You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.

Here’s my advice to everyone who thinks that the election will be so fraudulent that it won’t matter, who thinks 45 will not cede power, etc, etc:

Vote so that the history books know it was fraudulent. -

Vote so the contemporary world knows it’s fraudulent. -

Vote so that he is actually committing the crime, and not just attempting it but winding up not needing to. -

Vote not because you like Joe Biden (ew), but because the establishment as it stands will take low votes against 45 as approval. Vote to communicate the crime that is happening in the most severe degree. Vote so that if he pulls some bullshit, it has to be the most obviously illegal bullshit possible.

These are not just talking points. These are steps to make action against a fraudulent government, if it happens, easier. To make it possible. To make the public understand.

Our elections are under attack. If you’re like me, you’re looking for real ways to do something about it.

Here is an extremely important, actionable list of ways we can protect the integrity of our election:

⁠⁠Apply ASAP to vote by mail AND send it in anytime UNTIL OCTOBER 22nd. After that, DROP IT OFF YOURSELF at a secure drop off box! I personally will ONLY use the drop off box.

⁠⁠If you vote in person, bring your ID and your completed sample ballot to speed up the process

⁠⁠If you vote in person, request to vote with a ball point pen, ie, a #HandMarkedPaperBallot

⁠⁠If you must use a touchscreen, compare the human readable text on the paper printout (if any) to your completed sample ballot to ensure the machine didn’t drop or flip your votes as reflected in the text.

⁠⁠VOTE in down ballot races since state lawmakers will vote in 2021 on the new maps that will impact control of the US House of Representatives.

⁠⁠Confirm your voter registration several times between now and the election. Save a screenshot of the registration confirmation as proof.

⁠⁠If you have questions or encounter problems voting, contact the voters protection hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE. SAVE THIS NUMBER IN YOUR PHONES TODAY!

⁠⁠Report problems to poll workers, the local media, and social media. The author also encourages you to tag her ( @jennycohn1 ) on twitter. BTW, I highly encourage following her on Twitter to stay up to date on voting and elections protection!

⁠⁠Volunteer as a poll worker. WE NEED POLL WORKERS. Republicans would love to shut down polling stations due to lack of workers.

⁠⁠Demand transparency about unexpected election losses. Encourage candidates to fight for transparency and not roll over!

i dont know how to explain to people that because they didn’t vote for Democrats to control the Senate, Democrats dont control the Senate. And therefore they dont get to do the things the Senate does, like pass stimulus bills and remove postmasters general. And a lot of those people are saying “how dare Democrats try to compromise with Republicans instead of just forcing their agenda” and the answer is…you put the Republicans in charge. And then those people say, “well surely there has to be a way to stop the gutting of the USPS and the eviction of millions of people, why cant democrats just tell us what to do?” And the answer is, you needed to vote in 2016, the election we all said at the time was the most important election in history. And barring that, since it’s in the past and all, vote in 2020 and hope your vote counts now.

Okay Bernie stans.

I need you all to prepare yourselves to vote for Biden in November.  

I’m not happy about it either.  I wanted Elizabeth Warren to destroy Trump on the debate floor.  I wanted to watch her shatter the glass ceiling.  I wanted student loan forgiveness, Medicare for All, and refugee and immigrant protections.

But I’m not going to get that.  So I am going all in for Biden.

This can no longer be a matter of “well if I don’t get my way THEN I’M NOT VOTING”.  I’d hoped you all learned your lessons four years ago, but from what I’ve seen on social media, that’s not been the case.  Biden is not ideal but he is better than the alternative.  He is a Democrat who will continue Obama’s legacy.  And you have a shot in hell of getting progressive movements like Medicare for All under a blue majority Congress; we do not have that under Trump.  

Biden is more willing to listen to the progressive factions of the Democrat party than Trump is.  We will get shit done under him.    

We cannot survive a second term of Trump.  I need you all to hold your noses, put on your big girl pants, and deal with it.  Prepare to vote for Biden.
