I mean, I AM intentionally trying to create a linen capsule wardrobe for Fucking Goddamn Climate Change Summer. But the navy and powder blue is getting a little excessive. It's a nice combination, but I know you can dye linen other colors. Other colors that aren't see through, even.

I have acquired new linen pants, bringing me to 9/14 for my week of linen capsule wardrobe. One shirt was thrifted, everything else came from TJ Maxx. Finding shirts that aren't see through is an issue, but 10/10 recommend TJ Maxx for linen clothes if you can spend $15-$25 per item.
The closest experience I've ever had to discovering "the vitamin" was buying a 100% wool outfit and wearing it in the winter.
Not only was I not freezing anymore, I was not sweating and overheating either. The horrible sensory nightmare of winter clothes disappeared.
In particular, I bought a pair of wool pants. They were a thrifted pair of fancy dress pants like you would wear at an important office job, and they were easily the most comfortable pair of winter-appropriate pants i'd ever worn. I wore them Every Single Day.
From that point on I realized a lot of my clothes were making me feel bad, and the common thread was polyester. Especially polyester blends.
It's a trap because the polyester clothes are the ones that always feel sooooo silky soft when they are in the store, whereas cotton, linen and wool can feel comparatively rough and scratchy. But when actually wearing them for hours throughout the day, it's the natural fibers that feel more comfortable.
Maybe the secret to sensory comfort is not about the presence of softness, but the absence of overloading sensations. Or maybe the sensory stress and agony is not triggered by texture of the fabric, but by how it breathes and regulates temperature.
Then there's the problem of clothing life span: polyester blends, no matter how soft they seem at first, become rough and scratchy and covered in hard, itchy pills after wearing them 10 or 20 times, whether or not they have been tumble-dried or even washed at all. (I tested it!) Linen and cotton become softer and more comfy the more you wear them, polyester but ESPECIALLY polyester blends become a constant stressor. Polyester blend t-shirts I used to love for their softness now feel bristly and irritating.
So now I'm trying to change my wardrobe to as many natural fibers as possible, and the more natural fiber clothes i have the more I realize that the plastic fibers stress me out. It's so easy to overheat or freeze in them and they're always degrading and becoming less comfortable and it sucks.

One of my many, MANY hot takes is that family court judges should be disbarred when a kid they granted (joint) custody of gets killed by a parent. And they should go on a publicly available list that prevents them from working with children in any other capacity, either.
Judge "The Family Annihilator Looks Like Such a Nice Man When You Ignore the Constant DV Calls from his Lying **** Wife" cannot be trusted to prevent familial kidnapping at daycare. It's not a likely career change, but if the world were made of pudding we might as well nix that too.

I hadn't appreciated what an absolute marvel of public health it is that I had NO cavities until I was in my mid twenties. And, apparently, I have "deep molars" that are more likely to get food stuck in them and develop cavities.

I already want to do it, but I'd *DOUBLE* set up a solar battery system out of spite if I had my own home/ apartment. Trump wants the coal power plants fired up against state's wills? Too bad- they gotta be shuttered to keep the Grid balanced if there's not enough electricity demand.

I didn't see it mentioned, BUT you're gonna have to use a media player that doesn't recognize Cinavia to play those digital copies. You cannot burn a disk and play it on a DVD/ Blu-ray player. VLC is great and free. And MakeMVK is free for Blu-ray *while in beta*- you'll have to go to the website and renew access with a code every once in a while after your free trial ends, and eventually it may go to paid access only.
You can also use streaming DVR services! I use PlayOn Cloud since I don't have great internet.
you guys know you can get USB connectable CD, dvd, and blu-ray players right. and you can buy external hard drives with crazy amounts of space for an amount of money that would make the average person from 2009’s head explode bc of how cheap it is. and if you do this and get ripping software such as handbrake for CDs and DVDs and makeMKV for blurays you can both own a physical copy of whatever media you want and make it accessible to yourself no matter where you are. do you guys know this

tis the spooky season so have some spooky natsume, because I’m still in love w/ the idea of people w strong youkai sight having literal cat eyes, and it’s especially good for spooky aesthetics
(also recorded the process of this so I’ll be uploading a speedpaint of it to my patreon in the next few days! Tumblr has decided it hates links today so I can’t post it here but the link is in my bio if anyone is interested)

I decided to just go ahead and post the first chapter of my Natsuyuu fanfic if you want to read it! I will be making chapter visuals and doodles in my tumblr anyways so I might as well post any art related to it. It will be ~30-40k and it’s really just an exploration of Natori and his struggles.
Paper Dolls and Shattered Pottery
Chapters: 1/8 Fandom: Natsume Yuujinchou | Natsume’s Book of Friends Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Relationships: Matoba Seiji/Natori Shuuichi Additional Tags: Natori Shuuichi-Centric, Past Child Abuse, Character Study, Hurt/Comfort, Non-Linear Narrative, Angst, Canon Compliant
Summary:
It was late September, halfway through his second year in High School. The leaves were starting to turn a deep auburn. He was sixteen, his hair was overgrown and his nails were perpetually stained dark after arduously practicing his calligraphy and suibokuga.
He got into a habit of copying the ofuda he found in the warehouse, using trial and error to figure out what they could do.
At its most it was just a hobby, something to pass the time until he was a grown up. At most, it was an act of rebellion that acknowledged the rot inside of him.
I can’t try to ignore it anymore, the most I can do is find a way to be free of it all.

reading this now i can see why the exorcist world was gossiping abt it so much lol two past matoba rivals from "failed" clans suddenly working together would definetly be concerning to the status quo, but bc it's natsume's pov we only get a passing comment here, in miharu arc and most importantly in homura where natori actually is helping matoba instead
now i'm rethinking some things abt this situation, like seiji pointing out that natori was working with yorishima was pretty run of the mill bc he spies on natori ever since world unbent (and loooves some gossip as we know it), but having matsuzaki comment on it in the first homura chapter kinda implies that natori and yorishima getting closer recently is well known amongst exorcists and when you top this off with matsuzaki conspiring with shinobu and offering patronage to natori, well it puts things into perspective
which makes me think if natori was sly enough to make his new association with yorishima obvious to other exorcists on purpose, bc let's face it, if what you see on the surface is this would you ever think natori was matoba's personal informant? like idk if he was thinking abt "sharing burdens" ever since yorishima's introduction chapter, but these circunstances definetly make, i'm assuming, majority of exorcists not even consider him as a "support" for the matoba head, but maybe not shinobu tho

Why does Matoba look so Baby in this panel. Not this entire chapter, just a few panels.

Baby!

Evil grown up again!
Lol, every one of his clients (and most of his associates) is confused and terrified by his Creepy Child Prodigy shtick. I wish I had the drawing skills to illustrate how this would have started as a middle or high school exorcist taking on way too many adult responsibilities.

[ID: Panels from chapter 49 of the Natsume's Book of Friends manga. Tanuma asks, "What's in that jar? It looks...weird." Nyanko-sensei in his Takashi form smirks and says, "There's something very interesting inside." Tanuma looks taken aback and shivers, then says, "You're not Natsume, are you..." /end ID]
[Panels from special chapter 19. Bird sounds are coming from a covered birdcage. Natsume says, "I'm surprised...Mr. Matoba, you like birds?" Matoba smirks and says, "Heh, it's not a bird in here." Natsume looks taken aback and says, "What...?" /end ID]
i just love sensei's move being exactly the same as matoba's many chapters later. got a mysterious container that someone can't see into? why not be creepy about it. sensei is always turning his nose up at these exorcist brats but how different are they really. they both understand showmanship and how fun it can be to mess with a naive teen who's interrupting them in the middle of an important mission. they could be bonding over this! if only.

After coming across some official art, I have the headcanon that when Natsume's life comes to an end, :( he will become one of the strongest youkai. Seeking to mediate between humans and non-humans, advocating for the freedom and well-being of all.
