently this time— do them better. “From now on, whatever happens…I’ll play it smart,” he began, nodding firmly, “Look before I leap, alright? I promise.” Tentatively, he reached out, lightly closing one of his hands around hers, “Ain’t leavin’ ya again.”

DANI knew her car was old but she’d kept up on all the check ins and gotten all the oils replaced at the right time so she wasn’t too nervous about something being wrong with it because of that alone. Sure, she didn’t have spare money to pay for a big damage but she’d manage like she always did. Maybe pick up some shifts here and there to close the gap a little bit more. It wasn’t exactly the car that was making her heart pound but the fact that he was here. Sawyer. A friend she missed but didn’t know how to speak to anymore. “Thanks, I appreciate that.” She told him with a smile and casually looked around to see if he was the only mechanic or he’d taken her on because he knew her. It didn’t really matter and she didn’t want to think up some false stuff in her head either. “It’s the same one, I wouldn’t change it.” But if he’d texted her or called her, he would have figured that much out on his own. “I’ll be around. I took the morning off so you probably won’t have to call me.” She assured him as she turned around to move to the waiting room and pick up a magazine.

"Yeah, no problem, darlin’,” he murmured, offering a small smile in her direction as he raised his coffee to his lips and drew a long sip. Shifting his weight between his feet, he fell quiet for a moment, unsure of what to say to her and how to act around her now. Sawyer sighed. He'd never expected to feel this way around Dani. She’d been one of the few people in his life he could count on to consistently show up over the five years he spent in prison and now the two of them felt more like strangers— all because he'd found her letter and hadn't felt the same way. "Right," he muttered, head nodding sharply, "Well, I'll get right on it, get ya fixed up." Sawyer started for the garage, eager to remove himself from the awkward equation, but paused in the doorway and sighed. Had she been anyone else, he might have let it be and walked off without another word, but he couldn't. “Hey— ya been doin' alright?" He asked, turning on his heel so that he could face her, “I know it’s been a while— just wanted to check in.”

Summer can’t help but let her eyes open as wide as they can go. She’s not necessarily interested in Sawyer’s sex life but she always knew there was no way he wasn’t doing something— or someone. “Wait, who?” she asks, trying to wrack her brain for anyone Sawyer’s mentioned before. Maybe she was being dense or maybe he wasn’t looking to broadcast things. She can’t say she blames him. Summer’s still keeping whatever is going on between herself and Yasemin to herself. Although, there’s not a ton to speak on, considering they aren’t together. “Well, for one, I’ve never been miserable. That’s in your head,” she tells him. It’s mostly a lie, considering a few years back she was in a dark black hole of mourning her ex-wife but those times are sort of gone. There are days when it hits again but she’s not going to admit to that. “Secondly, maybe when you rub morning sex in people like me’s faces, it makes us feel bad,” she fakes a pout for good measure. “I’ve seen someone on a few dates. Nothing too serious.”

Grinning as he watched Summer’s eyes widen, Sawyer popped a piece of bacon into his mouth and snorted a soft laugh, "Don't look so surprised." Given the patch on his back, his name was practically synonymous with violence, sex, and chaos. "Her name's Remi. She's a nurse in town— dunno if ya know her. But I’m thinkin' it might be the real thing," he divulged, seeing no point in keeping the information to himself. After disco night, he figured it was probably common knowledge around town that they were together now. “Okay— now ya can look surprised,” he laughed, because surely, neither of them had ever pictured Sawyer Graves actually being serious about anyone. He'd never been one to hold onto anyone for more than a night at a time, but now he'd reached a point with Remi where he didn’t want to let go. “Don’t even sit there and act like ya couldn’t have all the mornin’ sex ya want,” Sawyer countered, lifting a brow at her. Summer was a catch, and he knew she didn’t need him of all people to tell her that. Perking up slightly when she mentioned seeing someone, Sawyer set his coffee aside for a moment, "Yeah? Good for you. Think it'll go anywhere?" He asked, more so just to give her a chance to talk it out rather than him trying to appear nosy. Chances were, he didn’t know the person Summer was seeing anyway.

“Yeah? Took about fifteen years off mine so I’d say we’re even.” Kit tried to laugh but his battered and bruised lungs made it sound like a strained wheeze. Throughout their 16 year friendship, the amount of trouble the two had gotten into had been limitless. Although it seemed the deeper they got into the club, the worse that trouble became. Sawyer ending up with a criminal record and five years in prison under his belt, and now Kit had just about managed to step around his death bed. Kit didn’t like to linger on the thought of knowing that had Andy not been driving by just at the right time, Kit’s injuries would’ve been a hell of a lot worse. Sober or not, he would’ve never stood a chance against five men. Maybe the likes of Wyatt and Sawyer would’ve been able to put up a strong enough fight, but Kit had only ever stepped foot into No Names so he could hit on the women coming out of yoga class.
“Yeah well I had to get your attention again somehow after you stormed outta my place.” Kit joked - again. His apartment had been eerily quiet ever since Sawyer had left, causing Kit to throw small parties and invite over guests just to fill that void. Although he supposed it had hurt even more when Sawyer hadn’t come back, he had chosen to stay angry, and Kit had chosen to stay bitter. “M’surprised you came.” he confessed, knowing that Sawyer could’ve very well used this as a ‘told you so’ moment and a good enough reason to cut ties with someone as chaotic and self-sabotaging as Kit. “M’glad you came, though. ‘Cause one of those nurses is real fuckin’ scary.” he exhaled a smile, although truthfully that wasn’t the reason at all. Kit had hoped that Sawyer’s presence meant the two men could go back to being brothers again, because nothing had felt right since Sawyer had quite rightfully walked away.

“Fifteen is puttin’ mildly, bro. Ya look like hammered shit," Sawyer countered, a sly smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. But the warmth of it didn't quite reach his eyes. It couldn't, not while his worry and guilt coiled in his gut like dead weight, refusing to budge. Over the course of their friendship, they'd always pushed at life's boundaries, tempting fate and hoping it never came back to bite them. Sooner or later, it usually did, but never like this. He could hardly look at Kit, knowing just how close he'd come to ending up in a body bag— and knowing that he hadn't done shit to try and prevent that from happening to the man he called his best friend. Instead, Sawyer had stormed out and hadn't thought to look back.
Swallowing hard, the biker rolled his eyes at Kit's joke, hardly allowing himself to see the humor in it. While he wouldn't readily admit it, Sawyer was ashamed that it had taken something like this to bring him face to face with his best friend again. He'd been too angry and too stubborn to be the one to try and mend fences. And now here they were, in a fucking hospital room. "Well, ya got it," Sawyer murmured, glancing down at the collection of rings on his fingers just to avoid meeting Kit's gaze, "For future reference, phone calls work a hell of a lot better." It didn't matter how angry he was though— the moment he'd gotten the call, he'd nearly run his Harley off the road speeding to the hospital. Scoffing quietly, Sawyer slowly peeled his eyes away from his hands, forcing his gaze to meet Kit's, “Of course I came— you’re my best friend, Kit. Even if you’re a fuckin’ idiot.” Sawyer finally cracked a genuine smile, one made warmer by the sound of his laughter as he twisted around, glancing back towards the door in the direction of the nurses station, “Yeah? What’d ya do, try and flirt with her or somethin’?” He asked, hoping to hang onto the lighthearted air between them for just a moment longer.

YASEMIN wasn’t sure what she was doing with her life. While people around her seemed to be happy and starting their lives, she felt stuck in a fucking rut. She was taking whatever people handed her, sleeping with whomever paid her attention, and just completely lost. So, she was a little envious to think that someone like Sawyer who’d been locked up a few months ago had already found the person he wanted to be with. “You’re sure about that? You think you’d be cool to know that Remi was out there sniffing whatever someone put on the table and opening her legs to anyone. Come on. We both know someone isn’t just going to turn a blind-eye to that. I don’t even know if someone would be worth stopping.” She scrubbed at her face and could feel herself being turned off by her own whining. “Sorry, you probably don’t wanna hear this shit.” As always, she began to shut down and forced a smile on her face as if everything had suddenly fixed itself. She sighed at the thought of the guys. “At least I got paid you know. It ain’t always easy with some club members either. When they get mad or drunk, it ain’t always pretty.” Again, not his problem. She smiled when he admitted to being happy, feeling glad that he was. He deserved it. “That’s normal. You’re going to be scared until you eventually fuck something up. You’re human, if you fixate on being afraid of doing something wrong — then you will. You should shift your focus on what you’d do to fix that. We all fuck up, it’s how we come back from that, you know.”

Sawyer pressed his lips into a thin line, knowing full well that he wouldn't be able to stomach the scenario Yasemin was describing. But this wasn't about him or his relationship. It was about Yasemin and what she wanted, and that was something he knew she would have to figure out and decide for herself. If someone was worth breaking old habits for, only she could know, and so Sawyer didn't press the issue. Instead, he lightly shook his head in protest and eased out a soft sigh, "Nah, it's okay. The only shit I don't wanna hear is you puttin' yourself down." He explained, shoulders shrugging simply, "Ya ain’t a bad person, Yas. You've been through some shit, got dealt a bad hand, but that ain't all ya are." Sawyer raised his drink to his lips, "And ya deserve somethin' good— someone good. It's time ya start believin' that." He didn't mean for it to sound harsh or like he was preaching at her, but he wanted to get his point across loud and clear, and as someone who'd always struggled to put his thoughts into words, he could only guess at how she'd receive it. Frowning gently at her words, he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and shook his head again, "Yeah, that ain’t so hard for me to imagine." While he knew that just came with the territory of being a Siren, he still didn't like the idea of Yasemin being subjected to the worst of it. As the conversation shifted though, Sawyer managed a soft smile, finding it hard to argue with what she was saying, even if he knew it was easier said than done. "Ya ain't wrong," he offered, shoulders shrugging. "When I got out early, sorta felt like life handin' me another shot to do things differently— to do 'em better, y'know? I'm tryin'. We’ll see where it goes."

Location: Nearby shopping mall
With: Open!
After what felt like hours perusing the various shops scattered throughout the nearest shopping mall, Sawyer paused in one of the aisles inside his latest stop and unleashed a blustery sigh. He had no idea what he was doing. The most luck he'd had all day had come in the form of the diner style burger and milkshake he'd devoured in the food court earlier. It had satisfied his grumbling stomach, but had done little to check off any names on the short list of people he planned to buy Christmas gifts for. Jamming his hands in his pockets, he stared down at rows of jewelry encased in glass, hoping something would jump out at him. "Christmas shoppin' too?" He asked the person beside him, turning to glance at them with a raised brow. "Been a while since I done this shit," he admitted with a soft laugh. It had been five years, to be exact, and Sawyer was still trying to figure out how to navigate his first Christmas out from behind bars. He hoped to settle back into old traditions, perhaps create a couple new ones, but most of all he hoped to shake all the unease he felt and just enjoy whatever the holiday had to offer him this year. "What do people even want for Christmas nowadays?" Shaking his head, he knocked his toothpick to the other cheek and cursed softly under his breath. "Hope you're better at this than me 'cause I need a few good ideas I can steal."
