I have this scene in my head:

Astarion x Durge redemption arc: when Astarion kills Cazadick he keeps stabbing long after the bastard is dead. No one really knows what to do and just look at each other. Durge slowly walks up and kneels beside Astarion. They gently lay their hand over his on the hilt of the dagger.

“You can stop now. He’s dead. He’s not going to hurt you any more.”

Astarion raises the dagger one more time but drops it and collapses into Durge’s arms. They hold him as he cries whispering that he’s safe. When the tears slow they raise his face to theirs

“Let’s get out of here,” they say with a small smile.

They help him stand and tell him to lean on them for support. Turning they see the companions each with something to help him. A cloth to clean the blood away. A shirt to cover him.

Together, this found family leave the place that had been his prison for so long.

Anywho, this beautiful artwork reminded me of that scene. Credit to the artist and their incredible talent. The emotion conveyed in this is heartbreaking (but in a good way).

Not calling out anyone, simply showing my personal preference. The more dead he looks - the more he is *him* for me. His wrinkles are also hot. You can definitely tell I'm not a fan of all those "younger" mods at all. Little sketch with beloved after yet another depressive episode, he's my only therapy.
