This has happened and I’m pissed.
The U.S. so badly did not want this; I’m positive it is, by far, the most unpopular thing a president has done in decades. That makes me angry.
The entire world is terrified. That makes me angry.
Our ruler did this because of white supremacy. The Middle East is continuously unstable because the U.S. is constantly stepping on its neck and it’s forced to thrash to survive. Our government has the power to create global stability and fully refuses to. That makes me angry.
The Iranian people are suddenly more unsafe because our dictator threw an unforgivably violent temper tantrum. That makes me angry.
He who doesn’t deserve to be named handled “this” in the least civil, least professional, least practical way possible. That makes me angry.
People have been horrifically murdered. That makes me angry.
We’re all being traumatized. That makes me angry.
I’m going to say, now is the time to voice our dissent 100 times louder. Scream it from the rooftops. Put your peace signs out everywhere. Talk to that MAGA person with regret about joining you in protest.
If you’re in a big city, please consider fleeing ASAP. If you have nowhere to go, reach out to a friend or mutual and beg for a couch. Brainstorm all your options. We don’t know what’s coming, and it’s important to walk on the safe side. I’m not saying something beyond horrible is going to happen soon, but it’s not out of the question.
Don’t give into fear. This is the scariest thing many of us have lived through. But voicing your dissent has the potential to slow and stop this nightmare, and shitting your pants does literally nothing and actually makes the situation worse for the people around you. Live in your rightful anger, not fear. The louder we are, the more we unite the world against our government and not our people.

The next time they tell you Americans are “happy” with their employer provided health insurance remember that that “happiness” is fueled by willful ignorance of what the alternatives are really like and fear of losing what little crappy health care they currently have.

“Screen addiction causes depression”
Nah. People living with depression are prone to screen addiction.
The internet provides constant dopamine hits, parasocial relationships, and escape to people that have lower levels of dopamine, struggle with relationships, and are often experiencing upsetting thoughts and stress.
A lot of times, the cure to screen addiction isn’t getting off the screen, it’s meeting needs irl. Ex: If someone is relying on the internet to coregulate through a parasocial relationship because they’re alone irl, having a supportive relationship irl will decrease how often they turn to the internet. Just putting the screen away will have them more depressed because they will be forced to face the fact that they are alone. It’s safer to have their social need met before letting go of the screen.

The crux of the anti trans movement is a war on bodily autonomy. They don't want you to have any agency over what you look like, how you dress, who you date, whether to have kids, etc.
They want total control over you. Not just trans people. Not just queer people. You. Everyone.
Trans people are just a scapegoat. They want total control over everyone's self expression. They want the right to mold you into their perfect little cog in their dehumanizing machine.
Happy Trans Day of Visibility. Our rights are your rights. Our destruction is your destruction.

Do you get it now? Without due process, everyone is at risk. How are you going to prove your citizenship otherwise?

Trump’s ICE has finally knowingly deported a U.S. citizen without due process.
The line has been crossed. If we don’t fight for justice for this citizen, all US citizens will be at risk of being disappeared.
The precedent they are trying to set with this case and the cases of all those men they illegally sent to the torture camp in El Salvador is that ICE can kidnap citizens, send them out of the country immediately, and when the justice system demands to return the citizens, the federal government will claim that the constitution no longer applies to those citizens because they are out of the country.

Massive Aotearoa W
Months after a viral haka was performed in New Zealand parliament, the controversial bill that sparked it has now been defeated. The Treaty Principles bill sought to redefine the which is New Zealand's founding document. The bill was brought by ACT Party leader David Seymour, who believed the current interpretation of the treaty gave more rights to Māori people than non-Māori New Zealanders. After two years of debate and nationwide protest, the bill was voted down by all but one party.

I’m confused as to why I’m not hearing about cis athletes standing up for trans athletes.
Why aren’t there entire teams of women refusing to go on in response to their associations banning trans women from sports? I understand harsh contracts, but if half of an association’s athletes strike for trans rights, they can’t risk terminating the contracts of half of their athletes.
And, obviously, banning trans women because they “aren’t women enough” to be in women’s sports is setting the precedent that they can ban certain cis women for “not being woman enough”. So not only would a protest help slow the decent into fascism, it is also directly in the interest of many cis athletes.
