I low key, just want a fan fiction where anytime neil & Andrew bumps into each other, Neil says cheesy pick up lines that have Andrew most of the time wanting to either: make out with Neil, or punch him.

Because he's never heard such diabolical pickup lines (nobody's ever used pickup lines on him )that piss him off because they're really cheesy and stupid and 80% of the time leave him flustered.

Commiserating and having sympathy are two different things, though. I agree that there is no universe in which Aaron feels an ounce of regret or any other sad-tainted feeling about Riko's death. Riko was an awful human being who hurt his brother, so Aaron is glad he is dead. But... Knowing what it is to mourn an abuser? He can give Kevin that Understanding. Not empathy, not for Riko, not after what he'd done. But sympathy for Kevin. Kevin, who is relieved and angry and sad and broken and lost between memories of vicious hands and a bond forged so deep it felt like they were attached at the soul. Kevin who on top of all of this is ashamed of the weight Riko's death had on him. Everyone can hate an abuser for what they did, but having the emotional maturity to respect that every victim was impacted in a different way and will have a different path to healing? To show compassion, because anything else would just hurt them more.

Sorry if this is rambly or doesn't make sense. I'd never even heard of this take before, and it intrigued me. Anonymous, wanna have clear communication because I always get anxious: not trying to start an internet fight or anything. Debates are wonderful, just want to make sure you know I'm not trying to say your opinion is wrong. I guess I don't quite understand it, maybe?

I just finished the Captive Prince trilogy in two days.

It’s not a romance. It is not Romantasy.

It’s an exploration of morality and consent juxtaposing non-consensual relationships and consensual relationships between adults.

It’s a political epic in a fantasy world.

The point of view of the pinnacle of privilege to losing bodily autonomy and back to privilege.

I didn’t find the slavery or sexual abuse to be glorified or to be put in any light other than negative.

I found the political intrigue and the character development to be what kept me reading.

There’s an enemies to lovers trope buried in the political intrigue and exploration of morality.
