I just took this photo. It’s a beautiful photo of cabin in the mountains. I appreciated the moment, the sunrise, the hike. Yet I’m going to use all the hashtags. I tell myself it’s so I can share this moment with others, share something pretty. Part of it is that, but a more honest part is that I want the justification of hearts and likes from people I don’t even know. Me living in the moment, being happy with the photo, that should be enough. It’s so easy to let insecurities take over that rational thinking. If the likes don’t come in is the photo bad? No. Who cares. I care. That’s what’s so silly. We all need to remember to self like and self love. Allowing hearts, likes, followers, RTs, shares, and comments define how we feel about ourselves in any way is ridiculous. Don’t validate it. Like yourself, love yourself. You rule. I rule.
