My school was shut down til April 6th due to COVID-19. Personally, I don’t think it was necessary, considering my state doesn’t have any confirmed cases. But I’m not an expert so my opinion isn’t very valid here.

@staff is there a reason you are specifically targeting lgbt+ people and people with disabilities and chronic illness?

Cause it sure seems like you purposefully took tags away, and are flagging wedding photos and people with chronic illnesses in order to silence marginalized people.

Mysteriously, the nazi blogs seem untouched by this crackdown.

a brief review of saxophone emojis

9/10. The lacquer is nice and I appreciate the ligature and the octave key, but there are only three mother of pearl keys and six tone holes. Also, your bell is too big.

2/10. Looks like a kids toy. only three keys with no tone holes, and has no intention of being played. Mouthpiece is decent at best.

3/10. Nice proportions. Looks like it was drawn by an adult who played saxophone in middle school but dropped band to have more time for soccer. Looks a little mutilated. The keys are open, and we have two tone holes on the bell that are seemingly opened by the top key. Also, what the hell is that neck and mouthpiece? You’d have resistance the size of a truck.

1/10 ugly and you couldn’t even make the inside of the bell darker. However I appreciate the bar holding it together as well as the proportions.

3/10 I get thag we aren’t going for realism here but you could’ve tried a little harder.

100/10. THIS is a tenor saxophone. Look at those proportions! That neck! That keywork! A stunning instrument, I must say. Missing some side trill keys but overall she is lovely and will make lovely music.

1/10. Saxophones don’t have valves. Also, the mouthpiece looks like a DS stylus.

10/10. This is a good alto saxophone. A clear break between neck and body, mother of pearl keys, tone holes, and side trill keys. I would play this saxophone.

Onion rings

At lunch when we have onion rings all of my friends put their onion rings on my other friend’s trays. Today there were about 15-18 on her plate. At that point, some girls from another table put theirs on, it was getting pretty piled on. Some kids from a different table laughed and jokingly asked if they could have them. I agreed. Then people from all surrounding tables just,, put a couple of onion rings on the plate. There were so many fricking onion rings. We then stacked them and handed them to the person from the other class, our lunch period had finished, we left and never looked back.

I’m just really tired of the Glee hate I always see both inside and outside the fandom. Like there’s a lot of posts making the show into a meme of sorts nowadays, but people seem to forget how much it meant back in the day 

I mean where else could the gay kid with a dad like Burt come out and be told that he’s still just as loved, and be supported unconditionally by said father every moment afterwards? How many shows are there like that now?

Where else could the hot cheerleaders make out and it’s not just queer bait or fan service? Where there’s actually a genuine, emotional, heart felt story surrounding it? How many shows do you know like that?

Part of Glee’s whole thing was subverting stereotypes. Yes, you’ve got the sassy black girl, the gay who loves fashion, the bitchy cheerleader, the ditzy blonde, the asshole jock. But those characters are so much more than that. Even though they fell into said stereotypes at times, I think the show spent much more time showing the characters behind the clichés 

Mercedes could be vulnerable, and soft, and loving. She didn’t always have to be the Strong Black Woman that didn’t need no man

Kurt could be serious, and tough, and masculine. He didn’t always have to be the sassy gbf

Quinn could be selfless, Brittany could be smart, Puck could be kind.

And right out of the gate, the cast of characters was so diverse. The only main characters that actually fit the bill of a cis, straight, white, able bodied male were Will and Finn. Sam and Ryder were both dyslexic. I guess you could count Mason later on, but even he was on the Cheerios, which I’d argue was a good way to subvert the typical image of masculinity 

For six years, we got to meet and fall in love with multiple gay, lesbian, trans, and bi characters. Characters that were black, Asian, Latina, and mixed race. Characters that were Jewish and atheist, as well as several denominations of Christian. Characters with anxiety, OCD, depression, dyslexia, down syndrome, bulimia, paraplegia. And most of the characters can check off multiple boxes 

Glee gave us dozens of characters that we would have never found anywhere else. It gave us happy endings for characters that usually don’t receive them 

We got to see the big black girl with big dreams get everything she ever wanted. We got to see the broken Cheerio learn to love herself, and let others in, in the process. We got to see a gay and a lesbian couple go through the same highs and lows typically afforded to any average heteronormative high school relationship, and end with the gayest double wedding ever aired on television

You don’t have to preface every shred of positivity about the show with “Glee wasn’t perfect but…”. Every show has its flaws. It’s redundant to keep rehashing that point when there’s other things to talk about. Glee tried harder in 2009 than a lot of shows do now. Glee did more for unheard voices in 2009 than most of the shows out there now

No one is accusing this show of being perfect, trust me. But it tried. Maybe sometimes they tried too hard, or maybe sometimes things got a little crazy. But the heart was always there. People today don’t seem to know, or seem to have forgotten how revolutionary this show was. It changed representation in a big way. And no matter what, I’ll always be grateful for it, and I’ll always love the wonderful characters the show has given us over the years

Not to be a delusional gay- but the last ep confirmed Mike isn’t in love with El , but Will…

Mike: “(blank) “makes you crazy, like the word… “ (love)

EL: “Girlfriends?”

Mike: “No- not like girlfriends”

In the last ep, we see El, confront Mike about what he said in the cabin, when fighting with max (“I love her!”).  Mike is confused, that was 3 months ago and El says “You talked about your feelings your heart”. Mike just says “Oh! Oh, yeah that.Man, that was so long ago. Um…”  and starts to scratch his head. Then he says everything he said at the cabin was “in the heat of the moment stuff and we were arguing…”,  but he also says right after this…

But El just responds with, “I love you too”. And Mike is clearly confused- he doesn’t even remember saying “I love you”!

And when El kisses him, no joke Mike keeps his eyes open the WHOLE time - and he doesn’t kiss her back . It was awkward… (you’re telling me they didn’t have a better take than this?!)

And right after this kiss , Mike is just confused, they’ve been broken up for 3 months, he’s moved on. He’s just genuinely confused because he probably assumed they transitioned back to great friends, not that she “loves” him…

Mike: “No, not boyfriends either… it’s like a feeling or a…” (describing love).

* also this is the 80s- Mike is wearing a pink and blue top- cough my bi son. And this loving heart-eyes expression happens a few minutes before the most awkward mileven kiss ever 😆

After the Byers and El leave, we see this monologue that switches between scenes of Mike and Will ONLY. Mike looks back at the byers house “changing and I guess, if I’m being honest that’s what scares me .”  His feelings for El and Will have changed.

He’ll miss both Will and El. But , Mike “doesn’t want things things to change”. He doesn’t want his romantic feelings for El to go away and he doesn’t want his feelings of friendship to become romantic in regards to Will,  it ‘scares ‘ him (especially in 80s Indianna). Then right after Will cries,  it immediately switches to Mike hugging his mom- to mirror the time he thought Will died in s1 (I ran out of gif space).

*There was a reason that El was happy, smiling and didn't shed a single tear over dumping Mike …she wasn’t even a little sad. And when asked if Mike was a good kisser,  she just said “I don’t know he’s my 1st boyfriend.” (implying she’s thinking of having other boyfriends ,who are not Mike in the future).  While when Mike asks“ I mean, what did you think, really? That we were never gonna get girlfriends? We were just gonna sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives?“ And Will just sadly says “yeah, I guess I did. I really did!” There’s a reason why Mike first did a ½ hearted apology to El early in the season, until actually sincerely apologizing in ep 7. But Mike apologizes twice to Will. Almost immediately after blowing off the d&d game he apologizes, than after their second fight in the garage, Mike rushes over in a thunderstorm to Will’s house to immediately apologize, and when he’s not there he rushes into the woods to find him at castle byers. And there’s a reason why (unlike El), a minor argument with Mike, and the fear of losing him causes  him to have a break down, run away and cry and repeatedly call himself “stupid”, and destroy his safe place. While El and Max had a literally party after “dumping Mike” and make jokes throughout the season about it. Also Will was clearly jealous of Mike and El being together and even more annoyed when he still talked about her despite her dumping him…

s4 if you’re the last season- don’t be a wimp, and actually do it! Don’t constantly hint at it - and then refuse to follow through with all the hints. STOP GIVING ME FALSE HOPE-and queer baiting and actually commit!

I’ve been watching videos and reading things about tumblr, and of course I look at tumblr aswell The things that some people do or say on this site is so disturbing and just honestly makes me so uncomfortable It also makes me wonder what kind of place these people are in and it’s just sad and really upsetting that people are living that kind of life And I’m so lucky,, to not have to deal with that. I just think about these things a lot
