they really did cut every lgbtetc character except renloras and oberyn. and both were 'acceptable' like oberyn was pretty much a joke and renloras were tokens. joncon first and foremost of course, utterly egregious. cersei and taena is such an important scene for cersei's psyche. even little stuff like hother umber lysono maar sweets satin or the blackfish's ambiguity. its not only weirdly homophobic but also shows such a dearth and disdain for worldbuilding. gender and sexuality is so so important to asoiaf and even though GOT was known for its sexposition and sexually controversial content, it really only ever was sensational. nothing was ever said, and much of what they attempted to say about gender was deadened by the onscreen and offscreen treatment of women and their bodies.

love that arya serving as roose's cupbearer served to open her eyes to the way in which class and status literally erases the smallfolk from the perceived realities of their lords (a lesson further reinforced in her travels with sandor where simply wearing ratty clothes is enough for knights to just not notice the most recognizably marred face and most wanted man in all of westeros) and then in the show serving as tywin's cupbearer was just "we wish charles dance was our dad :( he would be so stern but also loving to us :(( we would impress him with our gumption i mean sorry arya would impr-"

Why is okay for Nymeria to come to Dorne, align with one side then conquer it, before establishing themselves as rulers of a united state?

But when House Targaryen did it, only on a vast scale (the continent was always at war: The Ironborn were gradually moving into the Stormlands from the Riverlands and looking to invade; the Dornish and the Marchers were in perpetual tit for tat fighting and so on)

They came into a war zone, declared themselves a new style of ruler and forced the formally disunited region into one which benefited people (more so in Dorne, but the point still stands)

Don’t stab one side just because they were brown.

nymeria and her people came as refugees during a time when dorne was already in conflict

she formed an alliance with mors martell and married him, joining his cause

she didn't burn thousands of people alive with 3 monstrous dragons

she encouraged intermarriage between her people and the andals and the first men instead of genocide and destruction of cultures. in fact that newly arrived rhoynar began to worship the same gods as the andals with only a small number keeping to their old religion

she didn't start new wars after and there wasn't constant insurrections against her

the orphans helped the deserts of dorne bloom until the dragons destroyed most of the farmlands.

house martell has ruled dorne for 1000 years

to recap, nymeria helped a king of dorne conquer his enermies. the targs in comparison:

started an invasion out of a belief that they are superior to other people

used weapons of mass destruction

refused alliances with the rulers like meria, preferring to violently subjugate people by threatening to destroy their homes

burnt down entire towns and people inside them

started a new era in westeros where there were continent wide wars. sorry but you're wrong about westeros having wars of that scale. it was usually small scale conflicts between petty kings. the last time there was something of that scale was during the andal invasion

forced people to accept targaryen exceptionalism which includes incest and practiced separation instead of integration

there were constant rebels in the aftermaths as many people didn't want the targaryens ruling over them

formed a highly unstable dynasty that caused the deaths of an untold number of people

basically brought very little change to westeros besides building king's landing in 300 years

it's pretty obvious why nymeria's situation and targaryen colonisation is different.
