And maybe this is doomposting. Maybe this is an incredibly negative way to think of the blessing of infinite access to infinite information. Maybe by the time this is a real and serious problem we'll have already figured out how to fix it, but like I dunno how anyone can picture themselves their parents' age and still fucking posting everything they do and using social media as their sole form of engagement with the news and their community and their family and the entire world like aren't you sick of it already??? How can anyone bear the thought of this going on forever

Does anyone else ever think about how social media is so ingrained in culture and socialization now that it will probably never go away and get kind of light headed imagining themself and everyone else posting the same shit in their 50s 60s 70s. Do you think about the scale of the hardware that will be needed to store billions upon billions of posts that say inane and useless shit not to mention the frankly horrifying amount of junk data online produced automatically by bots for advertising purposes. And advertising. How much of it is advertising. AI generated clickbait slop. Reproduction after reproduction of the same posts across numerous platforms. Reactions to reactions to reactions. And still you are going to wake up, watching the world drown in rising oceans and rising temperatures and hurricanes and total ecological collapse, and log onto whatever the new meta is and broadcast your first thought of the day to whoever is doing the same thing at that moment in the simplest terms possible because you haven't had your stimulants yet and then you will discard the idea and continue knee-jerk expressing everything so no cumulative ideas ever form all left to be consumed to a vortex of infinite data whose theoretical utility in archiving is utterly destroyed by the amount of meaningless nonsense you would have to sort through to find even one useful thing. It feels corny to say the internet is the library of babel but what else can you possible compare it to?

Was a couple days ago but my first rave legitimately has changed my life I do not think I have ever walked into an event and felt like there was nothing weird about me being there and like everyone was like me in some way. Like even in Outcast Weirdo groups I've always kind of felt like there was just something about me that just made me unrelatable to the point that my existence itself became an absurdity. And this wasn't a delusion born of insecurity even other "weird" people really have treated me that way pretty much my whole life. But there it was never a question. People saw me walk by the door to wait for entry and they cheered and welcomed me even though they had no idea who I was. And they were nice to me and didn't think I was weird or childish or cringe. And I had fun. And I can do it again...
