Ruby Dixon is genuinely a fantastic author

I have read over 60 books by her, each one focusing on a completely new couple, and every character of hers still feels unique and distinct and whole

People think it’s so weird and impossible that a woman who writes erotica about aliens could possibly be actually good at writing because they’re boring and uncreative

And I’m not saying all weird sci-fi-fantasy erotica is good, admittedly I thought how much I enjoyed Ruby Dixon must mean I really like the genre, but most of it’s pretty mid

I’m not saying Ice Planet Barbarians is the greatest series ever written or anything, but I do wish more people would read it and really critically examine how they respond to it and how they think about it, actually ask why it strikes you as weird that the book could be good

So I started reading Ice Planet Barbarians on a whim and I think what makes them fun is that Ruby Dixon doesn’t take herself too seriously. She knows exactly what she’s writing, she knows the reader knows what she’s writing. There’s no pretense and it’s fun. There are definitely books in the genre that take themselves so seriously and are almost afraid to be fun.

Been collecting these since December for one big post. This collection consists of preorders and books from the Black Friday sale on Book Outlet. I’ve read about half of these and I’m waiting on the audiobooks for the other ones.  Does anyone else buy books they’ve already read? I need people to validate my need for book trophies lol
