Fic Summary:

Eager to begin their life together, Astarion and Imara embark on their journey to the Underdark with thousands of vampires under their care, but their exciting new adventure proves perilous when life below ground turns out to be much more difficult than they'd expected.

Yes, we talk about Astarion's sexual abuse because we finally found a character to whom we can relate to.

It's not some kind of 'sick fascination'. It's not romanisation of his abuse.

It's about survivors finding a mirror, finally finding a well written character who echoes their traumas, a character they can use in their imagination and fanfic and artworks to project their own traumas onto because what he says feels so real and true and relatable. And in the best cases, we can find our own way to heal through his story.

Judging people for doing so? for healing through a character? For talking about their SA through the SA of a fictional character? Really? Are we living in society in which we shouldn't talk about the storyline of SA survivor, lest it becomes "too much"?

WTF?

Let me express myself and my traumas through Astarion's SA, without you assuming that I'm 'fascinated" by it. It's not fascination. It's me trying to heal through a character who mirrors my torments.

Please, question your bias before judging people about the way they relate to a character.
