FFXIVMixedMay: Mount

One of Baatu's canonical mounts is his chocobo Dracul. Dracul was a castaway on the seas who was saved by Baatu one fishing day. Baatu raised the chick from then on. Perhaps Dracul lost a few brain cells from being out on sea, or maybe Baatu's daftness rubbed off on him. But the two are a perfectly stupid pair with little to no survival instincts, making it a miracle they're still traveling together.

(I could have shown off Moss again since that creature can become large enough to sit on, but I decided I haven't really shown off Dracul before. I love this idiot, he really is the stupidest Chocobo in game and in his canon. I didn't even realize Castaway Chocobo Chick was a thing in the game, but it ended up as perfect lore for him.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Minion

Moss has been following Baatu around ever since it found him camping in the woods. Moss isn't actually a korpokkur, it's a voidsent that took over the body of a korpokkur. No, Baatu does not and will not realize this. Moss follows Baatu around because his aether leak is delicious and why would it bother to work any harder to find food when this dumb idiot of a man feeds it and gives it scritches...

(Listen, I just love korpokkur so I gave my main one... kinda. Moss is a cute little guy (it/he). It just started following Baatu around, but now it would kill for Baatu bc it's grown so attached to him lol.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Job/Class

Zetoichi can be considered an Onmyoji: someone who manipulates energies and guides spirits. He travels all over the world to find and help spirits who need guidance or to deal with those that are malicious. He has attuned with two "corrupted" job stones housing the broken souls of two separate people. He is trained with the katana, resonating with his samurai stone. He knows very little about how to operate machinist equipment and often gets chastised by the soul that haunts that stone.

(His personal job will be Pictomancer since he is an extension of myself. Eventually in his story, his machinist stone will find peace and he will pick up the new Picto stone? Just FYI, Z was brought into FFXIV so I have done what I can to make his OG story fit within the boundaries of the lore lol)

Day #1 of FFXIV Mixed May Introduction

If you happen to meet Briar alone in the Black Shroud, this is likely what you shall see, a wary archer far from home and hearth, not unfriendly but cautious.

FFXIVMixedMay: City-State

Zetoichi travels near constantly to all reaches of the world, but he will always call Kugane his home. Everything good he can remember started in this city-state, so he has a fond connection to it. He does not own property, so he would often stay at the inn rooms of the city.

(These shots don’t display the city very well, but I think it’s fitting for him to be shown in an inn room. Also I’m surprised, I didn’t really edit these other than cropping and I think the lighting and colors turned out alright?)

(I have been finally going through Baatu and Aoki's lore to rewrite it on ToyHouse. I have been meaning to do this for a long time since I dramatically changed Baatu's since I first made him so long ago. Aoki's is just getting a touch up since I fleshed out some pieces of his background as I learned more about the game in general. I might also post them both here on tumblr since they're both REALLY long and reading them on ToyHouse might be too eye-straining. But I'm not done yet... There's so much.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Living Space

Baatu has a home with his husband and kids in Shirogane. They have made it from the ground up together- most literally. They constructed the house to their preferences (with the help of some friends and contractors). Baatu also has an apartment in The Goblet as he is often in Ul'dah doing Captain work. He often lets friends use it when he's not there though.
