WHEN: Friday, 4 June, 1980; evening WHERE: The Drunken Dragon, Cardiff WHO: A.J. Runcorn & Rita Skeeter ( @ritaxskeeter )
As A.J. brought the cigarette to his lips, his eyes met a vaguely familiar face; it took only a few seconds before it all came back to him. “Are you going to push another French martini onto me?”
Rita was drinking her second French martini when she heard a familiar voice, “Only if you want one,” she smirked a little before finishing her drink.

Rowan shrugged. “I left more than I took.”
Rita rolled her eyes, “I don’t know about that.”

Percy ordered the drink without hesitation, along with a Blishen’s for himself. The bartender was quick making them, and Percy slid the cocktail across the bar to the witch. “Here.”
Rita waited for her drink, taking a second to glance at him quickly and took her drink when it was given to her. "Thanks," she took a sip and went back to looking at him. "Are you a local here then?"

Percy hadn’t, but as he subtly glanced the witch over, he decided he could be. He held two fingers up to the bartender to get their attention, then turned to her. “Looks like it, love. What are you drinking?”
Rita looked at the man, well she couldn’t do any worse, right? As long as he was buying the drinks then she would sit with him and see what his company was like. “I’ll have a margarita,” she tapped her fingernails on the bar for a few seconds, before looking back to the man. She felt like she knew him for some reason, maybe he used to go to Hogwarts while she was there. Maybe.

Where: The Three Broomsticks

Rita was doing an article on dating through the FiendFire app and was supposed to meet her date for the evening at the bar. She hadn’t seen them yet but someone was approaching the bar and this could be them. “Are you meeting someone for a date tonight?”

Rita knew he wasn’t being genuine with his words but she couldn’t care less, she was in a mood now with everything that had just happened and if she wasn’t at work in ten minutes then her boss would be livid. “I’ll remember that. Wouldn’t want to get robbed, now.”
“Just some advice for the future, yeah?” said Hayden before he walked off leaving her to her endeavors and heading to work himself.

RITA SKEETER.
Rita nodded, “Everyone has their drink of choice.” She for one couldn’t stand beer, it reminded her of her years at Hogwarts and the memories that came with that. Sometimes she wished she could forget. “Beer and I have a complicated history.”
Complicated? A.J. almost asked, had their wristwatch not captured their attention. They slid the remaining contents of beer down their throat and then left a few coins on the bar. “Maybe I’ll hear about that complicated history some other time.” Or not—A.J. often let the wind blow them without resistance. Without sharing another word, they left.

“To you it might not be important but it is to me!” Rita didn’t care what this woman thought of her, “I don’t make it a habit to run into people, but sometimes it happens.” Not that she had to answer to her, “If that’s all you wanted to ask, I have places to be and they don’t include spending another moment in your company.”
.
Usually Emma would have fought to have the last word, but with some people, they simply weren’t even worth her energy. That was the case today as Emma sent one last glare towards Rita, and stomped away.

“Oh yes, I’m sure it’s all life-saving paperwork that you’re carrying around without a thought in the world. Do you often run into people?” Emma wasn’t in the mood. Not in the slightest.

He knew the words weren’t disingenuous but still he replied with, “You’re quite welcome. Probably a good lesson in looking where you’re going. That s’how you get robbed, you know.”

“I’m not creeping. I’m walking around the same way I do any other day.” He looked over at the couple Rita was spying on. “Looks like they’re leaving.”
Rita turned around to see the couple were leaving, "That's fine. I think I got what I wanted anyway." She turned back to him, "I would say it was nice meeting you but I would be lying," she said before walking off.

A.J. shrugged nonchalantly. “See, I’m a wixen of simple pleasures. Cheap beer does the job just fine.”
Rita nodded, “Everyone has their drink of choice.” She for one couldn’t stand beer, it reminded her of her years at Hogwarts and the memories that came with that. Sometimes she wished she could forget. “Beer and I have a complicated history.”

“Alright then. Why are you observing?” He didn’t really care it was none of his business.
“Again none of your business.” Rita kept her arms crossed, giving him a pointed look. “What were you doing creeping around Diagon Alley? What are you up to?”

“Alright, I’ll bite. What is it?” A.J. couldn’t decide if they were actually interested, but they still asked anyway.
"It's vodka, raspberry liquer and pineapple juice." Rita didn't have to think about what was it in, she had drunk enough to know what it would go in them. "They're actually very nice if you're looking for something new to try."
