Crt tvs have this adorable little ledge you can rest your thumb on! It allows contact with both the screen and the casing!

Ohhh yeah you can also wrap your hand around the edge while you do it!

Another fun fact is CRT TVS ARE VERY STURDY AND STRONG!

That's right! You can lay your WHOLE ARM on that thing and even a fair bit of your body weight! They dont mind! Its like a big hug!

hi i might asking a question that seems so so obvious but i need to know: is it possible to hold a crt in your lap without your legs getting crushed (and/or can you hold ace in your lap)

Depends on the weight of your CRT. Smaller models, yes!

Ace weighs about 27 pounds and while I have held him in my lap before, I do NOT recommend it unless you have very strong support underneath you and are doing it for a very short amount of time!

We get it! you want to hug and cuddle your CRT TV!

If you crave physical contact with your CRT television, use a flat surface and lay it at an angle against you so you arent taking the full weight.

Remember, CRTs carry most their weight in the front/screenside so make sure the front is properly secured so you dont drop it before cuddling up to your TV

I just found out one of my favorite AO3 authors of all time is a fucking neurosurgeon which was surprising initially just because I often forget AO3 writers are real people and not smut angels sent down from the heavens to make us feel alive, but in hindsight it makes perfect sense.

“Why the fuck the little scroll bar has these little horizontal lines?!” OK, i will tell you … this is to mimic little raised ridges the ridges would provide friction with a finger, if it was a physical slider … this intuitively tells you that the strange object is to be slid like a slider … this is known as … “Skeuomorphic design”! online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.

and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.

there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't think anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
