Logan: Anyway, I don't deserve whatever it is you're going on about, and I am very busy. I have to catch a flight soon in order to attend a business meeting.

Seb: Am I not allowed to be sentimental?

Seb: Have a safe flight.

Lach: I never take things seriously. Isn't that general knowledge, mate?

Seb: Maybe you should, before someone gets bloody hurt.

Magnus: oh come on, it's not that bad, i'll be fine

Magnus: christmas is soon anyway, i'll have a break

Seb: I know you'll be fine, but you're not a machine.

Seb: Nothing justifies working yourself into the ground.

Ezra: You're supposed to know everything, Seb. You're supposed to be better than google.

Ezra: I can't be left to ask Siri.

Seb: I am better than google.

Seb: Google doesn't know shit about Egyptology.

Seb: Siri is wiser than you give her credit for.

Seb’s lip quirked into a smile, “Of course.” When he spoke, his voice was gentle. Seb had always held a special place for Magnus along his heartstrings; he could feel them strumming now. With Magnus occupied, Seb retrieved a journal from his bookbag and resumed a letter he would send to his mother, but paused in the middle of an abjad phrase when Magnus spoke. It startled him. As articulate as Magnus could be, he never struck Seb as very talkative. Seb shut his journal and smoothed the cover with his hand. “Essays and tests, nothing too extraordinary, though Father did purchase a new dog last week. Another Pharoah’s Hound named Anput. She pisses Anubis off, but Mother’s fond of her, so. And you, Magnus? Not too busy I hope?” 

“Have you, now?” Magnus said; he didn’t go as far as smiling but there was a hint of amusement in his voice. He finished writing another sentenced and paused, then decided to put the pen away and take a break– he hasn’t in quite a while, he might just as well do it now and have a chat. “So, what have you been up to lately?” He asked as he took of his glasses and set them aside.

Ezra: Seb, I'm fine. It is exam season which means I am holed up somewhere trying to figure out magnetism.

Seb: Ezraaaa

Seb: I hate to see you so tired.

Seb: Is there anything I can do?

Magnus: i'm not.

Magnus: this amount of work is normal for me, you know that.

Seb: Then you're constantly overworked, my friend. You needn't strive for such great heights.

Seb: I wouldn't want you to fall.

Lach: Well, then... case closed. Thank you everybody for coming.

Seb: Will you ever take me seriously?

Logan: I've got a business to run. I'm constantly working.

Seb: But you don't have to let it consume you. You deserve better.

Seb: There’s a thin line between pushing oneself and overworking. I fear you’re verging on the latter.

On all accounts, Seb really didn’t need the time to study. His classes were challenging, but his notes were extensive, and there was seldom a time that he wasn’t thinking about the course material. This was his life, after all. He maneuvered the dining hall, in all its’ crowded glory, until he found a familiar face. He reciprocated his friend’s sentiment with a warm smile and slotted himself beside him. “It’s good to see you too, Magnus. I’ve missed you.”

          “You can sit here, I’m not going to bite your head off.” Magnus muttered, averting his eyes from the books in front of him, his writing coming to a stop for a second, too as he looked at the other guy standing across from the table. The dining hall looked rather full and the seat in front of him was probably one of the last ones. “I’m studying but I don’t mind company.”
