sometimes i stay up at night dreaming scenarios of you if you were still around. i got your ashes on my jeans and i don’t know how to feel about it

yknow sometimes you’re doing good and then you wake up and it’s your birthday and it’s been four months since your friend died and you’ll always be older than him. and his mom sends you a card and a pair of cassette earrings and you think back to that christmas a year ago when you gave him a cassette player and a bunch of your old tapes. and you cry on your birthday because he’ll be fifteen forever and no one’s ever gonna be there to tell you that you’re getting old when you get to school.
