Hi everyone! I just wanted to apologize for being so insanely absent. The whole house ended up getting covid and today’s the first day that everyone finally feels normal. I’ve still got a pretty nasty cough, but I’m functional and not contagious. I hope you’ve all been doing well though! I hope to be able to get to some replies here and there as I’m able to.

          "𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠." It isn’t said with any harshness. It retains some semblance of welcoming to one who’s found himself among those she deems comrade. Which serves its purpose in the light of the frontlines. When battle meets fingertips && causes them to curl. Knuckles presented no different than a wolf’s teeth. To fight && win, survive && prosper. && one should know that there comes no future without those around us that want the same. To push forward && see that grand tomorrow.            “You know how to use that thing?” These words come with a simple glance to the blade he’d since drawn from the scabbard at his hip. Faced with a slew of rogue ninja for whatever reason they fancied on this particular day. But before one might realize it, she’s all but launched the entirety of her stature forthwith. Rapidity garnering the sudden collision of bridged knuckles to unsuspecting nose of chosen target. The roar of her efforts accompanies the shrill shriek of her victim that is easily thrown through two teahouses from sheer force.

But even so, she finds herself poised in favor of a reckless adolescent. Running about in a frenzy to locate lost companion. On whose bloodline runs long && the tragedy within it ever deep. For she, too, has known loss. She, too, has come to know the displacement of dear friend to the shadows. && yet.. he was not lost. He simply went. Slithering into the darkness && residing there as if it were always his home. The thought alone leaves so sour a taste in her mouth.            “What look?” It’s almost said with a tinge of bite. As if Kakashi pries without adequate reason. Slender digits motion to cradle the warm cup so it might be drawn to her lips. Using it as no different than the skills at her disposal in the wake of battle. Akin mask, concealing the hard line her lips have pressed into before they find rim. A gingerly sip, a thoughtful hum, eyes that had closed---she simply takes a moment to gather the thoughts running rampant in her mind. Evident in the thrumming of ruby nails across handcrafted cup.                        “A woman can’t daydream now and then these days?” She’s worried.

The ticket within her grasp is not one taken so lightly; a special ticket for the upcoming festival. One that would see a dozen or more opportunities to take a chance; to win big.            “No one asked you to tag along, y’know.” As if she didn’t enjoy his company, snark && all. He’s most likely become her favorite. “Especially if all you’re gonna do the whole time is complain.”

All the while taken by amusement fueled by drink && manifesting as flush visage---but be weary; she’s not so far gone just yet. Just a tad bit bolder than she normally is, unfazed by the request. Even if it comes across so wildly ignorant && outright dumb.            “Alright, pal. I don’t like you. You gotta a dumb look on your face and a bad attitude.” && in one swig, sake is downed. The familiar warmth hits her square in her chest----&& it’s welcome as ever. The bridge of her nose curls incredulously as the saucer is dropped in wrist’s pivot to tabletop below.            “If y’ask me, you sound like you’re overdue for one hell of an attitude check.”

          𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐮, 𝐬𝐡𝐞; 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 at the behest of gratitude. Eyes alike the very earth all would one day be lain to rest within seemingly flit from head to toe of a man otherwise wrought of pride (some believe it arrogance, even). Scanning him && taking him in all at once---assessing even the most miniscule of demeanor discrepancies. But alas, he is as vigilant as ever. Steadfast in his ability to play the role of light && strength in any situation. Even if that situation would see him wound up in the web of his own undoing. Like lock && key, her patient was no different than he. Bright-eyed && hopeful, full of dreams as far as stars. It seemed to humble her at face value if aught at all. For this village served well its purpose of breeding dreamers. Dreamers that would go as far as they could go without care of obstacle or foe. One who dreams of being a shinobi, another who dreams of becoming the next hokage.. what other dreams lie at the backs of the eyes of this day’s youth? She wants to see it all blossom.            “Don’t worry about it. He’s a tough kid..” She does not necessarily dismiss his gratitude. It is acknowledged in a gingerly presented brush of knuckles to the other’s bicep; friendly at best. A light tap to attempt to ease the tension wracked. && as her steps carry her beyond him in this corridor. Wherefore memories take her back to the rooftop conversation with alluded youth. He dreams, he dreams---his dreams set a fire beneath her soles && willed the manifestation of the success in surgery therein. Fairy tales are so hard to believe these days until one is faced with a miracle. A 50/50 shot that everything could go wrong && yet it didn’t. A faint simper finds supple tiers && casts them curvature, though he may not see it with her back to him in light of stride.                                   “Huh.. I wonder who he gets that from.”
