This is based on the painting 'Chatterton' by Henry Wallis, exhibited in 1856.
The original subject, Thomas Chatterton, is actually a young tragic figure. The Tate Britain (where it is held) has the caption as:
In the 18th century, the impoverished young poet Thomas Chatterton was exposed as a fraud after he sold fake medieval poems. He struggled to earn a living writing tales and songs. Penniless, he took his own life by drinking arsenic at the age of 17. To many Victorian viewers, Chatterton represented the growing divide between the values of the individual artist and the materialism of wider Victorian society. When he first exhibited the painting, Henry Wallis accompanied it with a quotation from the poet Christopher Marlowe: âCut is the branch that might have grown straightâ.
I think that it is interesting how the new context of OFMD makes it a comedy piece.

Hi Tumblr
Just wanted to say that the president of Poland Andrzej Duda just signed smthg called âKarta Rodzinyâ, which basically states that the only true family and marriage is that of heterosexual people, further doubling down on refusing marriage equality and adoption. It will âsave children from alien and harmful LGBT ideologyâ by baning public institutions of mentioning the âLGBT ideologyâ.
The things happening over in america are horrendous, but also making way for changes for the better. Theyâre making the whole world have a discussion about racism still woven into our societies.
But please. Itâs pride month. My country, my people need this to be on the lips of the world.

Finding love as a transgender person
Marianne Oakes has shared an amazing collection of transgender love stories over at GenderGP.Â
Here are a few of them.Â
Marianne wrote:
The myth that trans people struggle to find love is damaging to our future generations, if trans youth or worse still, their parents believe this, then the impact can be loss of hope. My experience is pretty much like all the lovely comments here, letâs stop the myth, xx

These are the solutions we need to policing right now. Remember: the problem cannot be solved by technocratic solutions (i.e. body cams, further trainings, etc.) The problem is policing itself.
