The cousins knew each other only by name. We think we have said that Théodule was the favorite of Aunt Gillenormand, who preferred him because she did not see him.

Hey, you mentioned that you like 19th century poetry. Is "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe among your favourites, by chance?

I love The Raven! I had a huge Poe Phase in high school, and memorized a bunch of his poems. I used to know The Raven by heart, but now I've only got a couple verses remaining in my brain. I've really wanted to adapt Annabel Lee in particular though. I even drew some concept art for an Annabel Lee comic like three years ago:

Re: previous anon, I agree that acting is a job and not a life commitment. What IS a life commitment is speaking out for democracy and for a more just future... and if you're not a spineless coward, that life commitment should probably take priority.

(the brasilian les mis anon) I dont speak portuguese, but I do know spanish, and the gist of the lyrics grantaire sung (that I remember) were 'and i know, that i dont believe in nothing, but with you ???? i would be capable (of believing)' he's singing about enjolras btw I don't think I mentioned that lol. This production of les mis had e/r be canon, and one of the other videos was them kissing at the barricades as they died. Thank you again.

Hi Mellow! I have kind of a weird request(?) Some years ago someone (idk who) posted some videos of a small LesMis production they were in, in Brasil. they were tagged with #lesmiserablesbelem and while there were a few videos, the main one im looking for is a vid of grantaire singing a verse of On My Own they made up for him (all in portuguese) i thought i had reblogged it, but i cant find it anywhere on my blog and the ogs seem to have been deleted (but reblogs should still exist). Do you or anyone happen to remember these/ have reblogged these before? Thank you so much.

One night, he was alone in his little chamber near the roof. His candle was burning; he was reading, with his elbows resting on his table close to the open window. All sorts of reveries reached him from space, and mingled with his thoughts.

Marius in this chapter is just incredible. If I know how to use a meme template, I'd be using that galaxy brain one about now

Step 1: Finally knowing that he was genuinely and deeply loved by his estranged father (so cute <3)

Step 2: Learning all he can about his father and a bit about general French history and politics in the process (love this for him! bit intense perhaps, but who amongst us hasn't gained a sudden interest and immediately read everything in sight?)

Step 3: Feeling connected to his father's identity, starts to challenge his own political thinking and beliefs, moving away from his grandfather's extreme royalist views and starting to understand the views of the revolution and the empire that followed (go Marius! This is a really positive reaction to having your views challenged!)

Step 4: Space and the stars and Jupiter and the infinite all leading to...Napoleon, the once and future emperor! (maybe time for you to get some sleep, yeah? how much coffee did you drink today?)

Step 5: Napoleon is Jesus but for France! (oh. oh no.)

Meanwhile his grandfather is like "ah, clearly he's obsessed with a girl, no need to ask any questions".

I love how it's somehow heart-wrenching, very funny and incredibly teenage! I was just thinking something reminded me of young Werther and then Hugo mentions him, so that's clearly deliberate.

My fancomic adaptation of Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus: page 1 and 2! (stay tuned for more, and follow my Sly Cooper blog @designraccoon!)

As fellow nostalgic Playstation kids know, Sly Cooper is the story of a master raccoon thief on a journey to save the world and avenge his family's murder--- aided by his "found family" Bentley the Turtle and Murray the Hippo, but thwarted(?) by the dogged Inspector Carmelita Fox.

One of my favorite things about the original games is how Sly has a very unhammy, "normal" voice performance. Rather than being a stereotypical Goofy PlayStation Mascot with A Huge Personality, he's a suave little guy who takes his wacky crime world very seriously. I love it. Anyway, I spent a lot of time fiddling with the facial expressions trying to capture that energy.
