I think one of the most interesting forms of media illiteracy common to otherwise literate people (here meaning capable of articulating a theme, understanding prose, etc) is the idea that a complex subject being brought up is the same as a subject being interrogated. the book might contain a depiction of a class conscious interaction but unless the author takes it a step further and says something it is simply a picture. the story is not about your preferred leftist cause unless it. you know. Says The Words.

#look the actual reason this happens is because about ten years ago thr best of the best and the most interconnected fandom people#all got into hockey i should know i was there#like everyones best writer in fandom AND their weirdly popukar friend got into the blackhawks ans penguins#and we were all watching fames together and kiking about boy kissing and although some anount of us stopped watching hockey#because its hqrd to watch! if youre not american/canadian the people who stayed were already VERY INFLUENTIAL#so theres a continuance of people who are good writers influencing ppl into hockey rpf which is over dominated by good writers leading#to a cycle of hockey rpf (124)#let's all blame ofgeography or something#its literally minus two rn my hands are so cold forgive my spelling
