Seer can't knit. That’s a lie but not really. She also has too much yarn. Not as many as some, sure, but too much for one person and for the amount of projects they're actually working on. She has had much success with crochet, but not with knitting. Also she is on ravelry as GdiSeer if interested.

Some knitting patterns are like pastry recipes* and some are more like soup recipes**.
Normally, I knit soup, but I’m knitting pastry at the moment and it is a different experience.
*follow these instructions exactly
**here is one way to make soup, but you can always just use this as a jumping off point and add whatever’s in your fridge and you will still get soup

On the left we have yak and on the right baby alpaca and together they become the softest most annoying thing I've ever spun

Can someone please explain to me WHY no one can accept that I knit for pleasure?? Every time someone compliments me on my knitting they ask me if I've thought about selling it. NO GOD DAMMIIT NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE A SIDE HUSTLE
It would take all the pleasure out of it.
Bring back people doing things for fun. Jesus.
#what 95% of people have told me after finding out i can dye my own yarn#no thanks. i'd rather have fun making personal/custom colorways for me and my friends#it saves me from impulse buying more yarn when i can make most of what i want myself#and i'm not even losing money just because i have to buy bare yarn (it's usually cheaper)

the good thing about black yarn is that it hides your mistakes. the bad thing about black yarn is that it makes you make mistakes.

With every stitch, crochet weaves a tapestry of creativity and patience, turning yarn into a canvas for imagination.
#i need to make more little things#all my projects are too big and then i bounce between wips for months and months#you might call it an ambitious flaw

Oh, I just realized I may have forgotten to show you a new craft project (or more like part of a larger one) of mine!
Crocheted wisterias!

This is very much still a work in progress. I plan on crocheting bunch of purple and pink (and maybe white and light blue?) flowers before making a green garland/vine thing and adding them to it and then hanging the whole thing above my bed.
As usual, I don't really have a pattern I could share 😅 I studied how others have made similar things, did some testing on what works for me, and basically created "a pattern" myself...
#ohhh that would be so cool if you're able op#my mom loves wisterias and i'd love to make some for her for decoration

I realized that some of recovering from depression is changing your perspective on things. So I made my very first two-sided embroidery!

I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"
Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.
The number of WIPs I have is infinite.

It’s always “stop starting new hobbies, don’t keep buying more supplies, weren’t you working on a project already don’t start a new one” and never “nice enrichment I love your enrichment”

#it's comforting - but prob specifically because it's satisfying#like there's a good chance if i make the “right” choices that i will end up with#something that looks cool and i'm prob proud of#and while this year seems to be the year of not finishing any of my wips#it's still satisfying thinking about finishing a project
