Mad Max   Films of 2018   Not Recommended
Not what I expected at all and not the production quality I was expecting. The whole time I was like why can’t I understand what the actors are saying, but my mom said the same thing.

Spoiler free review
Even though the show looked interesting through the trailer, I was very hesitant about watching Sharp Objects because it’s adapted by a book written by Gillian Flynn who also wrote Gone Girl. I hated that movie. But obviously I’m here writing a review about the whole mini-series. I enjoyed most of the episodes, even the episodes I didn’t find interesting weren’t bad, they were just a bit boring. A lot of people, including myself, found most of the episodes to drag on, but this show heavily involves unraveling the characters, which I didn’t mind at all. The last two episodes were the best of the season and one could probably just watch those episodes and probably understand most that happened in the rest of the series, though I suggest watching the whole series. What I really admired about the show was how complex the characters were and how their actions and words were influenced by their relationships with one another. If you like crime shows, great female performances, or just well-written characters, this show is for you.

Rewatch Review   X-Men: First Class   Recommended
My favorite superhero movie after The Dark Knight, but I also watched this on a plane and didn’t enjoy it as much as I typically do. How annoying.

Rewatch Review   Bridget Jones’ Baby   Recommended
Even though I love Bridget Jones as a character and still enjoyed this movie, I think for some reason watching movies on a plane makes me not enjoy them as much as I typically would.

Mission Impossible:Fallout   Films of 2018   Recommended?
I did enjoy this, especially watching this in theaters, but I wouldn’t say this is the best out of the series.

Rewatch Review   22 Jump Street   Recommended
Loved the first one, was disappointed by this when I first saw it. Seeing it now, I actually laughed and didn’t hate it. Though they did try too hard with the sequel and didn’t succeed.

Rewatch Review   Austin Powers: The Spy that Shagged Me   Recommended?
I barely remember this movie when I first saw it years ago. I barely remember any of the Austin Powers movies to be honest, but I think this wasn’t the funniest one out of all of them.

Friday the 13th   Films of 2018   Recommended?
I remember seeing the trailers for this when it first came out, wanting to watch it, but I was afraid of horror movies back in the day. Saw this on a Friday which was the 13th of course. I don’t think the movie is as bad as the reviews say it is, but obviously there are better horror movies and remakes out there.

The Year of Spectacular Men   Films of 2018   Recommended
Another Zoey Deutch film, surprise. I was looking forward to this because I saw myself in Maddie Deutch (far left) as a script writer but also in the character that she played. Often relatable and some solid scenes between the family, the main problem I had with this was that the title of the movie makes it seem like a romantic movie, but it really is about the female characters/ family relationships. Which isn’t a bad thing because like I said it’s the best part of the film, but the problem is that the scenes between Izzy and the men in her life, you first meet them, with short scenes between them and then the breakups. The film also felt like a lot of scenes were deleted because I wanted more from the film and it felt like it was trying to say more. Overall I really enjoyed watching the Deutch family on screen together, as well as them writing, directing, and producing together off screen. I definitely am looking forward to more projects with them together, especially Maddie.

Set It Up   Films of 2018   Not Recommended
I am a fan of Zoey Deutch (pictured above), so I already planned on watching this even before the movie got good reviews. I am quite surprised by all the good reviews it got and even though I do miss rom-coms, this isn’t going to revive the genre. The main focus of the movie is the boring aspect of the assistants setting up their boss, but of course at the end it’s really about the assistants more than anything and that’s the problem. Once the assistants started hanging out on their own time, it was fun and cute, but we see very little of their cute moments together.

Some how I went into watching this without even knowing what’s it about. Though there were times I did laugh, overall not entertaining and forgettable.

Game Night   Films of 2018   Not Recommended
Considering this got a 80-something on Rotten Tomatoes, I had very high expectations of this movie. It wasn’t funny nor entertaining, the only thing I liked was some of the pop culture references it made.

Rewatch Review   Twilight   Recommended
I couldn’t name the last time I saw this. I never read the books nor saw all of the movies of the franchise, but I really do enjoy this movie. I didn’t actually watch it, I watched it with the commentary of the director, KStew and RPattz because I’ve seen comedic stills of some of the stuff Pattinson said. Since they were commenting the whole movie, I did have the movie’s subtitles though, it was very hard to pay attention to both so I still want to rewatch the movie without the commentary.

Incredibles 2   Films of 2018   Recommended
The first one was my favorite Pixar movie and I saw it in theaters with my dad 14 years ago, so it was only suiting that he were to take me as an adult on Father’s Day. Even though it is not as good as the first, it was still super thrilling and entertaining, I loved it. Another great thing is that you saw a different side to most of the characters.
