It’s Time.

I think this has been a long time coming. a whole year coming. I won’t lie: since posting the last of the devil skates on thin ice in september 2018, I have been having this feeling of needing to let go, which was why I moved on from vankoya to create seokeros. it didn’t work out like it used to. I wasn’t overcome with a swell of inspiration; if anything, I was pulled deeper into that nasty, incessant lack of drive for dedicating time to this blog. to writing for this fandom. while I certainly haven’t grown out of writing as I have actually been writing almost every day for the past few months, I have found myself straying further and further from this fandom. I started experiencing less and less interaction on this blog, wattpad and ao3, so I went from checking these sites every few hours to every few weeks. I stopped reading bts-centred fics. I stopped writing them altogether.

I thought I could finish a ticket to the sun before I left. for those dedicated readers of the series, I really wanted to. but deep down, I knew that while the series holds such a special place in my heart, I had fallen out of love with it at the end of 2016. I was thinking that I couldn’t find the strength to write the ending because I was sad about letting it go or because I was being lazy, when the reality is that I simply don’t want to write it. I haven’t wanted to write this series for a long time, but I’ve been holding onto it and making promises out of guilt for not finishing it. I ranted about this on my twitter, but that’s the downside of posting online that I had not anticipated when I first started: once you post an unfinished story that gains a readership, you suddenly have an obligation to see it through to the end. of course, technically, that isn’t the complete truth, but you are bound to face some guilt over having to disappoint the people who have supported you and your work. alas, this is what it has come to, and I am so sorry that I couldn’t pull through on my promises in the end...but are any of us honestly surprised? [side-eyes an oath for sinners, sillage, the orange girl, etc. etc.]

of course, I am not going to leave anyone hanging on what was meant to happen at the end of a ticket to the sun. I have posted summaries of what was meant to occur in the final chapters, alongside bits of scenes that I had already written, on both ao3 and wattpad.

thank you for loving a ticket to the sun. I’m sorry I couldn’t give it the ending you guys deserved.

all of that aside, words will never be able to express how thankful I am for the past four years. saying goodbye is never easy, especially when it seems to be for good. I will genuinely treasure this period of my life and the people who made it so wonderful forever. thank you so much to my fellow writers for always inspiring me. thank you so much to my incredible readers for supporting me and following me through all my ups and downs during these four years. I would not be pursuing my lifelong dreams of being a writer if it weren't for fan fiction, for this fandom, for you giving me so much strength and encouragement. I am truly, truly grateful. I will see you all again someday, I just know it.

I'm sorry if you have already answered this in the past but why is a ticket to the sun named that?

a ticket to the sun started out as a oneshot of the same name that I wrote back on sugascript in late 2015, which was about the night before yoongi was to go and, well, die. the “ticket” was a reference to the green envelope that he received and the “sun” was somewhat of a reference to the afterlife, since they said to each other “I’ll see you on the other side of the sun”. a similar reference will be made in the final chapters of the series, too!!

aaaa “deleting my blog” probably wasn’t a good way of saying what I was trying to say. I won’t be touching vankoya or deerguk/ they will remain as they are, as will the stories posted on them. seokeros is just going to become a thank you letter and a navigation page to my wattpad/ao3 and other social media, is all.

How to Find Stolen Content.

since fic plagiarism has delightfully come on the rise once more, here is a tip for writers (and readers who are here to fight for the justice of fic writers yeehaw) to see if their story has been reposted on another site.

first: open google. in quotation marks (“ ”), enter a line from your story. try to make it a line that is at the beginning of the story and/or is one that isn’t too generic. for example, if a name is used in the line, that will definitely narrow the search down to something more specific.

second: hit enter, and it’s as easy as that! the search results should come up, which will likely include a link to your original post(s) of the story. if there is an option to repeat the search with the omitted results included, definitely click on that so the search repeats with the omitted results, which will provide you with all of the links that google could find relating to that one line.

third: check through the links that you don’t recognise, especially ones from platforms that you may not operate on, such as wattpad and ao3. here is how to report a copyright violation on wattpad, and here is how to report a copyright violation on ao3. more often than not, these sites only allow the original writer to file a copyright violation report—so if you are doing this for a fellow writer friend, please make sure you notify them of the plagiarism!

above all, do not abuse the reposter. not only is that stooping down to a heinous level, but one always catches more flies with honey than vinegar. if it is necessary to contact the reposter, a polite but firm message that specifies what content they have stolen and how that has completely disrespected the hard work of the original writer is enough. please do not use any blatant hate.

chimy-licious has, in fact, stolen almost every single story that has been posted on their account. and yet they are claiming to have written these stories as if they put in all of the hard work and hours to write them. I went through the most recent quarter of their “one shot smuts BTS” book and, upon doing a google search of the first few lines of each story, found the original writers of these stories on tumblr (who have been contacted). but after directly contacting chimy-licious myself, they have merely removed my lengthy comment to them about the stolen stories that they’re claiming to have written, and then blocked me. luckily, they deleted the stories that I commented on, saying they were stolen from (insert original writer), but the block means I can no longer contact/comment.

so please, if you have a moment, check out their wattpad profile and look through all of their books to see if there are any stories that you recognise. notify the original author, and then comment: “this story has been stolen from (insert original writer). please remove it and all of the stolen content that you have posted here.” unfortunately, only the original writer can make a copyright violation report, so please make sure to get in touch with the original writer about the stolen content and specify what story has been plagiarised.

user @ Chimy-licious on wattpad has stolen NINE ONE ONE from @yminie and is acting as if they wrote it themselves. is even going as far to talk about “when they’ll update next” they have so many fics on their page and no credit to anyone. Please check this person’s page and see if you recognize any fics.
