back on this app after a whole year bc the trailer finally brought up hype for this season, I had no hope whatsover but it seems so cool?!

about portwell: I am not quite worried about them since I want to believe that the writers would not be so lazy to basically recycle the s1 rini plot.

in S2E10 Ej tells the boys that the reason why he doesn't wanna jump into something with gina is bc he's scared of living the nini situation all over again.

so of course watching that interaction between gina and ricky is gonna freak him out, resulting in him avoiding gina (making her freaking out as well) and creating a misunderstanding situation which will be resolved!

let's be honest, at the end of the day creating another triangle would just be so unfair to the characters;

gina does not deserve to be treated like a second choice (or third depending on what they are planning with lily) especially by someone who treated her the way ricky did. Ej does not deserve to lose yet another girl to the same guy after the great development he went through and ricky deserves to work on himself before jumping into another relationship this soon.

haven't posted anything in a while but a couple of weeks ago I was rewatching season 2 when I noticed this particular shot and asked myself, was it a foreshadowing? Gina is looking at Ricky who's so far away both physically and metaphorically. EJ is standing right beside her but he is out of focus, maybe symbolizing that everything we need is right under our nose even if we do not notice right away?

this!! after they spent the ENTIRE season 1 press tour tricking us about the whole team ej/team ricky situation I just started ignoring most of the things they say in interviews lmao

I just wanna say yall shouldn’t be freaking out over Tim’s interview because remember with Matt? he used the word “friendship” and then that got blown way out of proportion and Portwell had the main romantic storyline this season… so always take things with a grain of salt and never take what actors/showrunners have to say about future plotlines to heart because there’s no way in hell they’d tell you the plan because like why would they???

the thing is we don’t know if ej and gina do kiss or if they’re interrupted bc it was a cliffhanger… but the fact that gina wants ej to be her first kiss i cry

the more I think about it the more it actually makes sense, don't get me wrong the entire scene was so freaking good (straight out of a rom-com) but I guess I set my hopes too high for a kiss r.i.p.

at least we have an official confirmation for s3 (I was pretty positive about it but still)

The difference between Rina and Portwell on being alleged plot devices is that most Rina interactions were followed by a close up of Nini’s reactions to them, while Ricky couldn’t care less about Gina spending time with EJ 😂

I just need everyone to understand that Portwell and Rini are co-main ships because they’re both a part of the core four and they’re the two ships with the most screentime/focus

i’ve been seeing a lot of anti portwell people saying that we only ship portwell because we don’t want ricky (the main male lead of the show) with gina. or that we want rini (the main relationship of the show) and r*na gets in the way of that.

let’s get one thing straight

PORTWELL IS A MAIN COUPLE

not only are they part of the core four but their development started from the VERY BEGINNING OF THE SHOW

it’s not about my love (or lack there of) for other couples, but rather my love for portwell itself
