since it’s the anniversary of The Burning Shores here’s a sappy rant adjacent post lmao

A year ago, when the burning shores came out, I was super excited!! It had been announced during the game awards and I immediately preordered it. When it came out I was ecstatic and it immediately kickstarted a lot of things I didn’t know I needed- here’s some below!

-it got me into fanfiction!! I had never wrote fanfiction before, only wrote my own personal characters, but this DLC inspired me!! I kept writing ever since and I still do today! The first fic I ever made was for Seyka and Aloy- I’ve improved since then and I’ve kept writing ever since!! I’m eternally grateful for this game kickstarting my passion for writing.

-Seeing Aloy crush on a girl on screen, not hidden or implied and even kissing her was so so cool. I see myself in aloy and knowing she’s just like me fr was amazing!! I joke, but knowing that this character that I identify with and love so dearly was so similar to me was very much a hit to the heart (in a good way!). I’ve loved Seyloy ever since then and honestly I haven’t been the same. They’ve lived rent free in my head for a year!!

-I saw a place I’ve been to and recognize in my favorite game!! flying around all the different landmarks I’ve been too and seeing how my game blended with it was so so cool. I saw videos talking about the different places going “I’ve been there!!” “I’ve seen that!!” I know LA is not by any means small, and it was eventually going to appear, but considering that year i Irished danced there and saw the city up close it was big to me :) [southern Californians when LA shows up (it’s a very famous place)]

-I finished the DLC’s main story veeeery quickly, and honestly that’s a big thing for me! I never finish games quickly, even if I like them- I finished this dlc main story in two days I swear!!

this got long and will not have any meaning to people but tldr I love this game and I love this DLC. The brain worms continue!
