I try to live and let live when it comes to differing opinions on my fandoms, and I think there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving villains, but I'm constantly upset by how popular my f/o's abuser is in the fandom. I'm tired of people claiming to like my f/o and care about them while also seeing the man whose cruelty ruined their life as a blorbo. And I worry if I explained that the abuse he put my f/o through feels real to me because my f/o feels real to me, I'll just sound out of touch with reality and get made fun of. I have this character's tag muted but it's hard to avoid seeing him at all and I'm frustrated by how angry it makes me, I wish I could just ignore it.

Hi! Could I get some positivity and comfort? An ex-mutual lied, saying they’re no longer interested in the self-ship community here and then unfollowed me. I didn’t think much of it until I checked my F/O tag, only to find one of their drawings of them and my F/O together. That really stung. They’re also using their full name as their username, which is a constant reminder, so I ended up blocking all their blogs. It really hurt, not to mention the time I posted my own art, and they responded soon after with, ‘I saw something I wish I hadn’t seen.’ I don’t want to stop loving my F/O just because of them—I don’t want to stop shipping with him. Every time I try, I can’t; he just wouldn’t let me go

I'm usually extremely sharing with all of my f/o's for one reason or another, but I think I might've found the single one so far that I don't share, so much so that even canon/canon ships with this character that aren't with the guy who's also my systems current host (fictive) get under my skin.

It's a bizzare feeling, being generally polyamorous and generally viewing other shippers as having "another universe's" version of my f/o, but that completely fails here for me for whatever reason. Despite my ship with him being polyamorous with a canon character and alternate universe versions of characters being canon to the source. I don't know why it gets to me but all my other ships I get excited to see others shipping with them.

Anyway, I love you old man mcgucket forever and ever I am rotating him in my mind like a rotisserie chicken.
