I love, love, love LOVE the "Duskwalker Brides" series by Opal Reyne. It's delicious, it's dark, it's smutty, it's romance off the charts, and it's MONSTERS! 😩

(if you haven't read it, go right now this very minute. Best. Series. Ever.)

So, naturally, being an artist, I had to draw each of the main monster men in a little cutesy chubby form 🤭❤️

Enjoy the finished products of Orpheus (book 1), Magnar (book 2), Faunus (book 3), and Merikh (book 4)!

The twins from books 5 + 6 are started, but are just a sketch for now 🤭❤️

And I've sent the author herself these, asking for permission to sell arts of them all - and she said yes!! 😍

Really need a new funny dark romance rec. I’m craving that same heathen-like high that Lights Out and the Souls Trilogy left in me. Need anything with the vibes of these:

Lights Out - Navessa Allen (I’ve read Caught Up and I liked it, but want to laugh a little more)

Souls Trilogy - Harley Laroux - (The demons in that series specifically Leon & Zane were so sassy and now the bar has been raised for male protagonist humor for me)

Ruinous Love Trilogy - Brynne Weaver (I don’t think yall understand. I’m counting down the DAYS till her next book release)

Fox Family Crime Sydnicate - Summer O’Toole (This isn’t even considered a dark romcom, but I thought they had some funny moments, especially the 1st and last books. Especially the 1st. Or maybe I just have a crush on Gregory Salinas narrated characters lol)

Bull Moon Rising - Ruby Dixon (this isn’t dark romance but I feel like dark romance girlies and monster smut girlies don’t sit at the same table they eat on the same side of the cafeteria if u get me)

Filthy Rich Vampire/Fae - Geneva Lee (this isn’t dark romance either nor is it a romcom but it had tiny moments of both. I’m just reaching atp)

Going through “Filthy Rich” withdrawals.

The Filthy Rich Vampires series by Geneva Lee was genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had in a book series and same with Filthy Rich Fae. Was FRV a literary masterpiece?? Absolutely not but it reads like a soap opera script in the sense that I’m just here for the gaps, fun characters, and crazy plot points. Filthy Rich Fae is a little less unhinged but more cohesive plot, but I might love the character cast as a whole even more. Miss Geneva puts smth in her books istg. Dk what it is. But it keeps me coming back.

As a germaphobe, my respect goes out to Josh Hammond from Lights Out. Cause while living my dark romance girlie era, I’ve learned more than anything, that these dark romance guys just love sticking weapons up their girlies’ hoohas AND THEY NEVER CLEAN THEM FIRST???? Like!!! You just used that gun to kill someone and u wanna shove it up there??? So thank you Josh (and Navessa) for getting out those disinfectant wipes😭

Someone pls pls give me more dark romance recs like Her Soul to Take. (Preferably with fantasy elements). I love dark romance in theory and I enjoy darker content, but I'm so so picky with my dark romance men. But Her Soul to Take was perfect and so was Leon and everything felt very consensual (when it gets a little dubious is when I start to lose interest)

My beige maybe orange tinted flag is that I love reading, knowledge, and learning new information, but I hate school, but I want everyone to think I'm a snobby academic slightly alt intellectual. Like I will go to a bougie cafe with an edgy black outfit with a thick book bag and stare longingly out the window and shift my gaze back to my laptop and notebook as if I'm pondering over an invigorating research paper with my chunky headphones probably listening to indie R&B. But in reality I'm just listening to a smutty audiobook and saving fanart to my Pinterest boards.
