Facilier blinked a couple of times at the woman sitting before him.  ❝   ____ No need t’a be shy , darlin’. ❞     Dark hands shuffled a deck of cards somewhere in the darkness. Although the man’s lips weren’t curled into a smile, one could hear it in his voice. ❝   Curiosity shouldn’t be discouraged in my HUMBLE opinion.” A card was flipped onto the table face down.  ❝   All that science ‘n’ knowledge wouldn’t exist if there were no curious folk around t’a find it …  ❞     A second card followed.  ❝    Like magic wouldn’t be real if people didn’t believe in it.  ❞     The third card was placed next to the others. Facilier’s finger tapped thoughtfully against his chin, lips puckered into a round shape while examining his work. The large white chalk drawings left upon the pavement outside his humble shop were quite visible and the HEADLESS black chicken left upon the center of it would get a few occasional glances from the select few who passed by it. But the voodoo bokor finally sighed, brows raising in innocent helplessness. ❝   Anyone who bothered t’a LOOK … ❞    The man’s lips curled while he glanced at the creature standing beside him, the back of his dark hand casually patting the other’s chest. ❝   You think any of ‘em mundys would call me out on tryin’ t’a pull up some BLACK MAGIC at their doorstep?? ❞   He chuckled. ❝  This folk ain’t bothered by no voodoo business no more. Evil’s part of t’a routine ‘round here.
