Tagged in this cute picrew by the wonderful @sherlock-is-ace to make myself and my comfort character. This is scarily close to DC Emerson Kent from the amazing (and brutally cut short because ITV are twats) WHITECHAPEL He’s clearly just eliminated the nemesis of his beloved DI Joseph Chandler ( how the series was MEANT to end 👀 o.O) but he doesn’t care cos they’re all free - or Joe and his team are anyway. What one does for love, eh … 😭💔
Tagging @zwergenmaedchen @shesailsships @eurydike @annradcliffe @choochoo284 @matan4il and anyone else who wants to. As always, feel free to ignore x

When Mary Shelly wrote “I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other” god I really felt that

im so shy but is there any way you can say where to find the season 5 information youre talking about? I would love it for fanfic purposes! Thank you so much
Loving to hear you’re writing Whitechapel fanfic 🙌🏻 Absolutely would love to share with you. I saw this wonderful person’s equally wonderful post in the tag a while back and nearly keeled over from excitement, heartbreak, and a refuel of fury towards ITV. Bastards.
Here it is

Are you still there?
Have you seen that producer's reply about their plans for the fifth season?
Hello. I’m always here.
Yes, I did read that. The ending would have been painful as hell but would have made sense. What did you think about it?

The way to love someone is to lightly run your finger over that person’s soul until you find a crack, and then gently pour your love into that crack.

my favorite trope is when someone believes they’re hard to love and someone who loves them like it’s breathing.

“And you tried to change, didn’t you? Closed your mouth more. Tried to be softer, prettier, less volatile, less awake… You can’t make homes out of human beings. Someone should have already told you that. And if he wants to leave, then let him leave. You are terrifying, and strange, and beautiful. Something not everyone knows how to love.”

“This is my last love letter to you, though some would call it a confession. I suppose both are a sort of gentle violence, putting down in ink what scorches the air when spoken aloud.”

“I would have loved him in any era, in any dark age; I would take him into the twilight and unwind him, slide my fingers through his hair and pull him to his knees. As it is, this afternoon, late in the twentieth century, I sit on a chair in the kitchen with my keys in my lap, pressing the black button on the answering machine over and over, listening to his message, his voice strung along the wires outside my window where the birds balance themselves and stare off into the trees, thinking even in the farthest future, in the most distant universe, I would have recognized this voice, refracted, as it would be, like light from a small, uncharted star.”

“Tell me again how you long for something you can’t express… something to center you because you’ve lost your place between what was and what is. Tell me again and I will tell you how your presence thrills me… how knowing you fills me with both peace and fire… both friendship and desire.”
