With a heavy heart I’d like to inform everyone of Seattle’s indefinite hiatus.
When I started this group, I had every intention of being the admin I personally wanted to see in the community. I think I started off on a good foot. Fortunately and just as unfortunately, I got a new full time job which is actually in my career. Therefore, I’m extremely busy as it’s a new importance to me. I took a week to see how I’d adjust and it’s looking like I won’t have much time to roleplay, let alone be on the internet much at all. I guess life is kind of weird like that.
As unexpected and disheartening it may be, I think it’s fair of me to put my life first. Even with a coadmin or extra help, I’m unable to proceed how I’d like to with the group. I say indefinite hiatus because there is a chance time will free up and I’ll come back with a revamp but I have to be honest that it’s unlikely. Though, the main will stay standing just in case.
I apologize to everyone who found this to be a good place to put their characters and are now not sure where to turn. Obviously, this came as a shock to me as I’m sure it’ll come to a lot of you. I won’t be turning over the group to anyone considering I created it and it wouldn’t feel right to me. I’d also like to ask people to avoid recreating the group but I know I can’t exactly do anything about it if someone does.
Thanks to everyone who made this group amazing and successful. I’m glad I got a chance to roleplay with you all while I could!

PLOT DROP—
Leave it to the rainy city of Seattle to shut down St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Due to heavy rainfall throughout the weekend, the annual bar crawl was unfortunately postponed. Back and better than ever, we’re expecting lighter rain this time around. With beers in both hands, you won’t be able to hold an umbrella. Most bars in all areas of the city will be hosting drink specials and tons of drinking games. Who cares if we’re late? We’ll be too drunk to care.
Please read below for out of character information…

This will be coming to a close on Friday!

chase cooper is a resident.
resident | downtown | police detective | thirty | male
trigger warnings (death)
past
Chase Alexander Cooper was born in San Diego, CA to Alexander and Sarah Cooper. His father is a police officer and his mother is a nurse. The young boy lived in a nice neighborhood and everything in his life was normal. He was involved with many sports but mostly football and basketball. To keep him out of trouble, he started playing in many sport leagues to keep himself busy and it didn’t bring his grades down. If asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, he responded as a NBA or NFL player since he was so good. When high school came around, he did go to a few parties but he didn’t use any drinks even though he did drink from time to time. Chase was able to keep his head straight until senior year. It was a big year since a lot of schools would be recruiting for sports. After many offers, Chase chose to attend UCLA on an athletic scholarship. Things changed when he heard that his older brother died overseas while protecting his country. When Chase heard the news, it was like a light switch went off in his head. He was so close to his older brother. That’s when he decided he was going into the Army to fight for his country instead of going to college. The day after his graduation, he was sent off the bootcamp and that’s when it all started for Chase.
After bootcamp, Chase came back to San Diego for a week, spending time with family and friends before he was being shipped off. No one knew that some of the actions Chase did that week would change his life forever. Chase spent a total of six years in the Army (Age 18-24) and he was so happy to go back to San Diego. When he went home to his family, he saw his parents with a small baby. Chase was confused at first then that’s when his parents told him that he had a kid. The week before he left for overseas, he forgot that he hooked up with his ex girlfriend in high school and she became pregnant after he left. Chase also found out that the mother of the child didn’t make it due to problems with the birth. That’s when Chase found out he had to be a single father.
Chase decided to start fresh and move out of San Diego. He and his son, Cameron, moved to Seattle, WA. His ex girlfriend’s parents also moved to Seattle to help take care of Cameron with Chase. As soon as they were settled, Chase joined the police academy. He couldn’t have done that if it wasn’t for the help he received. After he graduated from the academy, he went straight to work as a police officer. Even though his dreams was to be an athlete, he realized that he could use his military skills to help people.
present
After years of hard work, Chase was finally adjusting. The former police officer was now promoted to detective to the Intelligence Unit. Of course he liked being on patrol, he was thrilled to be an detective because of the hours, he was able to home with his son more who was currently in elementary school. Chase still receives help from his parents and his ex girlfriend’s parents so he could still live a normal life and hang out with friends.
personality
Chase used to be this chill, laid back kind of guy growing up but that changed when his brother died. Since his brother’s death, he’s more alert. It can be hard for Chase to open up, it just depends on the person. Chase can be hot-headed, even over the little things. Since he’s seen action, he’s really around with his surroundings. He’s a good guy and most if not all the time, he puts others before himself.

indigo niamh addams is a resident.
resident | northside | professor of spirituality and sexuality at washington university | thirty | female
trigger warnings (alcoholism, drug use, death, car accident)
past
Born in the late 80’s, Indigo is the daughter of the late Cedar Addams and Clover Addams, a couple that had met at a Woodstock festival in 1985, when her father was only 18 years old, and her mother 16. Instantly the couple had fallen in love during the rise of the War on Drugs, and found common interest of their use of marijuana. Cedar had come from a family of wealth from the city, while Clover had traveled in hippie vans and lived a nomadic lifestyle most of her life. A year later, Cedar had escaped his life in the city and joined Clover; the two were married months later and a year after that, gave birth to their first child, Indigo. In order to provide for their growing family (Indigo’s little brother Ziggy joining them only five years later), the couple began to cultivate their own hemp farm, eventually using it as a business tool to keep their bills paid when they decided to settle in a home in Mount Royal.
Growing up, Indigo would consider her childhood rather enjoyable. She grew to learn that the bloodshot eyes and genuine laughter of her parents were to be expected and not feared; and at the young age of twelve she began to smoke marijuana with the assistance of her parents. She attended music festivals and Woodstock with her parents, constantly being surrounded by good music and even better energy. By the age of thirteen, she could out-roll those more experienced than herself simply by watching them, getting used to the motions and beginning to make herself quite useful for her parents business. Despite the presence of drugs in her home, Indigo was very much in good hands with her parents and had one of the most loving childhoods a child could ask for. Once her little brother was born, Cedar and Clover bought a summer home in Washington, where the family would travel every summer in order to create memories that would last forever.
As the young girl matured, Indigo seemed to become rather popular among all genders at school. This wasn’t exactly an issue - her parents had always taught her that it wasn’t what was between a person’s legs, but rather between their ears and underneath their rib cage. Following this mentality, Indigo found herself romantically involved at the ripe young age of fourteen, and eventually losing her virginity to a girl at the age of fifteen. She’d maintained relationships throughout her life if she so desired, but Indigo much preferred to keep things casual between her partners. During her second year of University (she had been granted admission into Columbia, majoring in Psychology with a minor in History), Indigo had developed an emotional, as well as physical, connection with her Political Science professor; a man that ‘just seemed to have his life together.’ It took Indigo months to pursue him, and even longer for him to respond to her advances due to his devotion to his wife and family. Eventually, Indigo had cracked him - the two continued a romantic as well as sexual relationship up until the last few months of her sophomore year, when he abruptly ended the relationship and transferred schools. Indigo never heard from him again. She was devastated. Two months following her and Liam’s breakup, Indigo’s parents were hit at an intersection by a teenage boy who had run a red light because he was looking at his cell phone. At the age of twenty, Indigo and her brother had become orphans. The boy behind the wheel was sixteen, and was given a two year sentence in a juvenile detention center, then transported to a prison for a nine year sentence for vehicular homicide, with a required six months of parole.
Indigo didn’t know what to do. Her entire world came crashing down around her, all that was left was Ziggy; who was only fifteen at the time. Quickly and in a blur, Indigo fell into alcohols trap. She’d dropped out of Columbia soon after receiving the news, moving back home to be with Ziggy - legally she wasn’t allowed to leave him now that her parents were gone. Soon, it wasn’t a normal day unless Ziggy came home from school and found his older sister blacked out in the kitchen or bathroom, or in his parents old bed. He’d spend hours cleaning vomit rather than doing homework. The amount of alcohol bottles that stacked up in the garbage or around the house was enough to warrant Indigo’s rehabilitation when CPS showed up two months later to check on how she was doing raising her little brother. Ziggy fell into the foster care system, and Indigo was sent away to a facility. Or rather, four or five. Nothing could keep her sober as the ghosts of her parents constantly haunted her - she just wanted to get away. Once he was old enough to drive, Ziggy frequently visited Indigo while she was in care. During this time Indigo also learned that she was unable to have children; she had polycystic ovary syndrome.
present
Eventually, by the age of twenty-two, Indigo slowly but surely began to sober up. She returned to school, remaining sober for a year and half before she had spiraled out of control yet again, her relapse including her getting behind the wheel and crashing, landing herself in the hospital in critical condition. Remaining in rehab for the remainder of her college years, Indigo completed online courses for her degree and again left rehab to join society; returning to Columbia for one last year to complete her masters before taking up a position spirituality and sexuality professor at Washington University. There, she met her best friend and current love of her life, Aspen Whitlock (soon to be Addams).
Indigo and Aspen had met by chance when Aspen had been a TA at the same school, and had been instructed to drop off a textbook in Indigo’s classroom. From there; their story wrote itself. They had agreed on something purely physical at first, but that agreement had burned into something much stronger that neither woman could explain, until those three little words fell from Indigo’s lips (and Aspen’s a few days later). Their relationship was taboo, as Aspen was a student at the time. That didn’t stop the pair from moving in together, settling in Indigo’s family’s old summer home in Washington, along with (now) their golden retriever puppy, Pinnacle. Two years into their relationship, Indigo proposed to Aspen, and was heartbroken when the blonde rejected her; though the couple remained together.
After her Visa had expired, Indigo and Aspen had spent a few months in Indigo’s original hometown, Mont Royal, in Canada as she awaited the renewal of her Visa. Upon getting it, the couple moved back to the states, and Indigo once again took up her position at Washington University, continuing her and Aspen’s life as if nothing had changed. She plans very soon to propose to her beautiful girlfriend.
personality
Indigo’s most prominent trait is her compassion for others; nothing matters more to her than the comfort of those around her and their well being, and this goes especially for Aspen. Many people who meet Indigo would tell others that their first impression of her was ‘flirt.’ She’s incredibly confident in herself and her looks, so she knows people find her attractive and she uses it to her advantage. (This is also a trait used by her girlfriend, Aspen.) All in all, she’s a very enjoyable person to be around, especially once one gets to know her and be on her good side. For those who aren’t, Indigo is a fierce friend and lover, and will do anything for those she loves. She is not above getting revenge on people, and she’s got an incredibly wicked tongue when it comes to verbal arguments.

why are disney stars discouraged?
Personal preference, lack of resources, underage actors and actresses - there’s a lot of reasons. It really depends on the faceclaim, though.

kaleb steven ulrich is a resident.
resident | northside | software programmer and developer | twenty-eight | male
trigger warnings (death, blood, violence, drugs)
past
Growing up wasn’t easy for the Ulrich brothers. They didn’t have much of a father figure to look up to and their mother wasn’t really there to help them. Sure she catered for them when they were born up until they were five and six but that was it. Their mother was selfish and didn’t even act like a parent half of the time. Kaleb and his brother Owen were there for each other though. They got up, made sure to go to school, did their homework, eat and would start the day all over again. Whenever their friends would ask to come over or them hang out, they declined only because they had to be with each other at all times. They wouldn’t leave one behind and that loyalty stuck with them. Even when their mother was soon absorbed in the drug world. She would cling onto the men that gave her the supplies she wanted.
She would pay with sex and affection rather cash and in return the men were soon around Kaleb and Owen. This caused them to grow tougher skin. The men that she would see would be around their slumped New York apartment and soon take advantage. Hitting them, fighting with them if they stepped in the line of sight. Whenever Owen was in a fight with the men, Kaleb would step up and fight back for him and vice versa. The bruises and marks were hard to cover up and the lies told in school continued on. Soon enough they were starting to believe their own lies. At least for Kaleb. He didn’t want to lie, but he rather not give anyone the pity of his low life. To him, lying seemed to be the only good thing about all of this. It was the fake reality that made the harsh world seem bearable to him.
This went on for years and into their high school lives. Owen and Kaleb kept up with their act and just watched out for themselves. They tried their best to stay away from party scenes, at least Kaleb didn’t try it. Owen seemed to dive right into it. To Owen it was his escape from how shitty their lives were. It soon worried Kaleb that Owen would go out and party, only to come back and run into their mother’s man at that point. Soon having to fight him off due to his drunk brother. It was hard to see this and Kaleb would yell and try and knock sense into Owen but he never seemed to get it. He never seemed to care that Kaleb was just protecting him.
Owen’s a year and half older than Kaleb and when he graduated high school, he wanted to leave. He could’ve if he wanted to. But he didn’t want to leave Kaleb behind. So in the middle of the night Owen proposed they run away. That this was their chance. Kaleb was almost eighteen and soon enough they could be themselves without this tragic childhood holding them back. So they quietly packed up their belongings, got all the money they had and were running out the door. However as they nearing the stairs they heard yelling, fighting, and what sounded like a gun shot.
The two shared a glance only to be startled by a screech. Mid way through the stairs, Kaleb looked beyond that to see blood pooling on the floor and their mother’s body lifeless. Seconds later the man stepped into sight and saw the boys, firing off but missing them. Kaleb and Owen soon rushed up the stairs and exit the window to the fire escape. The man was hot on their trail but they soon escaped. Jumping and running off with all the adrenaline in them. When they were getting chased, they didn’t even realize that Owen got shot in the shoulder until they had a stopping point.
Kaleb quickly patched his brother up and were on their way out of New York. Catching a train and making their way across states til they were in South Carolina. At least they were free from the man and they weren’t looking back to New York. In South Carolina, Kaleb finished his high school degree and got himself into college, working some smaller jobs here and there along with his brother and fulfilling a computer programming and engineering degree. All they had was each other and the new friends that they made.
During college, Kaleb had finally gotten recognized. He didn’t date in high school and he wasn’t that appealing. Kaleb was a complete nerd that no one paid attention to, but in college people took notice of him. They found him funny and his funny personality shined through. He went to some clubs and bars and was having a good time. College was his playing field and in that playing field came a big obstacle of finding his sexuality. He had been with a few guys here and there, and most of the time it was just hook ups since all men wanted was sex. But Kaleb didn’t complain either. He enjoyed the affection and was happy to have people to connect with.
He was ready to make South Carolina his home with his brother, and they would be happy in life. However that wasn’t the case. One afternoon after Kaleb came back from classes he noticed his brother’s stuff gone and a small letter. Saying that he needed to move on. It crushed Kaleb seeing that his brother moved on without him and he had a hunch that he moved because of the girl that Owen was with.
present
Kaleb finished college and got his degree, only to move to another state. Soon traveling West and finding a job in Denver. He stayed there for a few years. Working at a company that did pay well, but they weren’t affectionate or the ‘family wonder’ brand that they said they were. The job stressed Kaleb out and yet the only good thing he had were the people there. He made friends, hell even had a relationship. That was the only good thing going for him but then his girlfriend cheated him. Telling him the excuse that it’s not you, it’s me. Kaleb believed it though and he didn’t know what else to do. His job sucked, he had no relationship and was soon going mad.
The people he thought were friends soon didn’t care for him, so he started looking into other jobs. Some place else that would actually value his qualities and luckily enough he found one in Seattle. He traveled up for the interviews. Spent some time over looking the place and it felt good. Kaleb got the feeling that this place would be good for him and once the job he wanted accepted him, Kaleb packed up and made way to Northside, Seattle where he would just make his life there and have a fresh start again.
personality
Kaleb is a lovable guy, he cares deeply and that care tends to backfire on him. He cares for others more than himself and with that, comes naivety. People can easily walk over him like his ex girlfriend did by cheating on him. He holds all of his problems inside and doesn’t want to talk about it because he feels it’s a burden for others. He doesn’t want feel how others feel for him. He doesn’t like pity and more so he doesn’t want to be viewed as someone who’s broken. Kaleb shows the world this funny, lovable dork who can talk about Star Wars and puns all the time and yet no one knows how he really feels deep down because of that selfless act he puts up.
