Watching the Captain Kronos blu ray (The slimline version, not the huge boxset - I'm not made of money!) full screen 1:37:1 version and imagining it's just the first episode of a long TV series.

Guest writers of any experience level needed, as many as we can get!
The road is not so long, but there are several stops one may make along it. Villages, shrines, inns… and not one of these stops shall we make for each destination along this path is overshadowed by horror, and strangeness, and impossibility. I have walked this path so often, no time has been the same, but I shall do my best to guide you past these dark places…
I would tell you the tale of each rest stop not taken, but I needn’t do so… You will be seeing them soon enough, as soon as you close your eyes…
‘The road is not so long’ is an anthology show told through the nightmares of Annabelle Turner as she walks the weary path to the Manor house of Elizabeth and Gregory Hawker, her parents. She’s there in search of her younger brother Samuel Turner who set off in search of their birth parents after the brutal deaths of their adoptive family
Each episode is a story about a stop not taken along the road; this can be anything your heart desires from a fountain to a village! As long as it is a notable stop along the road (Even a park bench would do).
Writers should feel free to explore the supernatural/sci-fi/psychological as long as it falls under the category of definitively weird horror! We can also do stuff on pretty much any scale, from single person narration to full audio plays
Writers are also encouraged to play with the medium however they like, the weirder the better! I cannot encourage you enough to send in whatever idea comes to your mind.
To apply please DM or email me at [email protected]
Just send in a short bio, your discord username, and any previous work you want me to take a gander at.
Of course, we will be needing pitches a little down the lane and you should feel free to send those in (as many as you want) whenever you desire but all we’re needing right now are expressions of interest

You probably haven't listened to Tales from the Scarlet Vault, part of the Scarlet Vault Presents podcast. That's ok.
It's not for everyone, only deeply cool individuals.

Should I read a Supernatural Sherlock or Rivals of Dracula story? Perhaps I'll do one of both!

The latest episode of my Tales from the Scarlet Vault podcast, the Guilded Cage, features a lead character inspired by Lara Croft Tomb Raider. The villain, Count Molina, is of course based on Paul Naschy. it's these little references and homages that make writing the episodes fun for me.

If you're as old and stupid as me you may occasionally find yourself buying again something you owned and chucked when younger. Digging out the VCR to see if Curse of the Vampire is as good as 19 year old me thought!

I'm enjoying a lot of Mexican horror lately. Fernando Méndez's Black Pit of Dr. M (Misterios de ultratumba) is a great twisty film about the perils of letting the dead have an influence over life

Crazy about black and white horror at the moment. Recently watched Murders in the Rue Morgue - enjoyed Lugosi's performance in the film, which surprised me a few times with how shocking it is, mostly in the early scenes in which a 'lady of the night' is kidnapped.

The latest episode 'Only Natural' dropped a few days ago. A spicy ep, as we haven't done one for a while, the inspirations for this were the Wicker Man and a half remembered episode of the X Files about a succubus. The stone circle mentioned at the start is inspired by the Rollright Stones near Oxford, a place where I tried dowsing for the first time. I remember the pull on the rods very clearly!
