Accidentally posted to the wrong blog. Here’s progress pics of peppers scrape healing. Took about a week to look all better (still waiting on some scales to grow back) but here’s the first four days below.

She kept hovering by my phone as I scrolled next to the tank, so I obliged and took her picture. Bluecifer looking demure for once.

so sorry to hear, and devastated for your loss. loved butternut and pumpkin both, it’s such a shame. i know how horrible it feels when it goes down like that. too fast, not prepared enough, not paying enough attention, not smart enough. losing them before their time is just the worst, especially when you’re not sure where it all went wrong.
i won’t bother trying to tell you it’s not your fault; i know all too well the shame that accompanies a loss. but you know as well as i all the issues internal and otherwise that goldfish suffer from. temperature might have just exacerbated it. four years isn’t too bad, and i’m glad you and pumpkin got to experience each other.
we are doomed to lose them all, someday. im sure pumpkin taught you a lot and im so relieved skippy is still doing well.
wishing you the best.
I'm sorry guys, i failed. she's dead this morning. yesterday i had further insulated the tank so it reached 66 degrees and gave a double dose of melafix. i know it's my fault cuz it's my job to keep them healthy and i took too long to notice what was wrong. I'd just barely had her for 4 years.

A pair of Yellow Clown Gobies sharing a hide in a discarded aluminium can. Popular in aquariums for their bright colouration and entertaining personality, these small fish avoid predication with a bitter mucous coating.

dont think ive ever mentioned this but dear little ritalin has only one anal fin instead of the usual 2 that most fancy breeds are supposed to have. ive got no clue how common this "deformity" is. her caudals are properly split, all the way down.
