Fascinating to see that Biden going public with the Israeli deal and bringing world leaders together to urge the end of the war has really broken the brains of people who've been pretending to be anti-war for 8 months.

So, if you actually want the war to end, why do this? Why get angry that the U.S. president is urging the end of the war, with the help of the G7, Qatar, and Egypt? Why lie and pretend this isn’t an Israeli deal? Why lie and act like Hamas hasn't rejected multiple ceasefire offers?

Because people care about discourse more than human lives. They don’t want Israel to offer a concrete plan to end the war because they’d rather have their internet discourse fueled by the destruction of Gaza, and they want to continue to call for the destruction of Israel, which they feel more people will find justified as long as the war continues. They also don’t want to hold Hamas responsible for continuing this war, because they've posted nothing but terrorist apologia for months.

They don’t want Biden to call for the end of the war, despite what they said during their months of “ceasefire now!” protests, and they don’t want him to take the lead in urging the world to put pressure on Hamas to agree to the deal, because then their “gEnOciDE JoE” rants and anti-voting excuses fall flat.

They’re angry that an end to violence would mean the end of an era in their internet life, where they finally feel important and have the wind beneath their radikewl, ratfucking wings. In summary:

I am not at all being sarcastic or funny when I say the “ceasefire now!” crowd should take to the streets and demand that Hamas accepts the deal; they could still reject it because they’re insane terrorists, of course, but I’m pointing out Hamas’ responsibility in ending this war and that anyone who is seriously anti-war should be in favor of placing all possible pressure on them to accept the deal. The people of Gaza aren’t free to protest Hamas, but the people abroad who’ve been shouting for a ceasefire for 8 months are

Remember when Hasan Piker had a literal Houthi on his show to discuss how "based" the Houthis are(you know, the group who killed and drove out every single Jew from Yemen, has child slaves and child soldiers, literally started the slave trade back up in Yemen and has done immense harm to other groups as well) and literally nobody on the left even cared? The left generally is totally fine with genocide, slavery, child soldiers and war as long as it's a group they like carrying it out. The only people I saw criticize him were people who already hated him for other very valid reasons(his past transphobia being one).

So what sense does it make to vote “uncommitted” in the DNC when Biden has not only said the magic word ("ceasefire") for a while now, but just outlined a specific ceasefire and armistice plan, urged people to take to the streets to pressure their leaders to support it, and urged Israel and Hamas to accept it? What could voting uncommitted actually make Biden do in reality, make him yell “ceasefire” louder? Assassinate Netanyahu?

But no, it’s not about that. It’s just about ratfucking Democrats. That’s why reality hasn’t penetrated their narrative. The ratfuckers are opportunists who see this war as their chance to fuck over the Democratic Party, a way to relive their glory days of 2016 when they helped condemn the country to far-right fascism the first time around, and no amount of reality will stand in their way now
