HI SO THE UPDATE ON THE GLASSES THING!

basically! doctors did not know what was wrong with me and took trial and error to finally understand what was happening with my eyes for the past 2 years i spent so much money and i gen wish i get more kofi commissions or something because glasses are EXPENSIVE AAAND i got 2 pair,,,, one of them was extremely wrong prescription probably screw my eyes more than they already were,,, now im rocking new ones!! but still have fatigue problems so went back and they did MORE test and were like "oh ok so basically you cant focus and unfocus your eyes normally anymore and take a chunk of your eyes power to do it, so you been suffering from your eyes being tired all the time also dry eyes" and i swear i was gonna cry, which was more dollars down the drain,,, its ok tho !!! i got my new upgraded glasses and some drops and I been doing better! and that's! (kinda) the end of my suffering, also yeah thats the explanation on why you barely seen art from me the past few 2?? years?? i had a lot planned but I like forgot lol so will see. its not that i havent wanted to draw, i just been unable to do so lol.

Hopefully i should be able to draw more consistently now! i might like use the asks here for some warmups or smth because I still get people here asking me and like why not lmao.

ALSO ABOUT THE KOFI I DID START ONE!!! i feel awful doing this but it would be very good and would make me very happy if you support me by buying me kofi or a commission I have there!! YOU DONT HAVE TO! but it would be nice :))) thank you for listening!

I haven’t been drawing as of late,,, for lwa stuff I do have some stuff in my canvas but mostly wips, recently I realized my glasses have “expire “ I suppose you can call it, and need to get new ones but I don’t have the money for it currently so I been working and mostly keeping away from screens for a while sense my eyes have turn sensitive,,, very sorry if I don’t post much here I do post other fandoms art at my main art account!!! But haven’t in a while bc uknow, but thank u for checking in!! Sorry again for this! Hehe

As a girl with ADHD, Little Witch Academia continues to strike a chord with me with the portrayal of Akko.

Akko not only displays common traits that come with ADHD, she also has to deal with the problems often caused by these traits. She’s hyperactive, she says things before thinking, she struggles to be able to focus/she becomes too focused, she displays time and time again struggles to learn things the ��traditional way”. And as Episode 16 kinda shoved in our faces, she is impatient.

While “genki” characters aren’t that uncommon in anime, they are usually comical relief side characters or characters that can somehow lose their ADHD-related flaws when the situation needs it.

I feel LWA has had a more nuanced, more realistic depiction of this “genki” archetype than many other series. Like how they tackle the issue with learning difficulties and assuming everyone learns in the same way. I can imagine that many others with ADHD have been in a situation similar to Akko in episode 7, with Professor Finneran berating her for her lack of progress. But Akko’s struggle to learn isn’t entirely caused by herself. A big part of it is because of the teachers’ unwillingness to understand that Akko may need to be taught in different ways compared to other students. However, Professor Ursula acknowledges this and stands up for Akko (sadly, not everyone with learning difficulties had a “Professor Ursula” to stand up for them in real life).

Something that makes me sad is when people call Akko “insufferable” or something similar. I feel like these people fail to understand Akko’s problems. While, no, she should not get away with hurtful things she does to others, I think it might be easy to forget something: Akko is not an adult.

Akko is still just starting to realize her shortcomings and how to deal with them. She doesn’t fully understand herself yet, and why she struggles with certain things. She may not always realize that her behavoiur can hurt others around her.

This also means that her problems will not just stop, just because she realized how to deal with it. As an example, she will not now suddenly stop becoming impatient after episode 16. She will most likely be able to tell herself to calm down more often now, but not every time.

Character development doesn’t mean a characters flaws disappear entirely, and especially not for a character with ADHD traits.
