Mentoring with Set|Ready - Bring your knowledge, share your skills, and increase your abilities
We are ramping up our work behind the scenes to prepare for the release of Operation MIND (Mentor, Inform, Network, Deploy) in January 2020. This is exciting as it has been made possible through tireless support from friends, family, people drawn to the mission, and the Set|Ready team. For those who have donated - financial, services, support, mentorship, time, and guidance over the past two years: THANK YOU. We are humbled and honored to keep pushing forward to create a deep impact in the lives of Military, Veterans, and Military Spouses transitioning to the civilian workforce.
If you’re just now learning about Set|Ready, welcome! We are a group of professionals that work to refine holistic solutions to the real-world challenges faced in the Mil/Vet/MilSpouse community. The core team leading Set|Ready includes a Neuropsychotherapist, a Human Resources leader, a Researcher/Evaluator, and a Veteran/Psychotherapist. We utilize our collective knowledge to ensure the mission is accomplished through purposeful initiatives. Our core values are to remain mission-oriented and people-centered with a keen focus on the betterment of the community we serve.
All of our services are provided at no cost. Please check out the slides on this page for a brief overview of Set|Ready’s mission. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Comment, share, follow, like on the website and social media as you see fit. In today’s Internet, a major challenge is engagement. You sharing and commenting on posts increases the opportunity for others to be shown the information. These simple gestures help us grow organically!
Appreciatively,
Jeremy Fusco

Meet & Greet: Robert Veigel, Chief of Staff/Co-founder
Robert grew up in Arlington, Texas where he was an active member in scouting and punk rock garage bands. After earning the rank of Eagle Scout and graduating high school he attended California State University Long Beach where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in between eating at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and surfing.
He continued his postgraduate education and in 2009 he earned a Master’s in Social Work with distinguished honors. One of his jobs while completing his degree was as a school social worker; in this position, he began to evaluate the intervention methods used with his clients from at-risk and under-served populations. Eventually, Robert’s curiosity led to him moving his way up into leadership positions with the Fort Worth Independent School District as he continued to develop his skill sets in data management, program evaluation, program implementation, public speaking, and data manipulation techniques. Robert currently serves the city of Virginia Beach, Virginia as a research specialist for public schools where he conducts evaluations and research in the areas of education, social justice, public health, college and career readiness, program implementation, career, and technical education, and student/parent support services. Additionally, he coordinates external research activities and develops professional development regarding data usage, restorative justice, and positive behavior systems.
Robert is a co-founder of Set|Ready and serves as Chief of Staff with a mission and drive to serve military, veterans, and their spouses.
Through his life and professional experience he has learned that leveling the playing field by providing rational, logical, and fiscally responsible programs can lift up families and generations.
In his role as Chief of Staff he strives to provide equitable programming to our participants by working across all areas of Set|Ready with our amazingly talented staff to provide a coherent menu of services that reach the core needs of our participants.
When not serving the schools in Virginia Beach or Set|Ready you can generally find Robert in his kayak, hiking with his family, at the beach surfing, or out in his garage tinkering on a project he planned to finish long ago but still hasn’t gotten “just right.”

Meet & Greet: Jeremy Fusco, Chief Executive Officer/Co-founder
Jeremy Fusco, LCSW
As mystical as a campfire legend and as tenacious as a honey badger, Fusco is determined to advocate and support those in need, regardless of the challenges.
Fusco was born in Arlington, Texas where he spent most of his formative years as a devotee to punk rock, playing drums, movies, and camping.
Fusco found himself graduating high school, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout, and entering Basic Military Training for the U.S. Air Force within the same week. At almost 12 years in service, he was medically retired from the Air Force and found himself having to come to terms with loss of identity and changes to future plans. Determined to continue service to others, Fusco pursued Social Work through the University of Southern California where he obtained his Master’s in Social Work with Concentration in Mental Health and Military/Veterans Services.
His focus in Social Work is clinical services providing mental health counseling and innovative solutions. Currently, Fusco works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice where he provides individual, couples and group counseling. As a psychotherapist, he specializes in PTSD, Trauma, Depression, and Anxiety.
He has provided Crisis Response in downtown Dallas, Texas after the July 7, 2016 shootings as well as response to Hurricane Harvey victims in/around Crosby, Texas and Hurricane Michael in/around Panama City and Mexico Beach, Florida. Continuing his love to advocate, Fusco provides clinical services to Veterans who are involved in Veterans Treatment Courts programs as well as jailed. Fusco is an ally to the LGBT Community and has worked to establish awareness and services for LGBT Veterans.
Fusco serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Set|Ready with a dynamic group of leaders that join forces to deliver “the how-to from those who do.” Fusco is a proponent of perpetual learning and exploration across the lifespan. He brings a penchant for public speaking, a panache for networking, and razzmatazz in the ideas and vision department. He loves the outdoors, BBQ, history, building furniture, and turning wrenches on things.

Meet & Greet: Carly Lupo, Chief Behavioral Officer
Carly Lupo was born and raised in Oviedo, FL. She spent her diverse formative years split between skating with the boys, cheerleading, and playing lacrosse.
She is a lover of metal and reggae music, and enjoys destroying scrubs in video games – particularly Call of Duty, Overwatch, and Destiny (Do you even FPS?).
Carly has a BA in Psychology from Flagler College, but during the final semester of her senior year, contracted a deadly gastrointestinal parasite. Although she recovered, graduated and promptly began a Masters in Social Work just 3 weeks after graduation, she had no idea that her world was about to come to a halt. Symptoms of chronic illness began to arise, and Carly was diagnosed with a rare gastrovascular disorder that required a major surgery just one semester prior to MSW graduation. Carly ended up having to take a 2 year leave of absence from graduate school. This gap in education and quality of life created unique challenges upon graduation and entering the career of her dreams, and it would be an honor to help guide others through the extremely difficult time that she endured.
Carly is a classically trained social worker by trade, but has ventured into the field of Biofeedback. She currently practices at Adaptive Mind, her private practice in West Palm Beach, FL with a focus on working with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, ASD, Migraines, Trauma, Stroke, Chronic Pain, etc.
At Set|Ready, Carly hopes to accomplish a strengths-based motivational support for those transitioning in and out of the workforce, as she has had first-hand experience with the struggles of serious chronic illness, and the impact it had on not only her quality of life, but also self-esteem.
