Hey, uh, so for some reason, my brain is convinced that Big Mama is the Tang Shen of ROTTMNT??? I can't stop thinking about it for some reason. Big Mama isn't a name, it's a moniker! She's the romantic partner Splints almost marries and is intelligent and beautiful like previous Tang Shen's are described, only thing missing is kindness but I'd argue that since all the characters had at least one trait altered then her kindness was replaced with her slyness. I mean, its not like she isn't nice, friendly or polite but none of that translates to kind beyond the illusion of it. Esp since she presents herself as a maternal figure who even mothers her enemies (she scolds the turtles on numerous occasions when they fight, her 'name' is Big Mama, I'm even p sure she pats someone on the head at some point). My brain is convinced she would have been revealed as Tang Shen had we gotten a s3. Has this been said before???? Anyone else???

Before anything else I need you to know that when I checked my phone just now and saw the words ""This is why I LOVE his evil/sl*t arc..." in my notification bar, I choked because I gasped while simultaneously wheezing, resulting in me being stunlocked from shock.

This is such a wonderful addition to my post, I've NEVER thought of his Raven Blood Arc like that before, but you're absolutely right, and I'm obsessed with this now. I absolutely cannot wait to get back to that arc with this in mind. It changes how I remember it so vastly that I must get to watch it go down with the new eyes I was just handed here omg

Rewatching Princess Tutu and yk how a lot of people think of Mytho as a character with no personality? I'm thinking that might not true at all even before he gets his heart shards back. He's lacking a lot of things but one thing he doesn't is kindness, something I think is his biggest and most important trait. Spraining his ankle to catch a girl who trips, diving out a window to catch a baby bird, even something simple like closing his book to give whoever is addressing him his full attention (Ig this one is more manners tho huh?)? He actually has to be instructed to stop being a hero bc the minute he is out of Rue & Fakir's sight he wanders into helping others. I REALLY like that we get to see him stripped down to his bare essentials because of his missing heart and almost wish we'd gotten one more episode of him completely shardless bc it doesn't last long (I wouldn't change it fr but just a thought)

With how indifferent and passive Mytho usually is, you'd think he'd watch a blaze go up and drift right by it but no! He'd rush in the minute he suspects someone or something is inside and it's part of the reason Fakir is so strict about where he is bc Mytho is a professional self sacrificial lamb (lack of better phrasing). Another thing I noticed abt him before he gets a shard is that he had a habit of rebelling in little ways, he is really obedient when the order is something to be done immediately, "Dance with me" for example but the minute he gets a longterm instruction like "dont wander off" he just...doesnt listen. Fakir is constantly running after him bc he'll just decide to be at an empty school at the crack of dawn or in the fucking woods. After Tutu starts collecting the shards for him he becomes more complex in thoughts and actions but those things never really change and it's so intriguing to me.

Fight Falls Question

I never really got as far into the other Gravity Falls aus besides Reverse Falls (bc it had the most content) but I liked Fight Falls tho I could never find anything other than Mabel and Dipper's personality sheets, random comics (I could never find the artists of so I refused to read them) and a handful of Reverse Fight Falls cosplays that I'm pretty sure was all from the same person. I do not understand this one and cannot find anyone talking abt it minus a screenshot of the tumblr thread that made the first image. Can literally anyone explain how Reverse Fight Falls goes down? I get Fight Falls (kinda), they fight more and are kinda like the delinquents with a heart of gold trope but ReverseFight looks like Carnies to me. Why is it circus themed? Is it just Og Reverse Falls in red with white hair for no reason?? What is that about???

it's very sad that characterization-via-honorifics is often difficult to impossible to translate out of Japanese, because I really like the things this contrast implies about Mytho and Rue's personalities...

Watched Monster High: Ghouls Rule recently and I do NOT remember every single plotline ending so...badly?? Like,, the ending of the main plot abt discrimination, the police's active role in the mistreatment of othered innocents and the pitfalls of prejudice being resolved with a party aside, bc that's par for the course with some children's media (despite the fact that they were going to publicly execute a teenager bc of interschool pranks), what do you mean the conclusion to Draculara and Clawdeen's b plot was Clawdeen apologizing bc she was embarrassed abt her dating inexperience? Draculara did not respect her boundaries, did not listen to her and forced her into increasingly distressing situations bc she couldn't accept Clawdeen saying 'no' to her busybodying! She only ever apologized for forcing her to speed date, never mind how she continually embarrassed her, set her up on dates against her wishes and berated her for setting boundaries! I love Draculara to death (ha) but this is NOT a "forgivesies" moment! It boggles my mind that she was upset and confused when Clawdeen rightfully avoided her after telling her she didn't want to talk to her for a while when she continually crossed the line! She told her the problem multiple times but it just fell on covered ears, it genuinely upset me to watch.

Then there is Heath and Abby's whole c plot nonsense where he was embarrassed bc of a comment made by Manny when she saved him from being hurt by the Normie pumpkin prank. Him spending the rest of the movie messing everything up while trying to save her in return to prove his masculinity would have been fine, a good lesson even, if it didn't end with him saving her and receiving praise for 'being a man.' Don't piss me off. He should have ended his arc apologizing to her for how he acted bc of his ego and thanking her for what she had been doing for him! He should have learned that there was nothing to be embarrassed about, she's his friend ffs! Just because she is a girl doesn't mean it's shameful for her to assist him and it was disappointing that he didn't learn that! Hell, just swallowing his pride a bit to tell her thank you without fully internalizing what was wrong with him feeling the need to prove he was a man would have been better!

All of the plot points were being done satisfactorily until their conclusions. That's so disappointing man :/

Also, sidenote: the fact that the villains for this movie were blond haired, blue eyed white people and cops is not lost on me. Jason and Holt being both being hassled bc they are half of each side and pass enough to fit in temporarily until exposed is also not lost on me but if I get into breaking down the main plot I'll be here all week.

Thinking about the dance confrontation with Anteaterina. It reminded me once again how much I adore Ahiru and my confusion with that one trend of people giving Princess Tutu a sword or wishing she'd 'fought back more.' I don't see this anymore, thankfully, but I also don't see Tutu talked abt as often either, which is a bit of a shame.

Princess Tutu's weapons are her empathy and compassion. She dances with hurting people, listens to their woes and accepts their feelings even while they are twirling up tornadoes or tossing her about in their upset. I think many forget that she became Tutu in their first place due to those traits and wanting her to match the energy of people who are just aching and lashing out because of their overwhelming feelings (that are often being amplified by the shards) is a little disheartening.

They want to be heard, they want to be seen, they want SOMEONE to care, and Ahiru does. She becomes Tutu because she wants to banish the loneliest in Mytho's eyes when she sees him dancing at the lake alone, she collects his heart shards because she thinks it's sad to not have a heart at all, she dances with her antagonists because they are in pain and she wants to help! She talks to them, comforting them, telling them what they NEED to hear, giving them the chance to get their grievances off their chests instead of forcing them to give up their shards in combat because that's how she fights!

She's collecting a heart, guys, shouldn’t she use her own?

Woke up from a dream of a movie, but idk if it's a real movie or not? It was abt a boy who is prompted by a virus or virtual assistant or smth that looked a bit like Motherboard from Cyberchase to leave for proper safety instead of holing up in wait of a caretaker that won't come back. She's in a tv moniter too heavy for him to take so he says his goodbyes and does but runs into his adoptive dad, whose mind is slowly degenerating (older man btw), helping others to escape while looking for him bc he can't rmr where he hid the kid after leaving for something. He half recognizes him (I think he thought it was just a random child who looked like his kid) and on his way to sneaking him into a transfer vehicle place he recounts how he got the boy (some lady in jail gave birth and he took the kid to raise in her stead).

He talks abt missing his kid and is convinced any resemblance is his mind messing w him and the kid's got amnesia or smth so he keeps remembering things abt his caretaker but not the guy himself. Eventually they get to their destination and the kid isn't sure if this is the guy but has grown to love this new person who reminds him so much of his dad but the guy refuses to come with him. When they get inside, the place is run down and full of water, so spiders start crawling up their bodies and in the scramble to get them off they alert a woman who is also looking for her family. She is in a wheelchair and beraggled but helps sneak the kid into an open compartment hidden from the inside, also refusing to come. From there, the kid is supposed to head further in bc he can still be seen from outside, but he stays rooted there bc he doesn't want to leave them. The kid ends up watching the guy decide he's permanently tired, laying down of this random waterlogged bed and hallucinating hard. The woman catches a glimpse of the kid still there, and he shushes her, desperate to get one last look. The guy thinks he had imagined helping the boy entirely, so when the kid desperately tells him that he loves him after getting caught lingering, the guy just blinks at him before turning away.

I woke up afterwards.

This reminds me of a Pucca episode (and fancomic) but instead of blowing up, the guy she kissed, Tobe, was horrified (in the comic, he ends up in denial w a crush). I love whenever there's overlap like this in my brain
