hi, thank you for the mention!
hi! coming back to tumblr after many, many years. can you recommend some active michael content blogs, please?
hey, i'm glad you're back! honestly there's not a ton going on in terms of michael content - as far as pictures, gifsets, etc, i tend to tag dive through old inactive blogs for that 😭
BUT @michaelswaist is awesome AND does mj art. @gazeuponthewater is a recently returned mj blogger! @loveisadoughnut posts pretty regularly. @sequinedrhinestones makes gorgeous mj gifsets. @someone-put-your-hand-out is still active and so is @itsjustdesire :)
i wish there were more active and consistent blogs, and just MORE in general, but that's kinda the situation atm. sorry if i missed anyone !

Hello there! Nice to meet you! 👋 I'm a huge fan of your gifs! I love your Michael Jackson gifs, they keep reminding me of the fact that he is the one true King of Pop, and they help me remember my childhood of listening to "Bad" and "Billie Jean" and "Workin' Day and Night" on blast on my Walkman in the 90s! (I'm a very early 90s baby 😅)
I can't speak for all of those anons, but I personally discovered "The Knights of the Quest" purely by accident. On YouTube, around the 15th anniversary of Heath Ledger's passing in 2023 (RIP), I was searching for "A Knight's Tale", a movie that Heath did in 2001 (the same year when "The Knights of the Quest" was released, coincidentally enough), and somehow I ended up seeing "The Knights of the Quest" among the search results, specifically the video that was uploaded in 2018 by the user called TVMovies. I saw Edward Furlong and Marco Leonardi in the video's thumbnail, and it took me a few seconds to realize that that was John Connor from "Terminator 2" and the teenaged Salvatore from "Cinema Paradiso"!
I have noticed that, in a few of his interviews since that video was uploaded in 2018, Furlong has occasionally been asked, or spoken, about "The Knights of the Quest", like in the Michael Rosenbaum podcast and Knockin' Doorz Down podcast, and the movie was implicitly mentioned in the Filling Time with Andy Roy podcast, and F. Murray Abraham was name-dropped in the Michael Biehn podcast specifically as Furlong's co-star in the movie. I'm totally just guessing here, but maybe those anons, and anyone outside of YouTube and Tumblr, discovered the movie the same way I did and that's why people are curious about the movie, curious enough to ask Furlong questions about it! We should salute the user TVMovies for uploading the movie onto YouTube and showing us Furlong's last major production before, sadly, the "Terminator 3" stuff happened.
And true, he does look emaciated and gaunt in the movie, but considering he admitted (in the Michael Rosenbaum podcast) that he got introduced to heroin while filming the movie in Italy in 2000, that's, unfortunately, probably one of the reasons why he looked that way. Sigh. Screw drugs, man. (Then again, he was always naturally skinny in his youth, but I know that his substance abuse at that time didn't help)
Finally, I saw an anon ask you about making gifs for a bunch of movies (in early May? Around that time?), and I do hope that you will get around to making gifs for all of those movies! But, take your time as well! No need to rush! ☺️
hello, hello, hello! nice to meet you too! thank you for loving my michael jackson and [edward furlong] gifs! i just created one from behind the scenes of “the way you make me feel.” i apologize for the very late reply and i hope that the new michael gifset makes up for it!
michael jackson is the undisputed king of pop—the one and only. the irreplaceable. always imitated and never duplicated. like you, i’ve worn out my walkman, discman and ipod with his discography. yeah, feeling like a fossil now lol. even now; whenever i make michael gifs, his songs are the only ones that i listen to. i miss him so much and making gifsets of him tends to make my days better. the crazy thing about being a gifmaker is that sometimes, it feels stressful as hell but i find it surprisingly serene in a way? it’s weird i know, but it gives me some comfort for some reason. love michael, forever and ever sobssss. may he rest in peace.
as i was reading your message, my mind was going “is this about michael or edward?”. and it’s about both and i’m shocked!!! i didn’t do the math for this, but having fans for both michael and edward is very rare in my opinion! so, a big welcome to my blog! welcome! welcome!
woahhhhh, i didn’t realize that the influx of anonymous requests regarding the “knights of the quest” gifsets comes from edward’s podcast interviews! like, i wouldn’t have guessed it at all! i actually assume that they were european fans or something because that movie is distributed in italy. in my eyes, i don't see edward as a skinny person due to his round cheeks and chin. overall, he just looks so freaking adorable plus his many dimples ughhh even more freaking cute??? i mean; even in his younger days, you can see his cute belly protruding out lollll. but yeah; i would have predicted the same that his first drug use was during the set of that foreign film because boy looked absolutely like a living corpse, to be honest. devastatingly handsome, but lawdddddd where has all his meat gone to?
ahhh yes, it was “new anon” that requested for edward's gifsets in early may! technically, i just follow the new anon’s request by the sequencing, so the next edward gifset will be from “detroit rock city.” i haven’t made up my mind on what to gif yet because there are so much gold in that film; but hopefully, the gifs will be out in a few days.
if anyone noticed, i usually alternate my gifsets between michael jackson and edward furlong. i’m also an extremely slow gifmaker, as ummmm ... anyone can tell. there’s no bone in me that could even hurry but don’t worry, i’ll get to making all the gif requests eventually! thank you so much for your ask again, silalcarin. have a great weekend!

A brand new anon here! I couldn't help but look back at the 1999 Oscars, and holy crap, I can easily see how Edward Furlong 10,000% could've been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for American History X instead of someone else. Fair warning, this is gonna be a little long, but I promise I will get to my point.
IMHO, Shakespeare in Love is one of the worst movies ever and one of the worst Best Picture Oscar winners ever. It's partially because it's just tainted by the knowledge we have now, post-2017 and post-Me Too and post-Time's Up, of that sexual predator Harvey Weinstein's infamous aggressive smear campaigns against other movies VS. Shakespeare in Love (which he co-produced and won Best Picture for). And it's partially because Gwyneth Paltrow absolutely should not have even been nominated for anything for this movie — not only is she just a shitty actor and a shitty person (Goop and all the other pseudoscience need to just die out already), but we also know that Weinstein literally bought her that Oscar, just like how he bought all the other Oscar wins and nominations for this movie. That Best Actress Oscar should've gone to either Cate Blanchett or Fernanda Montenegro, not the shitty little Goopy.
Bringing it back, I brought up Shakespeare in Love because Geoffrey Rush was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for the movie. Again, IMHO, his acting in the movie was nothing special nor significant, and he himself has multiple sexual harassment allegations looming over him, and he hasn't owned up to any of them, so he's just been tainted for me as both an actor and a person post-2017. But acting-wise, he didn't stand out to me at all in the movie, and of course Weinstein bought him that nomination anyways, so his nomination just doesn't feel deserved at all.
Meanwhile, you could feel Furlong with all of Danny's varying emotions as he looks up to and reveres Derek, but expresses his confusion over his big brother's changed ways, and you sigh in relief when he chooses to really listen to Derek and follow him on a better path (until he, unfortunately, is killed and leaves Derek horrified and devastated). But, specifically because of how much of a follower Danny is, you want to hate him for initially choosing to be a skinhead and easily getting wrapped up in that crap and for choosing to be a little shit, but then you grow to feel for him when you learn more of the Vinyard's backstory and their father, and you grow to feel for him as he gradually goes through his changes.
Furlong's acting made me hate Danny at first, but then he made me care about Danny as he gets his character development, and then of course he made me cry for Danny at the end scene. Not to mention, based on what Furlong has said in interviews like the LA Times and The Guardian (see below), he was super uncomfortable playing Danny and thus chose to not hang out with a bunch of racist shit-bags like Edward Norton had done (method actors, I tell ya). Furlong went out of his comfort zone to play the character, but he still knew when and where to draw the line. And for Furlong, who's literally half-Mexican on his mom's side, to play such a character! The sheer irony!
https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-sep-13-ca-22149-story.html
https://www.theguardian.com/film/1999/oct/02/kissrock
All of that above combined, really makes me believe that Furlong should've been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for American History X in 1999, and he should've received that nomination instead of Geoffrey Rush's uninteresting role in the uninteresting Shakespeare in Love.
Hope you don't mind this super duper long AF ask! 😅 I know it took me a while to get to my point, but I hope you enjoyed my TED Talk! 🤪🙈
PS, I was wondering, do you think maybe you can add the "#edward furlong" tag to all your pertinent Asks about him? It'll help me find your other Asks more easily, and it'll help other Edward fans here on Tumblr to find them and maybe even share their thoughts about each Ask!
hello brand new anon! sorry for the late reply. i don’t mind long asks and yes, i really enjoyed your ted talk!
as for “shakespeare in love”, i have to admit that i haven’t watched that film. at first glance, the cast doesn't particularly interest me, which makes it an immediate hard pass. based on your comments about this movie, it sounds like a huge embarrassment for everyone involved. i don't think anyone looking back at the oscars will remember this win as a significant moment or deserving of any recognition to begin with.
oh wow, you hated danny at first because of edward furlong’s acting? this means that edward is doing something right! his performance is clearly triggering a reaction in you and i think that's wonderful! if you ever meet edward, make sure to tell him that! i also find it amazing that he’s half-mexican and chose not to associate with a bunch of racists just to “stay true” for a role. why isn’t anyone talking about this? there should be a main discussion on this, what the hell!!! he doesn’t need to be a method actor to excel and he was incredibly convincing as danny. in my opinion, danny is a very intelligent person who has lost his sense of self. where does he belong in his community? why is this happening to his family? why is he believing all these nonsenses that he knew was wrong from the start and still choosing this destructive path? on a light-hearted note, i thought edward was a teenager in the movie, but he was actually 21 at that time! what a total babe phewww!
i truly believe edward was perfectly casted in “american history x”. the fact that he wasn’t nominated for an oscar at all just underscores the points you and other anons have made time and time again. but if we think about it, the messages have always suggested that the public viewed this as edward’s last and best performance in a film. i absolutely do not believe in that at all—i have faith that edward will have a redemption arc. call it wishful thinking or whatever, but i genuinely believe he will eventually get the recognition he deserves. a brand new role, a recurring role – i will never know but let’s wait together, shall we?
truthfully, i do not and will not rely on tumblr’s tags as they have been wonky since errrmmm, forever. i don’t really get that many asks, so it’s easy to find them on my blog. even though i didn’t tag my asks with #edward furlong; it somehow still appears in the tag, which i assume this is how other edward fans found me. anyway; to make it easier for you, i tagged my tumblr asks with #sequinedreplies and you can also go to my blog’s archive and select “post type-ask”. i’m really organized as you can tell! i make it all really simple lol!

Different anon, but I'm wondering, would you like to see Edward Furlong be on Marc Maron's or Dax Shepherd's podcasts? Any other podcasts you'd like to see him join?
hello different anon! i apologize for the late reply.
i'm currently out of the loop regarding edward's podcast appearances. has he been on any new ones? is he planning to attend any soon? anonnie, do you recommend edward to appear on the marc maron and dax shepherd podcasts? you specifically mentioned them and i have to be honest—i’m quite clueless about podcast shows. i googled their names and i still have no idea who they are. are they great hosts? i noticed that they both have quite a stable viewership!
i usually search for edward’s edits on youtube and eventually, his podcast episodes show up in my recommendations. that’s how i discovered these podcasts. i’m open to watching or listening to any podcasts featuring edward; but please, for the love of god, do not repeat the same disaster as steve-o’s episode. i can't go through that torture again!

Same anon speaking! The Steve-O podcast was so fucking bad, holy crap. Every single commenter rightfully pointed out that Steve-O didn't even let Eddie talk until maybe over an hour into it. You can even see Eddie looking exasperated and 100% done AF at one point. At around 53-ish minutes or so, he looked damn near ready to leave.
As for the interviews, the ones I found are below, where Edward Furlong himself openly admits that he's a naturally shy dude:
https://www.theguardian.com/film/1999/oct/02/kissrock
https://movieweb.com/exclusive-edward-furlong-talks-about-the-visitation/
Also, maybe "nervous" wasn't the right word. But what I actually meant was, to me, it seemed like Eddie stammered/stuttered/fumbled his words a little bit more in Rosenbaum's podcast compared to Biehn's podcast. But, as you pointed out, Furlong has known Biehn a lot longer, so his comfort level with Biehn could've easily contributed to that as well.
How are "The Knights of the Quest" gifs going? I just discovered that movie on YouTube the other day, and I see someone (or a few people) have already asked you for gifs for that. I hope you're making progress on them! 🙏
hello same anonnie! i was watching “the knights of the quest” on youtube when your ask came in! the seeder did not even stop by once after the initial download and it’s already june, so i might as well just make the gifs with the incomplete torrent. and yes, the very first gifset of “the knights of the quest” is done! it features prince – i mean, knight edward with his horses and their journey together.
i spent the entire two days creating these gifs because the pixel aspect ratio had to be manually changed for every single frames and layers. it’s an extremely tedious procedure, but i’ll endure it for edward and his fans lollll. there will be more gifsets of this film to come, but it takes time as i’m extracting whatever stable residual bytes of edward in it. anyway, i hope you like this simon di clarendon gifset!
eeeeeeeeek, the steve-o podcast. i understand that steve was trying to share his sobriety experience with edward, but all i heard was steve’s perspective and nothing about edward. if i remember correctly, people have been commenting since the very first episode that they wanted edward to guest on his podcast and it took steve over 200 episodes to finally get edward on the show. what’s the conclusion? an absolute shit show. i hated everything about that podcast and i just felt so sorry for edward the entire time.
i read your links and edward being shy is ummm … so strange to me. with his looks, i think he could walk around and own the world if he wanted to. he could do no wrong with such a face, so why is he so bashful, ya know? but him being a shy bean is the cutest thing at the same time? eeeepppp, i gotta stop fangirling. this is so damn embarrassing.
ahhh, i understand what you mean about rosenbaum's podcast now. edward does fumble with his words a lot. he kept repeating, “you know, like, ya know, i mean, like, ummmm, like … yeah, yeahhhhhhh.” it sounds very californian of him actually! then, he’ll start rambling with his potty mouth and that’s when we know the momentum is on for the interviews!
by the way, this is for the many anonymous asks that requested for “the knights of the quest” gifs. just out of curiosity, may i know why this particular film? as usual, edward is beautiful as hell but he looks emaciated and gaunt in the movie. i wanted to feed him a burger from my screen. please feed my curiosity instead!

You know, I've seen Furlong's podcast interviews with both Michael Rosenbaum and Michael Biehn (both in 2024, albeit in April and July, respectively) on YouTube, and I have to say, Eddie improved a lot in-between the two interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe he was more nervous in Rosenbaum's podcast in April because that was his first lengthy solo filmed interview in so long (in his various 1990s interviews, he admitted that he's shy and awkward and an introvert), and so by the time he did Biehn's podcast in July (3 months later), he found his rhythm/stride again
Ack I apologize for such a random Ask, but I just thought of this when you previously mentioned Edward Furlong's podcast interviews with both Michael's
hi anonnie! nahhh, i love random asks. don’t apologize and don’t worry about it.
first things first, i didn’t know that edward admitted to all those personality traits. i’ve seen his eyes darting around during his younger days interviews. he somewhat felt like the kid who didn’t belong in hollywood. overall, he just seemed uncomfortable at times and wanna leave the scene as soon as possible. however, his smile and friendliness always make up for it. the sweetest bean.
regarding rosenbaum’s podcast, most of the questions asked are pretty repetitive, so it didn’t strike me that edward was nervous at all. he was professional and simply stated the same answers that he has been giving for years. the episode isn't boring, but i didn't learn anything new about edward.
as for biehn’s podcast, edward seemed more relaxed since he and biehn are friends. this episode is legendary to me because biehn dared to interrogate edward about his past relationship with his tutor. he didn’t sugarcoat anything and openly stated that the situation was wrong. i could see how petrified and sad edward became during that episode, but it answered all the million-dollar questions i wanted to know. at least i learned that edward wished he could turn back time and erase everything. with this, i have mad respect for michael biehn and i hope edward will guest on his podcast again.
since we’re on the topic of podcasts, did you watch the one with steve-o? i’ve seen comments criticizing steve for not allowing edward to talk and it’s so true. what a waste of time. i can only imagine how boring and stuffy edward must have felt in that rv. i just gritted my teeth throughout the whole podcast for edward lolllll the love i have for him.
another podcast i enjoyed was american glutton with ethan suplee. i found it adorable to learn that edward wanted to reward himself with thai food after a week of dieting and exercise. he’s so relatable ahhhhh the things that we do for health and beauty. it’s a shame that it’s just an audio podcast because what’s not to like watching edward talking about food and seeing his eyes light up?

I've seen quite a few YouTube comments state that Edward Furlong as a young adult looks a little bit like the late French actor Alain Delon in his prime. And honestly? In certain angles, I can see it. And now I can't un-see it 🙈
hello anon! apologies for the late reply. i’m still sorting my belongings at my new home. also, i just made a gifset of edward furlong from “before and after”. i hope you like it!
omg those comments are so true anonnie! i agree wholeheartedly! alain and edward have very similar facial features: particularly their deep-set eyes, mischievous smiles, and dimpled chins. if i were to pinpoint edward’s most apparent “alain delon era”, it would be the starting from his “american heart” days. there are promotional pictures of him in that film where i would accidentally mistake him for alain. maybe it’s his short hairstyle in that movie?
not only that, i’ve seen youtube thumbnails where i'll go, “awww edward—wait! it’s alain delon!”. after making so many honest mistakes, i finally realized that edward’s eyebrows are rounder and softer compared to alain’s. i’m sure there are more differences, but it’s still a fact that they do resemble each other a lot. handsome devils! love them both!
