miscellaneous post-recovery Curlys. I hc that eventually he goes back to the gym and he wears hideous clothes in weird colors so that he can lie to himself and say people aren’t staring at him, they’re looking at his fugly outfit.
If you tag this b*dy h*rror I’m sending you bad vibes so you step on a lego.

Mastercard and visa have reported to a couple news outlets that they are currently being swamped with calls and complaints. Keep up the pressure and try to (politely) insist that you leave a complaint via phone instead of letting the rep direct you to emails. It's way easier to be overwhelmed by a much smaller number of calls so each one counts for a bit more!

Here’s my submission for the @jewsinfandoms Growth prompt. All four chapters can be read on AO3.
The Family by believeinluck
Summary: Scully and Langly butt heads while Scully starts to plan Mulder's Catholic funeral.
TW "death", grief, final wishes not being respected
Notes: This is a fix-it-fic for the fact that Mulder was given a Christian funeral in Season 8. Even if he's not supposed to be Jewish (and who knows with those writers), him having a Christian funeral is deeply weird and in my opinion, disrespectful to who he was as a person. But of course CC just had to clumsily foreshadow his resurrection. *Eye roll*
It's also fun to write a fic where Scully gets some justified pushback for how she can behave at times, and explore how The Lone Gunmen might feel sidelined by Scully's taking precedence in Mulder's life.

There is a fire in my heart that no one can see‼️
This is the Third time I’ve lived through the brutality of hunger its harshness, its silence.
I walk through the streets of the city and find nothing to feed my children.
🩸The first time was last year, when I documented my situation holding onto a piece of bread after over a month of deprivation.
🩸The second time was 6 months ago when I brought some flour for my family and I was very tired because it was a very long walk.
🩸Now, I’m reliving that same pain.
The helplessness before my children, the heartbreak, it feels like I’m failing as a father. This is the very definition of powerlessness. I am of no use to them.💔💔
*Do you feel the weight of this hunger in my heart?
*Can you hear the cries of my children’s empty stomachs?
*Is anyone out there listening?
*Can anyone help us or Or convey the voice of this hunger to those who can help us?
Please donate, we are in dire need of your humanity. I hope you will not leave us to die in this harsh hunger. We want to feel that there is someone we can rely on to lighten this burden a little.
My campaign is verified on Gazavetters under # (88).

One thing that annoys me when people write trans Herbert west is that some people, who I am assuming aren’t trans, just don’t understand what that’s like. He’s a trans man. He’s a guy. I’ve read a few fics where it went “he wasn’t like other guys… he was different in some way…” and then it’s revealed that he’s trans. Guys. Come on. If you’re gonna write him as trans, please commit to do doing so because it pains me as transmasc myself to read about things like Oh Herbert is just very effeminate he’s not like other guys! Because he’s trans… and Dan only being interested in Herbert after it’s revealed he’s trans and other things like that!! it all just comes off very insensitive and maybe. You should not do that. reminder that trans men aren’t just weird girls.

now that the mouthwashing bug has calmed down in the general populace i feel safe enough to admit. i dont think daisuke wouldve done anything for anya and it feels just as tone deaf to have him beat up jimmy as having swansea come in to kill jimmy when he knows in game and still doesnt do anything. ignoring that anya shouldnt have to run to her male coworkers for saving, why would daisuke, an easily swayed young man, desperate for his male peers' approval, go against jimmy, arguably the person he seems to want to be friends with the most? daisuke even talks about getting with chicks more than once that even jimmy is like uhhh ok. sure theres escapism and feel good fix it fics or whatever, but like. you like these characters for how human they are. daisuke is not without his flaws, and that is narratively what the whole game is About.

you cannot talk about the homophobic murder of jonathan joss without including in the conversation that he is indigenous.
american indian men are at the 2nd highest risk of death by murder compared to all other ethnic groups. in their lifetimes, 82% of native men report having experienced domestic violence. yet the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are non-natives (88% of native men and 92% of native women who reported violence said their attacker was non-native). what’s more, tribal governments are often stymied in their attempts to bring justice against non-natives, meaning that many of these cases go unresolved.
this was an intersectional attack. the fact that he is indigenous matters, even if the motivation was homophobic, because it made him even more vulnerable and disposable in the eyes of his killer.
as always, look into MMIWP to learn more, and speak up for us. miigwetch, take care

Are you 🫵 pissed off about the Lilo and Stitch monstrosity remake? Do you want to know how you can actually make a difference in supporting the people and ecosystems of Hawaii?
Tourism is a big issue in Hawaii (which the remake got rid of the original's commentary on because it makes foreigners look bad). I'm not gonna promote it, BUT I know that realistically, thousands of people arrive here every single day by the airplane-ful. And the majority of them aren't educated on the socio-cultural and economic impacts of tourism. SO, I'm making this post in an effort to educate visitors. If you or someone you know is visiting or moving to Hawaii (whether by circumstances in or out of your control), here are some suggestions on how you can give back!
You can donate to the Hawaii Community Foundation, which has been instrumental in giving aid to the displaced community of Lahaina after the Maui wildfires in 2023. They also provide scholarships to students of under-represented communities.
If you're interested in visiting Kualoa Ranch, you can do their Mālama Experience where you get your hands dirty giving back to the ‘āina (land)!
There are other organizations you can join to volunteer with, too, like Kupu and Mālama Maunalua. Check them out; maybe you can help with a beach cleanup or plant native trees! These are both non-profit organizations that accept monetary donations.
Visit the Bishop Museum to learn about Hawaiian history and culture! They also have events focused on sustainability and conservation.
If you're visiting Hilo on the Big Island, go visit the Laulima Nature Center! They're a non-profit aimed at protecting Hawaii's native species, and they even have an online store that ships to the US mainland and internationally! (After I post this, I'm gonna head on over and get myself a manu o Kū pin ♡)
A few other tips I have:
DO: Respect the locals' homes. Several beaches and hiking trails have access points in residential areas. Please be mindful to keep your voices down when passing by, and park ONLY in designated parking areas.
DO: Wear reef-safe sunscreen! Sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate are banned in Hawaii because they are known to damage coral reefs.
DON'T: Approach wildlife, particularly honu (sea turtles) and 'īlio holo i ka uaua (Hawaiian monk seals). Stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from turtles and at least 50 feet (15 meters) away from monk seals. If you see someone harassing animals, report them to the statewide NOAA Marine Wildlife Hotline: (888) 256-9840. You can also contact the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources.
DON'T: Collect sand, rocks, or other natural items to bring home with you. This is to protect the ecosystems and also out of respect for Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians), who have cultural beliefs regarding lava rocks in particular. Taking lava rocks is extremely disrespectful.
DON'T: Litter! Please throw away your waste in proper trash cans. If you see a bin that says "ʻōpala," that's a trash can!
Many Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians) are moving to the US mainland because the cost of living in Hawaii has been driven up so high (because of people moving here), they can't afford to live in their ancestral home. So, if you are going to visit or move to Hawaii, please:
- Make the effort to support local businesses, especially those owned by Native Hawaiians!
- Educate yourself and your loved ones about actual Hawaiian culture!
- Try Hawaiian food, like poi!
- Learn some Hawaiian words and don't be afraid to ask how to pronounce words correctly!
- Donate to a food bank!
- Watch films and read books written by Native Hawaiians!
My hope is that whoever sees this post will use it to educate themselves, their friends, and their families who are considering visiting.
My background is in sustainability and the environment, so that's what I know to suggest off the top of my head. If any Kānaka Maoli read this post and have suggestions to add, please do!
