Evaluation

When first starting my animation I found it difficult to grasp how to use the software thing like the Wacom pad were hard for me to use in the process therefore I decided to make the rest of it just using the mouse. Using animate in general was difficult for me as it was the first time using it for a projects, although I was inexperienced with the software I manage to get the hang of it quickly.

Creating the background for my animation was easily done however it was quite time consuming as it involved me use a lot of different shape and matching up the line to make it perfect. While creating the background I used the pathfinder tools a lot to cut out thing such as hole in the windows or walls. When I moved on to the animation I start of by following a basic walk cycle how by the time I’d done the walk cycle I realised that it was quite jerky, next time I make a walk cycle I will take in to count that more pictures are need to make the cycle look more fluid. While creating thing such as bird I realised that it isn’t necessary to make the bird perfect because at the speed the bird is moving the detail isn’t able to be captured in the clip however If I had coloured the bird in different colour to grey and black it would have been easier to create detail by using a range of each colours for each feather. The brick were one of the easiest thing to make which only took a few rectangles with an outline, to make the brick look as if they were falling I used rotation to make the brick fall look more realistic to where they would bounce of other brick or the floor to help the sequence flow better. To create other minor details I used the paint brush tool the make line or facial feature in the background of the scene, if I were to make another animation I would like to focus on the backgrounds more and have my characters interact with the background more as he only interacted with only piece of the scenery. Altogether there are many parts of my animation with need work most of my animation could have been improved If I managed my time better thing such as the background needed more detail which would allow more character interaction however my character was on the basic side too so making the character more detailed with accessory’s would help me have and larger scope of thing to animate. My animation didn’t turn out as I intended it  to there are many fault which I want to improve on next time the main issue was that I started animating to late which didn’t give me enough time to complete thing how I wanted them to look the walk cycle for me is a main fault however because I didn’t check if it was fluid in the beginning I wasn’t able to go back to it as my time was very limited also the interact throughout the animation was also limited by time therefore there was only minor interactions with the brick and phone. If I created another animation I’d like to create 3 backgrounds or a background which moves with the character which would give me the ability to make character go inside buildings or interact with other characters seen in the scenery. Overall I feel my animation was a success for my first time using the program and I feel I would be able to do greater things after using the program for a few months. After gaining extra skill and become more efficient with the Wacom pad I’d like to create a more in-depth animation to see how far my skills would improve.
