It’s not worth it. Oh, it’s not worth it to explain the applause ringing in his ears during the silence, the creeping feeling of desperate isolation that follows him, the encroaching knowledge that what was begun in him can never be undone, the lingering thoughts of what he might do, wants to do, has to do to make this all stop. It’s not worth it, because if he looks Satoru in the eyes, he’ll start to cry and never stop. He’ll cry into his best friend’s shoulder and he’ll hate himself because they’re sitting under the very streetlight he once daydreamed about kissing Satoru under, and that’s just all kinds of wrong.

After the events of the Hidden Inventory arc, Suguru has more important things to worry about than how he's yearning for his best friend. The yearning sneaks in anyway. It's not enough, even when expressed.
