Just a little more resistance, he could be free from her grip. But, it seemed it had gotten harder than before. He could feel her hand was moving, trying to yank his hood. The mysterious man kept struggling and struggling, and even made it hard for Lang Su to reach his hood.

Finally! He could feel easy to move. But, just at the time he just felt relieved, the lady’s hand managed to reach his hood. Just a pinch, but could pull his hood, revealing his face.

Damn it!

Underneath the hood, there was a look of the man that Lang Su felt really familiar. The man looked the same as she remembered, except for his greyish pale skin and burnt wound around his left eye.

He was too slow. Lang Su managed to knock him down, made him hard to move. Fortunately, the accident didn’t manage to reveal his face, yet…

The mysterious man tried his best to release himself from her grib. But, it seemed that she could make a good use of her weight and the condition. He couldn’t even believe it himself. How could the lady manage to make him hard to move? Did he become weaker or she become more smarter and stronger?

No, it wasn’t the time to wonder about those. If he didn’t hurry, she could make him reveal his face. He struggled to release himself, amazingly with less noise than a normal person. Slowly he managed to make more room for him to move. Just a little more and he would be free from her.

Finally! A break! For once, she was thankful for her height–more body, more blocking and more leverage, it seemed. 

The stranger struggled underneath her, making his way out from her grip. But she wasn’t ready to let go, yet. She reached for his hood, trying to yank it off.

The good news had been that he hadn’t noticed her yet–or perhaps he did–and that was why he was running again. 

She groaned at the idea of having to chase him throughout town, but there wasn’t any choice if she wanted answers, were there? Lang Su ran after him, and perhaps once she got close enough, she’d knock him down. 

It was a lot of trouble for someone looking to find an old friend, but there had been worse situations.

It seemed he managed to lose her. After a short-time of running, the mysterious man finally slowed his pace and then stopped making another step, taking a short break before continuing his activity.

“Whew… That’s a close one…” he said while catching his breath for a moment. Surely it was rude for him to ignore her. But again, he didn’t have any choice. It was not like he don’t want to meet her. He just didn’t want her to see what he looked like. His skin was so pale, as pale as a dead body with many wounds that were unnatural for a living person. He was no longer a human, just a living corpse. Even so, imagining what she felt about him…

“Tch… What am I thinking? That’s for her own good.” he mumbled as he continued his activity again.

It seemed to have worked. She stopped, peering down at the figure before jumping down. It didn’t matter if she didn’t jump on him, all she had to be sure of was that she blocked him from leaving.

She felt chills down her spine. That man that brushed by her. She knew that man from somewhere. Why was his face covered so much? She turned heel after him.

He stood out from the rest because his cloak was so tattered. He didn’t seem to notice her as she bobbed in and out of the crowds trying to keep herself a good distance close to him.

But suddenly, he disappeared into an alleyway. “Hey!” She picked up her pace into a run, angling her body so she wouldn’t have to make a sharp turn. He was still in her view, but still running. Why didn’t this man want her to see him?

"I really want to play adventure in the forest~ But..." Xing suddenly felt gloomy. "Would papa be worried? Last time I did that, I've made papa really worried..."

Xing happily tugged Jack's clothes. "Big brother, it's sunny outside~ Let's play~" (servant-of-the-rose)

The mysterious man kept running away from Lang Su. He ran faster and took many turns in the narrow alleyway. He didn’t mind her calling his real name as well. All of those he did to lost her.

Deep in his heart however, he really wanted to see her and talk many things to her. He missed every moments they spent just to throw every boring things and fooling around. He loved to see her reacting to his foolishness, acting so awkward in front of him.

But, it was been really long since that time. She might already got her own happy life, a husband, and children. He too already got his. Well, not quite a happy life, though… It was all becuse of his strict and annoying lord gave him a lot of stressing things. Life was a cruel thing for him. However, as long she was happy, he was also happy. He was just a part of her past memories, nothing more than that.

It had been so long since the last time he saw a crowds of people. Indeed, after his dead, he always being with his lord in a quiet place. Everything did change a lot since that time.

It was in a middle of his free time. Not actually his free time though… His lord surely was a really strict one for never giving him a free time. But as always, he didn’t care about that and took his own free time anyways. With wearing his cloak that looked more like an old cloth for him, the mysterious man walked around the city.

But, it seemed his free time got interrupted at the time. He accidentally saw a really familiar lady. No, he indeed knew her. That lady was Lang Su, the lady that was quite close to him in his past. She didn’t know his dead yet. However, he didn’t want her to know or even get curious about it.

And the worse, she too accidentally saw him. He quickly turned his attention away from her, pretending that he didn’t know her at all while kept walking away from her like nothing important happens to him. But, it seemed he was too late. The lady called him.

Dammit!

He immediately ran in a crowds of people and into an alleyway, trying to lost her. He didn’t want her to see his appearance that looked more like a dead person. He could use his power to disappear from her sight in instant. But, he didn’t want to show it to any human if that wasn’t really necessary. After all, she would become more curious if he used his power in front of her eyes.

It couldn’t be more exciting for Xing than hearing a compliment from his mother. He ran back to his father who was in the same room as well. “Papa! Mama likes the clothes too!“ he said cheerfully.

Li gave his son a warm smile. He was happy to see his son happy as well. “Of course mama likes it, Xing. You look good in every clothes to us.” he patted his son’s head gently.

Xing noticed his mother's presence in his room and called her excitingly "Mama!" He ran towards her. "Mama, look! Papa gave this clothes to me! Am I look good in this clothes?" he asked with his face expressed his excitement and curiosity. The outfit he wore was almost similar to his father's, except the smaller size and the different accessories he wore. (servant-of-the-rose)

Guew turns around and giggled.

“How adorable! You look quite handsome like your father~”

Meanwhile, Li was waiting outside of the bathroom. But, he was still keeping his sense sharp, just to make sure the other man didn’t actually stealing a thing from the mansion or even hurt his master.

Li watched the masked man strangely. Why would someone came into his master's mansion in the middle of a night? With a really strange costume and came from the window as well. Come to think of it, the other man looked like a robber for him. "...Uh... My apologize... mister? But, may I ask what are you doing in my room?" ((damn... yang chai as deadpool is just the best~ XD btw, why do i consider him as the real deadpool?)) (servant-of-the-rose)

Whoops, looks like he’s been caught in the act. “Uh..hey..~ just looking for a bathroom.” so much for sneaking in a house.

“Yes, indeed... It is my master’s home after all...” he replied with his usual smile, could be the fake one or the real one.

“My master is really dear to me. That is why I cannot let anyone harm her or even steal a thing from this house...” Of course, he said that not without a reason. The other man looked really suspicious from the start...

After a short walk, they arrived at the bathroom. He opened the bathroom’s door for the man. “Here is the bathroom. You can go inside now. I will wait you at the outside if you need any help...”

“I wonder why you did not knock the front door. I would still open the door for you if you did so.” He then opened the door near him. “Come, I will show you the way. Just... please remember to not be noisy.” Even though he said so, but he actually still place a suspicion at the man.

Li gently opened the door once his master excused him and looked around her room. It was just her, and alone. No one was there but him and his master. That made him felt confused.

Strange, I thought I heard ‘his’ voice a couple seconds ago… Or… is it just my imagination…?

But, he quickly snapped out from his thought and gave her his smile, trying to not make her confused as well. “My apologize. I am just… trying to make sure that you are sleeping or not, milady.” he bowed.

Meanwhile, the mysterious man was standing at a big tree branch and watching them. “Whew… That’s really a close one…” he said.

However, Li’s instinct was better than the other man thought. He realized the other man’s presence and quickly turned his glare at the source. But again, the man was faster than he thought. There was no one he saw outside the window.

Why do I feel like someone is watching us? Or maybe… I am just too tired…?

(to Guew) His smile faded from his face, and turned into the previous expression. "Y'know it was a personal thing and you would still dare to ask." He sighed. "Ask again if you already know a little about me. Right now, you don't deserve it."

“…”

She looks down at her feet.

“I’m sorry…”

Li continued to play his flute. Slowly, his heartbeat became controllable and he started to enjoy playing it. Somehow, he felt peacefull every time he played his flute.

Li was playing a calming and beautiful music with his bamboo flute at the garden. Many little birds came near him and seemed enjoying his music. But without being realized by him, his master was watching as well. (servant-of-the-rose)

Guew giggles.

Li raised his head. His face seemed a little bit surprised and confused. But, he finally nodded and gave his master his usual smile.

“Yes, as you wish, milady.” he replied. Unfortunate for him, his heart started to beat faster. Seemed like he was nervous. Indeed, he never show his skill in front of anyone before. It was his first time.

He took a deep breath and trying calm himself before he started to play his flute again. A really calming melody came out from his flute, inviting some little animals to watch him.

Li stopped, after hearing the sudden voice. It was his master’s. All the birds flew away from him as he turned his glare at the source. Indeed, he was right. It was his master’s voice.

“M-Milady?!” he surprised and quickly bowed politely in front of his master. “I-I... My deeply apologize. I didn’t mean to be such lazy...”

Li was surprised realizing his master would kissed him back. A thick blushes appeared at his cheeks. He kissed her back, but more passionately than before.
