Hello! I had a quick question about your chibi doll pattern (really looking forward to the expansion pack!) What colors would you recommend for skin tones? I'm looking at the Shannon pinky line and am having trouble color matching to what I want for my next doll through the screen.
Many people will agree that Shannon doesn't have great colors for skin tones, but if you imagine the skin as having brown and yellow undertones instead of pink it's not so bad.
From lightest to darkest, I personally use beige, sand, cappuccino, caramel, and brown.

I hope that helps!

Hello, I was wondering if you had a tutorial on how you make embroidery patterns for the machine?
Unfortunately I don't have a detailed tutorial on that yet, but I would first say to try out some free demos of embroidery software. I have a list of a few on my FAQ (the last question), like Embird, Stitch Era Universal, or Hatch by Wilcom. https://cholyknight.com/faq-fabric-suppliers-tools/

Hey! I have a question re: the elephant pattern you just dropped. Super cute btw! I noticed the back of the head pattern looked about the same shape as the one for the Kero and Suppi plush, and was wondering if the heads were close enough in size to be interchangeable? Because a little four-legged Kero or elephant fairy would be super cute. That was all, thanks for sharing your patterns!
The elephant head is about 30% larger than Kero's head 😊 So if you put them together as is they may look a little imbalanced, but you could also enlarge or shrink them so they match up closer.

The new neck dragon pattern is finally ready! I'm glad you guys are all so excited! 🐉 https://www.etsy.com/listing/931022090/neck-dragon-plush-sewing-pattern-pdf It was inspired by the Long Dragon I made last year :D It's a long, noodle-body dragon that has a natural curve, but with the help of some armature wire in the body, it can fit snugly on your neck! The new pattern is 30% off for the next week! Meanwhile the matching embroidery is 50% off 🐲 https://www.etsy.com/listing/944989849/dragon-eyes-11-machine-embroidery-file And to celebrate, all my other dragon patterns are 20% off, and everything else is 10% off. This design also works really well with other fanart dragon characters, so I've included a free pattern hack on my blog you can use to adjust the pattern into Toothless, Haku, Dratini, or Dragonair. https://cholyknight.com/2021/01/28/neck-dragon/ I hope you all enjoy making some little dragon buddies!

A new year means a new start for free patterns! The first up is a classic Australian animal that has been on my request list a little while now 🐨 A fluffy koala! http://cholyknight.com/2021/01/15/koala-plush/ This one features a simple body similar to the Memory Panda Bear from last year. It's a great way to use fluffy fabrics in either the main body or the extra fuzzy inner ears. I had that piece sewn in a curved seam, but you can also applique the inner ears if you feel more comfortable. The pattern comes with both applique templates for hand or machine sewing and embroidery files for embroidery machine owners. All the files fit 4" x 4" hoops, you'll just need to rotate your face fabric to make it fit :) Like all of my other free patterns, this one is available to everyone for all time! You're also welcome to sell items you've sewn with the pattern -- though a credit back to me is much appreciated 😊 I hope you all like it! 🌟 https://www.instagram.com/p/CKFU8AfJlZW/?igshid=1vzgz9n7sgu9n

#atla and #lok fans: I can't be the only one that saw the giant stuffed sky bison in book two of Legend of Korra and thought "MUST HAVE IT!" Clearly, something must be done about this 🤣 This Friday my new free pattern will take steps toward rectifying this enormous error ♥ 🦬 https://www.instagram.com/p/CIlk3tepyQq/?igshid=1hq5ix7qv001d

Hey hi! I absolutely love your patterns, and I kinda have a weird question if you don't mind. I was wondering what kind of program you use to make the plush patterns?
I want to start making pet hammocks based on popculture characters and want to share those with people, but I am wondering how to make good digital patterns that people can easily print
Hello! Thank you for the kind words about my work :) I use Adobe Illustrator to design my templates, and Adobe InDesign to lay out all the instructions and step-by-step photos.

So in true 2020 fashion there was a bit of chaos this morning as my newest pattern was accidentally released a week early due to a computer error It wasn't fully uploaded yet, but I thought I'd better roll with it instead, so surprise Pikachu everyone! https://cholyknight.com/2020/11/06/pikachu-plush/ Thank you to everyone that was patient with the fix, and for all my kind fans who responded with supportive words after the error This tiny chubby chu has stubby arms and legs that are sewn on by hand as well as the ears. It sits well on its own thanks to a flat bottom. And just like the hoodie hack I did in September, it comes with bonus templates for a female version of the tail (with a heart shape at the end) and a shocked face from the meme! The pattern comes with both applique templates for hand or machine sewing as well as embroidery files if you have an embroidery machine. Because of all the hand sewing, numerous small darts, and the tricky curved dart in the seat, I rated this one a 4/10 Like all of my other free patterns, this one is available to everyone for all time! You're also welcome to sell items you've sewn with the pattern -- though a credit back to me is much appreciated  I hope you all like it!
