Reading fics in which Peter is present and well developed as one of the Marauders is so great but it also makes me so conflicted because it makes it much harder for me to hate him. Like the more I read I feel less mad and more sad because he was never a malicious person he was just driven by fear and it makes me feel so horrible that this young boy experienced this horrific war and was pushed to his breaking point so as not to care about anyone or anything but his own protection. But also like fuck him because he killed my OTP and his actions destroyed the lives of so many other people. And I can’t honestly defend him, even if I feel for him. He’s just really human and a really fantastic character and I simultaneously love and hate thinking about him.
