I just wanted to reach out and say hello! I know I’ve been missing in action for a while but just taking some time to reflect. I don’t know if I could’ve made it through 2020 without such awesome clients like all of you, so I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for that to start this new year 2021. Happy New Year to all! . . After Christmas, things slow down for me. I like to take advantage of that and chill with my family and try to unplug from social media as much as possible. It gives me time to breath and regroup for the New Year. . . I will be continuing my hiatus until early February, working on personal projects to expand my mind in other ways, to hopefully build more tools for myself and my family's future. I love making jewelry and will be back making beautiful pieces soon. . . As far as the pieces shown here, these were the last made in 2020. First is a rosecut diamond ring in all recycled 14K made as a Christmas gift for my wife, Caroline. Made from scratch and with so much love. Caroline has always told me she loves delicate rings that you can't feel when you wear them so this fits that box for sure. . . The next photos are rings I made for my Mom, Linda and my two daughters, Tiana and Kira. The basic concept of these rings were that the three marks I made in the gold on top symbolizes the special relationship my daughters have with their grandmother. I know a lot of people are not as fortunate as they are, so I am very grateful for that. Been having fun lately exploring the art of lapidary and utilizing it in my design. So awesome to have an idea in my head and cut the stone the way I see it for that design in my head. . . Something about the energy of Black Onyx is amazing, believed to absorb negative energy. Known for the energy of strong support, stamina, and determination to help one’s persevere. . . Fitting for me to remind myself to keep moving forward and just do the best I can. It’s not always easy being alone as a maker. It's not often I get dressed up for one and two, that I get to take a family photo with my special ladies all at once. My beautiful girls, wife Caroline and daughters Tiana & Kira. It’s always so cool for me to make beautiful rings in the name of love and to do it for really cool people. First Max came to me to make his fiance's engagement ring and then Paige came back for the wedding band for Max ❤️ . . Max wanted a subtle wave designed into this 14K gold band along with the subtle hammer texture to symbolize the light reflecting from the ocean. This one was a really fun one to fabricate and explore the subtle nuances in the design. Maybe you can see some of them💫 One of them is how I made the tip of the gemstone barely touching the skin, so you can feel the good energy. . . I could totally see making something like this with a big beautiful diamond one day. This would totally make for an affordable, alternative wedding or engagement ring. Meaningful story......... . . A few weeks ago you may have remembered I made rings for my brother and his wife's wedding so we were up in Santa Barbara for the wedding. Every time we visit Santa Barbara we always go to my brother's favorite local hang out, Harry's Plaza Café. Open since 1968, known in the local community for heavy pours, down home cooking, good vibes and eclectic vintage décor. An all-around classic place you have to check out if you have not been. My brother's picture is even on the wall. . . Of course in going there all these years my brother became very good friends with the bartender, Mike so naturally he needed to be the bartender at my brother's wedding. Mike and I got to talking at the wedding and he mentioned his 10 year wedding anniversary was coming up and wanted to make he and his wife something special for their anniversary so here we are. An Australian Opal in 14K yellow gold ring for her and a 14K gold band for himself. . . I love these kind of special stories and reasons to make beautiful and meaningful jewelry.
