Sheesh....did Gareth Edward's shoot Tony Gilroy's dog or something? Did Felicity Jones?
Don't get me wrong, Andor (both Seasons but definitely S1) is a brilliantly timely, chefs-kiss-well-made, truly adult drama about building a Rebellion against authoritarianism, with a soundtrack to die for and holy jesus those people can act! (Maarva''s Funeral 馃槶, the entire Prison arc!!! the Gorman Massacre!) Awards all round.!!!
But hell.....can somebody involved not say a single nice word about Jyn Erso? As a character at least? Or even about Rogue One at all? I get it, Gilroy despises fan fiction but does he also hate Rogue One fans in general? Was it absolutely necessary to go on and on in interviews about how he'd never actually watched Rogue One in all these years?

(i am guilty of rebels being my favorite star wars show, its so underrated)
also genevieve o'reilly even voices mon mothma in that episode!
y'all go watch it while andor 2x09 is fresh in your head

so im also furious about the instant lesbian death but i don't wanna ignore the fact that this arc also gave drug plotlines to three of our most major characters of color. and then killed the fourth one. i think that's really relevant.

Seen some talk about the relative paucity of nonhumans from Andor and I think it's something I'm happy to let slide within the show itself... but I would really love to see some nonhuman perspectives in Andor-adjacent media. I'd kill to get a view of Riyo Chuchi's perspective, or the Togrutas (only two or three chancellors before Palpatine the Republic's head of state was a Tog - isn't it wild that that feels impossible just two decades later?), Mon Calamari or the Bothans.

Should have been prepared for the third episode of Andor to deliver all the gut punches - since, you know, it's Andor.
But I wasn't.
I was already kinda shaky and on edge given certain events with Bix, and my heart sank even when Brasso seemed to be getting away because I just had a feeling... But it was Cassian's face in that last scene - just, dead expression, numb, frozen in shock even as he keeps going through the motions to get himself and the others out of there because they have to go, another piece of himself ripped away and he just keeps moving forward because he doesn't dare look back, he can't afford to look back - that's when I started bawling.
(Though I had to appreciate the contrast between Cassian and co's shocked silent heavy grief following the adrenaline rush of a desperate fight to escape, and Mon's desperate attempts to stop herself from overthinking and over-feeling by getting herself drunk and losing herself in traditions that she normally finds distasteful because she has no other means of escape left to her.)

I鈥檝e gone into it a some my Post-Scarif stuff as jplus but most of my stuff is massive Michener-length sagas so you gotta wade a bit. Sorry
I鈥檝e been desperately scouring ao3 for days, trying to find fics featuring cassians relationship with chirrut and baze, and I鈥檓 so disappointed by the lack.
Hopefully that鈥檒l change soon, but until then does anybody have fic recs? Any platform works. It doesn鈥檛 even have to include baze and/or chirrut, any cassian-centric fic set around rogue one works! Bonus points if there鈥檚 themes of found family tho

The bunnies are protesting the Ban on Refugees. The bunnies will not let this kind of stuff go unchallenged....even if they are unstuffed and floppy.

It is with deep sadness that the bunnies report the passing of three of their own. 聽Jasper, Monster Boy and Bird Who Needs to Tell You Something, were proudly representing their cause in the recent Small Works show at the former Arsenal Center for the Arts, when they were smashed by an unknown person. Adding to the grief and pain of their friends and family, they were not treated as artists or creatures of value, but tossed on a floor and their broken pieces thrown in the trash. Their fate was unreported until their remains were found by their comrades. The bunnies know their purpose in the world and feel pride and joy to leave their nest and bring delight and simple wisdom to those who take them home. They will persevere, but today our hearts lie broken with our friends.聽

Stuffed in corners, boxes and bags and hoping for new venues in the new year. The Gallery Shop at Arsenal Center for the Arts has closed its doors forever. Where will the lads and lasses go now to meet their adoring public? Suggestions?
