I dunno man. I found out today that a subway sandwich is $14 now. A shitty subway footlong sandwich that isn't actually 12 inches long and is occasionally made with expired ingredients and was never a great option to start with. I ate those in high school because I was broke and at the mall a lot.

There are poke bowls in my city from a local place for $16. Super fresh fish and veg, warm rice, more than I can eat in one sitting, for the price of a sandwich and a drink at america's most mid-tier sandwich shop.

Someone in another post said (paraphrased) you used to be able to get something mediocre for cheap, but now the mediocre things cost as much as the nice things so why would you?

I see way too many posts about being really affectionate with your friends and if you aren't hugging and kissing your friends then you don't really have friends and you should be in love with your friends a little bit and it annoys me so here's a post that shouts out non-affectionate friends. shoutout to the people who don't like affection or hugging or being super gushy with each other but still love and appreciate their friends dearly. shoutout to the people who find it really hard to be emotionally vulnerable and sweet but are still always there for you in a crisis. shoutout to people who don't have to be hugging you constantly to prove that they care about you

Very frustrated, bc like. If I complain about the weather and then complain about climate change and how no one's doing anything, I'm met with "well actually this is the latest we've had a 90 day in a long time." And it's like. There's a reason they changed it to climate change instead of calling it global warming, bc that was misleading. The average temp, especially the sea, is rising, but that doesn't mean daily it's going to always feel hotter.

What it does mean is that we're going to have more severe weather patterns. Like the worsening hurricane seasons. Like how many bad tornadoes we've already had this summer. Or like how we had an usually cool spring and now we're in a fucking heat dome that is making the Midwest feel like Florida.

Things are changing. It's not normal. We used to often get frosts and even snows in November or sometimes even October. We're lucky if we see flurries by January. But when I bring that up it's "well I don't like the snow anyway." Like that is not the point. The climate is changing enough that we are noticing and there are already a lot of consequences to the ecosystems around us.

But yeah. Drill baby drill. Fuck you.
